I think most of us saw the trailer and got really excited about characters vs characters. There's probably speculation on what Albedo got himself into, what pages were taken from his notebook and why Eula is calling him out with Bennett and Amber on her team.
But then I take a look at the tie-in event
And I'm going to say this will all be a big misunderstanding in the middle of the training program talked about in the livestream.
Here's where I call shenanigans.
I have a feeling the story will go just like they described it in the livestream. We'll head over to Dragonspine to help out with their training program. Eula will be absent-minded and we'll learn that Albedo was supposed to be one of the mentors in this program. We go looking for him only to be told that he is late because he found pages missing in his notes. The rest of Part 1's quest will be figuring out what went missing and who took it. That's when the avalanche happens and we'll have a preview of the obstacle course event.
Once we're out it'll turn out that there's just an Abyss plot going on and we put a stop to it. Then Eula and Amber find us with Eula being mad at Albedo for being so late. We and when I say we I mean Paimon will explain the situation and Eula will have her vengeance.
We most likely won't recover the pages until Part 3 but it'll pretty much play out with us and Albedo until then where we'll finally bring Eula, Amber and Bennett in on the situation. And that leads to the last part of the event where Albedo opens up a little and the group builds snowmen together to relax.
It might even turn out that the pages were taken by a new recruit and the Abyss stuff was just a coincidence. That's why there's a part in the event that has us uncovering snowman parts. Maybe even Klee's involved with that since these last few events have been cameo-heavy.
As for the "fight" I'm going to guess that's going to be part of the cutscene we get and just part of the training program. Maybe Albedo being the veteran character is there to train the younger Bennett and Amber who are being assisted/trained by Eula. That's why we're also on that team.
The out of control Albedo story is probably not going to happen until we get closer to Snezhnaya.
But what are your hopes for this event? What went missing and who is causing the avalanche?
