Elysian Realm - New Signet Guide (Hua and Kevin)

From Elysian Realm Guides

Hello! In this guide I'll be looking at the new Hua and Kevin core signets, as well as the new set of enhanced signets that go with them. I'll go through which valkyries they work with, which they don't, and compare them to the old set of core/enhanced signets.

3. TL;DR Summary

Kevin's Signets

- Overview -

Kevin's new core signet has a heavy focus on burst modes, or on ults that hit many times, like Fischl's. The War of Deliverance status has no timer on it, so once it's triggered it applies for the rest of the battle. Ideally, you want to trigger it as early as possible to get the most benefit.

This signet also comes with 3 new enhanced signets:

Upgrades:

+1 --- 6s duration > 8s duration

+2 --- 10s duration

+3 --- 20% total DMG > 30% total DMG

This is an interesting buff, since War of Deliverance is permanent, the ignore DEF/RES can only be triggered once per battle, followed by a permanent total DMG boost. This can be really good for finishing a battle quickly, but against bosses I feel the other enhanced signets are better.

Upgrades:

+1 --- 50% bonus > 60% bonus

+2 --- 70% bonus

+3 --- 80% bonus

This is probably the best of the new enhanced signets, it's basically the effect of Kevin's other core signet, but without a timer. Definitely take this and upgrade it if you have the option.

Upgrades:

+1 --- 0.5% boost, cap of 50% > 0.6% boost, cap of 60%

+2 --- 0.7% boost, cap of 70%

+3 --- 0.8% boost, cap of 80%

This signet is best for longer battles, like boss battles or vs elites as it could take a while to max out the bonus (100 stacks). It definitely helps quite a bit, but it's not necessarily a must-have.

- Recommended Combos -

- - - Good with: - - -

- Herrscher of Sentience

- Herrscher of Thunder

Elysia's Blessing of Narukami also counts toward this

- Herrscher of Reason

Charges very fast due to the hover guns, can even get to 100 stacks with one Ult

- Bright Knight: Excelsis

- Starchasm Nyx

- Argent Knight: Artemis

- Prinzessin der Verurteilung!

Though it's not a burst mode, her Ult hits about 50 times, allowing you to activate the signet with only one use

- Striker Fulminata

- - - Average with: - - -

- Twilight Paladin

Her ult contributes about 15 hits, so it would take about 4 cycles to activate the buff. In between ults, you would still get the basic signet buffs as well, so it's not too bad, just not as good as some other valks

- Miss Pink Elf♪

ONLY if you have Elysia's signet Blessing of Purity, otherwise the counter won't go up at all

- - - Bad with: - - -

- Herrscher of Flamescion

- Ritual Imayoh

Surprisingly, her turret's attacks DO NOT count toward this, and so Kevin's other core is better for her

- Luna Kindred

- Midnight Absinthe

- Stygian Nymph

- Valkyrie Gloria

- Infinite Ouroboros

Umbra of Ouroboros does not count as a burst mode, so she doesn't work very well with this

- Sweet 'n' Spicy

Her ult provides a max of 6 hits each time, so not really worth it

- Comparison -

Compared to Kevin's other core set, this new one is a massive buff. The large amount of valkyries it works with, as well as the enhanced signet [Dream of the Deliverer] giving it the same effect as the other core, means that you should nearly always take this one, with a few exceptions. The lack of a timer makes this core especially strong, and places Kevin's signets as one of the top choices for nearly any Valkyrie.

Hua's Signets

- Overview -

This signet gives invincibility, similar to the other core when using the [Resolve] sigil. The biggest difference is that the Soldier's Remembrance stacks don't come back, meaning that it can only be triggered 6 times per battle. However, this signet does not require the sigil to combo with, and in fact gets no boost from the sigil at all. This then opens the sigil slot to other, possibly more helpful sigils.

This signet also comes with 3 new enhanced signets:

Upgrades:

+1 --- Invincibility extension +0.3s > Invincibility extension +0.35s

+2 --- Invincibility extension +0.4s

+3 --- Invincibility extension +0.45s

This signet increases the amount of invincibility time you have each time you get hit. At +0, the maximum time is 2s, and the max increases by 0.25 each level. The max can further increase if you have another enhanced signet, [Broken Dream], as it adds Soldier's Remembrance stacks. It's not bad, but the fact that you have limited Soldier's Remembrance stacks means that the benefits are temporary.

Upgrades:

+1 --- 50% of DMG Reduction > 60% of DMG Reduction

+2 --- 70% of DMG Reduction

+3 --- 80% of DMG Reduction

This is a very interesting one, as it gives a reason to take defensive signets. For example, if you have Eden's (Every 10SP gives 2.5% DMG reduction) and 100SP, that's 25% DMG reduction and so a +0 [Worldly Troubles] would give 12.5% total DMG. Though it's an interesting concept, I don't think this signet is worth it as the Realm values offense more, and so taking any DMG reduction signet is a waste.

Upgrades:

+1 --- Reduces max stacks by 10 > Reduces max stacks by 5

+2 --- Does not reduce max stacks

+3 --- Can be triggered twice per battle

This is probably the best of the new enhanced signets because it gives an extra stack of Soldier's Remembrance. Additionally, it boosts the max stacks of Hua's normal signets to 60, which then gives more total/physical/elemental DMG, depending on which signets you have. If you do plan on taking Hua's core, I would definitely recommend getting and upgrading this signet over the others.

- Recommended Combos -

Like all of Hua's other signets, this set doesn't combo with anyone in particular. It would generally be used as a way to cover weaknesses, often right before fighting Nihilus. Thus, it's average with any and all valkyries, not good or bad with anyone.

This new core set does combo with other Flame-Chaser's signets, unlike the other set. This is mostly because of [Worldly Troubles], so if you don't plan on going for it, there's no need to bother. These signets are those that give DMG reduction, every Flame-Chaser has one except Kevin and Sakura (and Elysia).

- Comparison -

Compared to Hua's other core set, this one is more for shorter battles, as all buffs are given at the start and decrease as you get hit. This is the opposite of what you normally want from Hua's signets though, as they're most helpful against Nihilus, the longest fight and most difficult of the bosses.

This set does have a plus in that using it doesn't take up the sigil slot, though Hua's sigil actually has the best in-battle effect anyways. The fact that her sigil doesn't affect this core set at all hurts its potential greatly and so this "benefit" doesn't really mean much.

In all, this set could be useful if you're a good enough player to get hit less than 6-8 times per battle, even against Nihilus, but you want the extra insurance just in case. Alternatively, it's helpful if you want the invincibility but also really want a different sigil. Otherwise, Hua's other core is probably the better choice.

TL;DR

Kevin's new core: Very good on nearly all Valks

Hua's new core: It's ok, but the old one is better

I actually had a lot of fun testing all of this, especially Kevin's. It was really surprising that both Ritual Imayoh's and Elysia's (without Blessing of Purity) didn't actually count, I really thought they would. It's also surprising to realize just how many of the Elysian Realm valks have burst modes.

Kevin's new core is a much needed buff, since the old one had such a short timer. I was really hoping for more with Hua's though, defense just doesn't seem to have a place in the Realm.

If you find anything interesting with these new signets, or have any questions, leave a comment below! I read all of them, and all your kind words mean a lot to me <3
