How long ago was it that the beta for Star Rail happened? Well looks like MiHoYo's not done yet!
To be fair a turn-based RPG in 2021 didn't really resonate with me. The graphics and characters are gorgeous as usual for these guys and I'm sure the story will be kick ass. But seeing the beta it looks like the battle pacing will be so much slower than us Genshin and Honkai players are used to.
But now if we got a Genshin that's a shooter that could be interesting. It'd be like playing with just the archers but with much better controls. Also shooting games as far as I know aren't that popular in Asia. Japan's the biggest name in the industry and the shooter genre is hardly present over there. So I think I'll be looking forward to hearing more news on that.
I have no doubt Star Rail got its funding from Genshin too so this is the trickle down effect at its finest. We helped Genshin become the huge success it is now MiHoYo's got the means to keep making really fancy projects for the future. Also it's really cool they can even expand overseas and let a whole separate branch take over the development of these new games. Essentially they're building foreign job markets and for a company of its size that's pretty impressive imo.
Anyway which one are you more excited for Star Rail or this new open-world shooter?
