✦ OVERVIEW
It's only the start of 2023 and we already have a fun gundam valk and also a broken support - Herrscher of Truth!
- Herrscher of Truth is primarily a Fire-Lightning support valk. She is like a stronger, super-fast version of Azure Empyrea and Pardofelis. She gives sp recovery for the team, buffs and Elemental Breach. But she does everything super fast, way better than AE and Pardo. HoTr even has time stop on Ult. Basically, HoTr will replace AE, Pardo and Fischl in Fire and Lightning teams (in most cases)
- HoTruth can also be an Ice / IMG DPS. She currently has Husk Mysticism as her Abyss boss, but might be taken over by HoO or HoFi next patch. For ice weather, HoTr is just ok, can handle Ice and IMG content just fine in RedLotus.
- And of course, the second biggest impact HoTr will have is in v6.4. She will be required in Herrscher Trio team with Herrscher of Finality and Origin. This team requires all 3 to activate special qte, ult and extra buffs.
✦ RANK UP
The extra sp recovery skill at S2-rank is a massive quality-of-life upgrade, especially in Herrscher Trio team. The reason: Normally HoTr can rotate without using Ultimate. In trio team, you always want to use ult (75 sp) to activate Herrscher of Finality special qte. Basically, S2 rank will make sure you will always have 75 sp ready on every rotation.
✦ Pull in 6.3 or 6.4?
In 6.3, HoTruth has a special expansion with gear selector box. Based on CN server, HoTr will return in v6.4 EXPA SELECT. Which one to pull? Up to you. Both have their advantages
✦ SKILL OVERVIEW
FORMS
Herrscher of Truth has two modes: Extremum and Continuation forms. She starts with Extremum form, and when you tap ult, she transforms to Continuation form. Both count as Herrscher forms.
WEAPONS
Herrscher of Truth has a 'weapon' mechanic. You can unlock weapons with various attacks during Extremum Mode:
- QTE
- Basic ATK 4th sequence hit
- Combo ATK and
- Signature weapon active
WEAPONS HAVE IMPORTANT EFFECTS
TEAM SP
- When you switch out with 1/2/3 weapons, the team gains 4/10/18 sp.
- HoTr also gets 5 sp every time you unlock a weapon.
DPS
- Each weapon unlocked will improve the damage of a specific attack during Continuation form.
- For every weapon unlocked, you gain Total DMG +7.5 / 15 / 32.5% (S0) > 10 / 20 / 45% (S1)
DO YOU UNLOCK ALL 3 WEAPONS?
SUPPORT: You usually just need 1 or 2 weapons. Depends on how much sp is needed.
DPS: You want to unlock all 3 weapons for maximum damage during the Continuation form.
DOMAIN OF ASCENSION
One of the reasons the Domain of Ascension weapon is important is because you can immediately get 1-2 weapons, skipping the long animations you would normally need. You also trigger evasion skill - time fracture.
TRANSFORM
Tap Ult to cast Salvo transformation and enter Continuation Form. As DPS, this is your main damage source and you gain 15%(S0) / 18%(SS) Elemental Breach.
Note that Salvo transformation only happens once. All Ult transformations afterward will have a shorter transformation called Return Bike.
Salvo has a few extra features compared to Return Bike
- Salvo tri***** 2s Time Fracture
- On hit, recover 20 sp for HoTr.
- Salvo counts as Combo ATK. This is related to Echo of the World buff and Bronya Zaychik stigma 2PC Effect Inceptive Authority. Basically, for the first transformation, you don't have to use Combo ATK to activate these effects.
CONTINUATION FORM DPS
As DPS, just cycle through Combo, evade, weapon, Basic ATK, and another Combo ATK and finish it with Ultimate. You gain meter faster with signature weapon Domain of Ascension.
ULTIMATE (125 SP, CD:30s)
Ultimate fires a giant Gundam blast. For each Combo ATK used (meter consumed) in Continuation form, Ult deal an additional 30%(S) / 50%(SS1) ATK Ice DMG.
CONTINUATION FORM SUPPORT
As support, in Continuation form, you just want to use Combo, Ult and switch out.
COMBO ATK: Gives Echo of the World buff, after you switch out
- Enemies take 25%(S) / 30%(S2) more Fire🔥and Lightning⚡DMG for18s
- Team Fire🔥and Lightning⚡DMG +25%(S) / 30%(S2) for18s
- Also activates Bronya stigma 2pc effect: Enemies take 18% more Total DMG for 18s
ULTIMATE: Fire 🔥and Lightning ⚡valks in the team gain 14%(S) / 17% (SS) Elemental Breach for 16s
SWITCH OUT: After switching out in Continuation form, HoTr launches mecha at a target and creates a black hole that pulls nearby enemies.
PROJECT BUNNY
Herrscher of Truth also fights alongside summoned unit Project Bunny. Project Bunny is always on the field, except during Continuation Form. Bunny attacks can permanently extend/refresh Turgenev stigma, which is good news for players using Turgenev as their placeholder support build.
IMG INSTA-KILL
In continuation form, HoTr Combo ATK instakill IMG enemy phase <20% Seed HP. This was pretty underrated, but it's really important now because new IMG bosses - Husk Mysticism and Husk Existentialism have high HP Seed.
TRIO TEAM
When Herrscher of Truth, Origin, and Finality are on the same team, HoFi gains various buffs and special mechanics. One of them is - HoTruth ult becomes a Joint Burst ATK which has a much lower sp cost (75 sp) and tri***** HoFi special qte, which makes enemies take 12% more Elemental DMG for 16s.
The second effect is HoFinality ult becomes a special Trio Ultimate, which deals Fire, Lightning and Ice DMG!

FULL SEQUENCE EXAMPLE (Salvo transformation)
Ai-chan chakram > weapon > Ult -> HoTr Weapon Active > Basic ATK once (to unlock 2nd weapon) > Salvo Transform > Ultimate -> DPS Sequence -> Repeat
SHORT SEQUENCE EXAMPLE (No Ult)
Ai-chan chakram > Weapon Active -> HoTr Weapon Active > Basic ATK once (to unlock 2nd weapon) > Return Bike Transform > Combo ATK -> DPS Sequence -> Repeat
Note for Reverse Bike transformation
As mentioned before, Salvo transformation counts as Combo ATK, which is required to activate Echo World buff and Bronya stigma 2pc effect. You don't need to use Combo ATK on your first transformation. (Unless... Salvo doesn't hit any enemy, then you need to use Combo ATK)
WITHOUT DOMAIN OF ASCENSION
Without Domain of Ascension, you have to use QTE > Combo ATK to gain weapons. This is just one of the many disadvantages of not having her signature weapon Domain of Ascension
DPS ROLE SEQUENCE
Pardo Combo x2 > Predation -> Sushang QTE > Weapon Active > Tap ATK (BackWind) > Ultimate > Combo -> Pardo Ult - > HoTr QTE > Weapon > Basic ATK (Unlock 3 Weapons) > Transform > Combo ATK > Evade + Weapon > Basic > Combo ATK > Ultimate -> Repeat
TRIO TEAM
HoTr sequence is pretty much the same as support sequence.
Salvo: HoTr Weapon > Basic (if need 2 weapons) > Salvo > Ult (Joint Burst ATK) -> HoFi QTE
Bike: HoTr Weapon > Basic (if need 2 weapons) > Bike > Combo > Ult (Joint Burst ATK) -> HoFi QTE
FULL SEQUENCE EXAMPLE (Lightning team⚡, Salvo transform)
HoTr Weapon Active > Basic ATK once (to unlock 2nd weapon) > Salvo transformation > Ultimate ->
Eden QTE (use Ult if equipped with Handel stigma) -> DPS Sequence -> Repeat
Note on Eden QTE trigger:
Eden QTE is triggered by Weapon Active and Time Slow. If you are too fast, Eden qte trigger will expire right when you trigger time fracture from Combo ATK or Salvo. HoTr must wait a bit before using Combo ATK / Salvo to trigger Eden QTE.In the gif above, I used weapon active when Eden switch is still on cooldown, so it wont trigger her qte.
