[V3.4] A Sobriquet Under Shade: Lisa’s New Outfit and Related Event

Another new skin is given for free in Genshin Impact. This time, [A Sobriquet Under Shade], customized outfit for Lisa who revisited her Alma mater after many years, will be obtainable for free as a reward from the "Second Blooming" event. In this guide we will go over the research of the outfit and its exclusive event. Check it out!

1. Backstory of [A Sobriquet Under Shade]

Lisa had studied in Sumeru for two years before and is recognized as Sumeru Akademiya's most distinguished graduate in 200 years. When she studied in Sumeru, Lisa showed extraordinary talents. She majors in alchemy and elementalism. Whoever first met Lisa often has the first impression of her as "well deserving of being Akademiya's genius graduate". While she was likely to be promoted to the core management position of Akademiya, she left Sumeru after realizing the types of effects the over-pursuit of divine knowledge through void can have on a person. Now she returned, so she custom-made this Sumeru-styled student outfit.

2.Outfit Features Research

1.Sumeru Rose

Some special elements added to Lisa’s A Sobriquet Under Shade made it apart from Sumeru’s average student uniform, such as Sumeru Rose.

Sumeru Rose: Same as rose in the real world, Sumeru Rose is considered a token for romance and warmth, also a classic imagery in Sumeru literature. It’s flower language goes like: [Get rid of the boring penance and be accompanied by roses and wine. There is nothing more important than this!], which coincides with what Lisa came for in Sumeru: PAID VACATION.

2. Geometric Pattern

Persian fabrics feature geometric patterns or rose-shaped connection patterns. They go with bright colors, especially with yellow, khaki, brown, blue, purple being the most popular. Geometric pattern embodies the most original excellence in Islamic aesthetics. Based on the circle and square, it derived from numerous forms that can constitute a variety of polygons, hence what saw in Lisa’s outfit.

3.Outfit Match

Lisa's new outfit is also inspired by Persian women's dress (Reference: FASHION DETAILS: a historical sourcebook - Persia), including open neckline, scarf on the back and double horsetail. Though its hat looks like a beret, the overall match of hat and dress is still similar to that of Persian clothing.

3. Second Blooming

The name of five stages in Second Blooming has paid tribute to many great literary works.

1. My Name is Violet

A tribute to the famous work My Name Is Red (Turkish: Benim Adım Kırmızı) by Orhan Pamuk, a Türkiye writer. This is a great literary work that explores the existential significance of life and art and the conflict of belief.

Ferit Orhan Pamuk (born 7 June 1952) is a Turkish novelist, screenwriter, academic, and recipient of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature. Born in Istanbul, he studied painting since childhood and majored in architecture at university, and later became a writer. The 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature said, Orhan Pamuk in the quest for the melancholic soul of his native city has discovered new symbols for the clash and interlacing of cultures. His works have been translated and published in more than 60 languages.

2. Museum of Innocence

Again, a tribute to Museum of Innocence (Turkish: Masumiyet Müzesi), a novel by Orhan Pamuk. It tells the story of the conflict between love and class.

Interestingly, Museum of Innocence is both a novel by Orhan Pamuk and an actual physical museum he designed and curated. The museum displays everything the fictional characters wear, hear, see, collect and dream about, carefully placed in boxes and showcases for visitors. The museum is not only produced on Orhan Pamuk whimsical side, but also a by-product of his novel Museum of Innocence. It is also the first museum in the world based entirely on a novel.

3. One of a Thousand Nights

A tribute to Arabian Nights and Days, a collection of Arab folk stories by Naguib Mahfouz, the first Nobel Prize winner in literature in the Arab world.

Arabian Nights and Days is a pinnacle of Mahfouz's late symbolic literature creation. When Mahfouz repeatedly explored the lesson drawn from how often the victory in human struggle is gained and lost, he considers man's own "evil" the root cause and put forth the issue of man's self-construction. He wisely innovated based on the characters in One Thousand and One Nights, with seventeen continuous stories, to illustrate a moral in a vivid manner: "there is no peace in the world; it is human greed that condones the devil that can do whatever it wants.

Naguib Mahafuz, an Egyptian writer and important intellectual in the Arab world, was sent to a private school to study the Koran at the age of 4 and receive religious enlightenment education. The Nobel Prize in Literature 1988 was awarded to Naguib Mahfouz "who, through works rich in nuance - now clear-sightedly realistic, now evocatively ambiguous - has formed an Arabian narrative art that applies to all mankind", making him the first Arabic writer to win such prize.

4.Caveman

[Caveman] may come from the play The People of the Cave by the Egyptian writer Tawfik el-Hakim, one of the greatest writers in Egypt.

People of the Cave is of epoch-making significance in Arab literature, also a landmark in the Egyptian drama community. Taha Hussein, a famous Egyptian writer, once praised: People of the Cave is epoch-making in the history of Arab literature... It is the first work created in Arab literature that can truly be called a play; It enriches and adds an unprecedented wealth to Arab literature, and it improves the standing of Arab literature, making it no inferior to foreign literature of ancient and modern times. "

5.Street Spirit

It may come from Awlad Haretna (also translated into Children of the Alley), another work of Naguib Mahfouz.

Children of the Alley is a modern fable, reflecting the evolution of human society from the age of prophets to the age of science. It conducts in-depth discussion about the issues of history, destiny, power and truth, with a combination of realism, symbolism, absurdity and mystery.

Does this give evidence that Lisa is an erudite librarian?
