The new version's story Chapter XXXIV does not only contain interesting plot but also brings new enemies to oppose our Valkyries. One of those enemies is a mysterious and powerful entity called Husk-Existentialism.
It is the third of the superior Husks we meet throughout the story and supposedly the mightiest one.
Husk-Existentialism is an IMG-type boss who possesses a variety of dangerous abilities and can even affect the nearest space.
You will be likely to meet it in one of the story stages. Here you can find some tips that might help you to prepare for the inevitable fight better.
Introduction
The battle takes place on a relatively wide platform in a hostile space. The team lineup is regulated by the story, so there is a chance that only three characters will be available. The boss appears in the centre, partially buried under the surface, and goes through several phases during the battle.
Flower phase
The boss has its core hidden and can perform three kinds of attacks in the first phase.
• Circle of the rising sun
! Starts spinning and emits several beams around itself that move from bottom to top. Surprisingly easily avoided as is, but one timely evasion will not hurt.
• Seeds of existentialism
! Launches numerous spheres that scatter and fall all around the area. Pay attention to their trajectory and avoid the spots at which they are about to fall.
• Killer stars
!! Locks on the Valkyrie and shoots homing projectiles continuously. Perform evasions in time to avoid being swayed by multiple hits.
Vine interlude
! When the boss's shell HP drops to zero, the boss becomes invincible, rises and flies away from the platform while also launching numerous spheres to cover the area.
After that, the boss launches four claws that attach to the platform and turn into Vines of Filth.
Vines of Filth must be defeated in order to proceed to the next phase. They are controlled by the boss remotely and can only perform one kind of attack.
• Seeds of filth
!! Launch several nicely arranged clusters of spheres in the Valkyrie's direction. Can be performed in pairs or by all simultaneously. Make sure to evade timely.
Brawl interlude
When all Vines of Filth are defeated, the boss crashes into the platform and leaves its plate-like head lying, at the same time summoning two Husks-This Cage to distract your Valkyries.
Note: Husk-This Cage is a new regular IMG-type enemy, whose mechanics differ from the mechanics of most regular Husks which Captains are used to. Its abilities will not be explained in this article for various reasons, but it should not be hard to deal with anyway.
!!! Shortly before the last summoned minor Husk is defeated, the boss's head starts rolling around the platform, leaving a blazing trail, pulling Valkyries and dealing damage to them before flying away and rejoining the body. Steer clear from the plate to avoid taking too much damage.
Imaginary phase
! After reсollecting itself, the boss shoots a large beam through the whole area. This is supposed to be countered by using Herrscher of Truth's Ultimate. The battle shall be carried on by Bronya from now until the end.
When the beam gets blocked by Herrscher of Reason, the boss changes the environment and releases four of its parts, which then float beside it and launch arrays of spheres to attack your Valkyries. Each part has a HP value and can be destroyed.
Note: During this phase, your attacks on the boss hit its exposed core.
The boss can perform three kinds of attacks while the parts are present.
• Seeker stars
! A weaker version of the first phase's ability that is performed periodically regardless of other actions. Launches a bunch of homing projectiles.
• Piercing ray
!! Simply shoots a beam at the Valkyrie.
• Imaginary devastation
!!! Channels a huge beam while moving it from one side to another across the platform.
When all the four parts are destroyed, the boss performs a deadly sequence of attacks before attempting to restore them.
• Omniominous
!!!! Shoots a massive array of Killer stars at the Valkyrie, then attacks with Imaginary devastation, then launches its head like a boomerang to swipe across the area, then launches it once more forward in a straight line.
When the boss's core's HP drops fatally, Herrscher of Truth can use her Ultimate to finish it and end the battle.
This is all you should know about the new story boss. Please keep it in mind that the actual performance may be subject to changes and therefore feel different.
