In light of my recent discovery about Kusanali and what theories are coming out about her and Sumeru I think I want to talk about a danger when it comes to theorizing.

Something I noticed about a few of these theories is that they latched onto 1 or 2 points and started fleshing out a whole theory based off of just that. That can be trouble. I mean it's all fan stuff anyway so what's the harm but imo if you're going to take the time to theorize about something why not do the best you can right?

So the example I want to use is that really really early one about how Paimon's definitely the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles. And this was a theory that cropped up pretty much on launch day. The 1 or 2 points? Because Paimon has white hair and so does the Sustainer. Because she's got the primogem look in her hair and the Sustainer has primogem styled powers. And generally it's about how Paimon's design has some passing similarities to her.

Because of that theories have gone to great lengths to pick at anything that might help us bring these guys closer together. I think there are still theories out there building on it and even when they don't believe she's the Sustainer they still believe she's related because of these points.

Side Note: Btw that doesn't mean I don't think she's related in a different way but I've found a bunch of other reasons I so far have not seen other people pointing at yet. I really need to get that video out. It's been sitting there since We Will Be Reunited. [emoji]

Anyway the main issue I want to point out is summed up best in a quote from the crime drama Castle.

"Go where the evidence leads not the other way around."

It's nice to see these small hints but unless they lead to more concrete evidence they shouldn't be the basis for your theory. Especially when you'd think that if Paimon was the Sustainer meaning she was there during the MC's capture and the fall of Khaenri'ah then both MC siblings and Dainsleif himself would have recognized her on sight. With how much time we spend with her and how much time Dainsleif had with her you'd think somebody would have gotten a little suspicious. And if not us then how about our sibling who has all of their memories? You'd think they'd be extra careful talking about how their "war with destiny will see no end" right in front of their final boss. And if even not for any of these guys what about the Archons? Paimon's floating right there next to us as we talk to both Venti and Zhongli who are original members of the Seven. She gets shooed off by the Raiden Shogun too. You'd think any of those 3 would have noticed the Sustainer sent by Celestia right there in front of them.

When I finalized my theory on Yae Miko I made this. It's built up of many different points from all over the place that all link back to the central theory in their own way. It's still a theory and can easily be disproven by new information but I think there's plenty of arguments in favor of it that aren't going to be easy to debunk even for MiHoYo.

Side Note: Right I should also add that any theory should stand up to scrutiny. That's one of the reasons I like putting many of mine on here so that you guys can throw arguments at me and I can see if there are any holes to do more homework on. I put up a couple of my arguments against the Paimon/Sustainer theory above and here's mine for Kusanali.

I really like guessing at what could be coming up in this game and part of that is checking out what other people are looking into. So when you end up with theories catching on in the community that don't really have a solid foundation and keep building up from that it makes it less likely to see stuff that'll actually get anywhere. I mean until it was officially revealed the playerbase and even the official wiki were still calling Yae Miko "Guuji Yae."
