Hoyolab

Hoyolab is a social media platform that is made for the community of people who enjoy playing Hoyoverse content. It is a way for them to connect with one another, discuss the different games, share their art, and many other fun things. However, I have noticed that Hoyolab has become of hub of non Hoyoverse content. This ranges from random memes, content for anime such as Oshi No Ko, Chainsaw Man, and Demon Slayer, and people's personal daily lives. I have a few things that I would like to share with everyone who reads this post. I will not talk about those so called "redesigns", anything Gacha Club related, AI art, or trivial things that don't truly matter.

1. The Rules of Social Media

Since Hoyolab is considered to be a social media platform, there are universal rules that apply to it. Especially since there are children using this app daily. I will not go into detail about things like NSFW art or AI (Although AI Art disgusts me) because that is not what truly bothers me about this platform. First of all, I have seen countless posts where people shares photos of themselves, their friends, and/or their houses/rooms. While some people might feel comfortable with sharing their photos online, I do not believe that it is appropriate, especially on a gaming platform like Hoyolab. You always have to be careful about what you post online, especially if you are younger. You do not know what kinds of people use Hoyolab, so it is better to not post that kind of content unless it is something like Cosplay or even casual Cosplay.

2. Non Hoyoverse Content

I have nothing against anime. I love anime. But that is not why Hoyolab was created. If you want to share content regarding specific animes, it is probably best to choose to share it on the different platform such as Reddit or Amino. There are entire communities dedicated to Oshi No Ko, Demon Slayer, and many other titles. It can be annoying to see a bunch of anime memes on your homepage, especially when the platform was created for games like Genshin, Honkai Impact 3rd, and other Hoyoverse games. I am not telling you what you should be doing, only giving a suggestion. It is quite clear that some of you are not allowed to have Instagram. That is why you post non Hoyoverse related art, as beautiful as it can be.

3. Posting Private Information

It can be hard to believe what people say, especially when they are sharing private information online. Sometimes, people state that they have mental health issues for clout or to gain popularity. That is not okay at all. But even if you do have mental health issues, I do not believe that is something you should share on a gaming platform. That is very private information and can be used against you. Unless you are giving your followers an update on your mental health or talking about a serious issue, please, don't do that. As I said before about the personal photos, you have to be very careful about what you post online.

Now, I am not telling you what to post or what to do online, but I am looking out for everyone's safety. It is ultimately up to Hoyoverse to regulate their social media platform better to ensure the safety of everyone who uses it. Hoyolab may be for people 12 and older, but it is still social media, and you still have to careful. Also, I will say one thing about AI art. It doesn't truly bother me until someone posts AI trying to pass it off as their own art. It is like you are dismissing the struggle that actual artists are faced with. That's all on that subject. And another thing. Stop posting about people blocking you or trying to get the entire community to report someone. It's childish and makes you look immature. Unless that person has genuinely done something wrong, not because they stated their opinion even if it was rude. Don't report that, ignore it unless they straight up start harassing you.

I don't care if you come at me in the comments. I am just voicing my concerns.
