And I can say I'm a little disappointed by the turn out.
Previously I theorized about what this new double banner system could mean for the game. (And I just noticed Bennett is in fact on the banner. Neat!) But I came up with 2 scenarios that were likely. On the one hand was almost exactly this version where the trials would be combined and one of the 5*s would have the primogem reward while the other wouldn't. The other would be two sets of trials for each of the banners with each 5* still giving primogems. (they took that last part at least)
What I wasn't counting on was this.....
Seriously? What was the point about transferrable 4* pity if the banners are essentially the same besides the 5*? Now I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say this is new territory for them too and they don't just want to put out random 4*s since it seems these banners are tied thematically with the update. That said it is still annoying to see identical 4*s even more so than last time with the Childe and Ayaka banners.
So credit where credit is due it's nice of them to provide double the primogem rewards because of the 5* trials. But I really hope to see more 4*s in future double banners. We have more than enough. I mean otherwise if we're keeping the 4*s why not just combine the banners with a rated up Albedo and Eula splash art. And then just have a select menu when the 5* drops and it's a rate up drop.
