I do not own Ganyu to properly ensure all the calculations are accurate. All the calculations and assumptions are based on the experience I had on the trial.

So if you think anything I wrote is inaccurate, feel free to correct me! I'll happily discuss it with you.

This is also the first time I ever mess around with melt calculations, so I'm extremely open for correction and discussion!

Intro:

My boyfriend has been waiting for Ganyu for a while now. He has Amos' Bow, while I have Skyward Harp.

Of course Amos' Bow is expected to be the best weapon for her.

However, my competitive butt wants to see if Skyward Harp can match Amos' Bow.

In this analys**, *'*l be testing out 8 different weapons, and some artifact sets, to see which one is the best for Ganyu.

Assumptions:

The calculations below will follow the following assumptions:

1. Ganyu is lv90.

2. The enemy is one lv90 hilichurl.

3. The weapon considered will be:

- R5 Sharpshooters Oath 3★

• Will be assumed that all charged attack hit weak spot

- R2 Prototype Crescent

• Will be assumed the +45% attack passive is active from hitting weak spot.

- R2 Stringless

- Favonius Warbow

- R2 Viridescent Hunt (BP Bow)

• Will be assumed the passive proc 6 times in the simulation

- Blackcliff Warbow

• Will be assumed the +36% attack passive is active from killing enemies.

- Skyward Harp

• Will be assumed the passive proc 8 times in the simulation

- Amos' Bow

• It has been confirmed that Amos' "Arrow fly time" bonus damage is applied on the frost bloom.

All the charged attack and the bloom will be simulated to fly for 0.2 seconds, giving it +16% damage.

4. Talent lv6, C0.

5. It'll be assumed that all of the hits crit.

• The crit goal will be 60%, anything above that will be considered an "overflow".

6. Simulation will be done in ~53 seconds field play, where she will do:

Charged = 18 times

Skill = 5 times

Burst = 2 times (3 times for Favonius)

• I think the burst hit 25-35 times in the process. I will assume the burst hit 20 times in this simulation.

7. Ganyu is never inside her ult when attacking.

8. No physical damage will be considered.

9. No elemental reaction will be considered.

It'll be assumed that every charged shot is under 0.3s, allowing the passive to proc everytime.

You can see from all the result, 4-Blizzard Strayer is better than other artifact sets, both with freeze comp and without.

Conclusion:

1. Amos' Bow is the best bow for Ganyu

2. Best F2P weapon is Blackcliff Warbow, with Prototype Crescent following behind.

3. 4-Blizzard is the best artifact set

If Ganyu is benefiting from cryo resonance, then Wanderer would be somewhat better than Blizzard without freeze comp.

(Of course, the blizzard won't need cryo resonance, but I think this is important to note).

Personal Opinion:

Well, that was expected!

I did not expect Skyward Harp to come on-par without freeze comp tho. That was interesting.

But anyway, I hope this gives you an insight on what to use, should you wish to make the waifu a DPS!

Melt Comp:

Ganyu will be assumed to be the trigger on all the melt reaction in the following analysis

I've seen people saying that melt comp is better. But I feel like that's because they only show the raw damage, as in assuming melt is always present on every damage.

But in actual game play, melt trigger is limited, making it much less promising than it is shown to be.

To give you an idea of what I'm talking about, this is the result of me doing the same simulation while assuming melt is triggered on every damage:

You can see a HUGE difference with the calculations I made above.

So to make a more realistic approach, I tried to simulate Ganyu doing melt with the support of Xiangling's Guoba.

This is what I got:

Xiangling = 1

Skill = 1

Burst = 1

Melt from burst = 2 x

Charge x 4 = 10

Melt from charge = 2 x

Skill = 1

Xiangling = 1

Charge x 4 = 10

Melt from charged = 3 x

Skill = 1

Xiangling = 1

Charge x 4 = 10

Melt from charged = 3 x

Skill = 1

Burst = 1

Xiangling = 1

Charge x 4 = 10

Melt from burst = 2 x

Melt from charged = 2 x

Skill = 1

Charged x 1 = 2.5

~53 seconds field play

Total attack:

Xiangling = 4

Normal = 17 (10 melt)

Skill = 5

Burst = 2 x 20 (4 melt)

P.S. Guoba's damage won't be calculated.

P.P.S. I know that I said the enemy is one hilichurl, but the bloom won't trigger melt against one enemy (because the pyro will be gone because of the charged attack), so I'll be assuming the bloom does melt all the same.

Edit: Some has found out that the melt can trigger twice on an enemy (both frostflake and the bloom), so you can disregard this P.P.S!

P.P.P.S. You can do endless melt if you have Venti, so this simulation may not apply for that case.

With melt comp, you can kill most things in 1-2 melts, allowing inconsistency in melt.

I'll be testing this out on the 4 best weapon in the analysis above, along with Stringless as honorary mention.

Conclusion II:

1. Wanderer's Troupe is better for melt comp

2. In this simulation, melt comp has 5-11% higher damage output than freeze comp.
