Typewriter Art Archives | Salt Snow Holy City Designer Interview

From Elysian Realm Typewriter

"The living believes in the samsara after death, the dead anticipates a reunion with the living."

Lovely human, today the Elysian Realm Typewriter will share the design philosophy of the new story map Salt Snow Holy City with you. Come and take a look now!

※※※※※ Salt Snow Holy City ※※※※※

Salt Snow Holy City is a bubble universe that is relatively peaceful and stable, where residents live contented and simple lives under certain orders, despite its technological level being equivalent to the medieval period of the real world.

True to its name, Salt Snow Holy City is covered with white salt, which scene designers have focused on in their design. The soft snow underfoot, the salt particles floating in the air, and the visible salt crystals everywhere create an iconic atmosphere. The Sage Tower is also incorporated into the overall scene design, along with some ruins-style buildings and walls.

※※※※※ Peripheral Residential Area ※※※※※

Following the footsteps of Seele, Susannah, and Shigure Kira, the first area they entered was the residential area for ordinary residents. The overall style adopts the Nordic architectural style, which is simple and natural. The quaint streets are paved with cobblestones, and the wooden houses on both sides are arranged neatly. Scene designers used weathered and corroded wood and peeling walls to create an old and timeless feel for the buildings. Additionally, small objects such as wooden barrels and crates were added to the streets to add traces of residents' lives.

At the center of the square stands ancient clock tower ruin that reminds residents of time in this ever-bright world. It also records information about this world and its connection to the other world. Unfortunately, after a long time of erosion, most of the information has become blurred.

※※※※※ Central Residential Area ※※※※※

The residential area near the center of the Holy City is more prosperous. Unlike the wooden buildings on the periphery, scene designers mainly used stones for buildings to look sturdier in this area. The four sides of the buildings have different structures, and the outer walls are painted with cold colors. Every subtle decoration showcases the superb craftsmanship of the craftsmen, and the overall appearance is very delicate. Decorative small flags and shrubs were added along the streets to make this area more lively and vibrant.

※※※※※ The Area Before the Tower ※※※※※

The Sage Tower is the holiest place in this world, and scene designers made the main body of the tower a huge irregular crystal of salt that stood tall. It is surrounded by spiral columns made of rocks. The top of the tower always shines brightly, casting light on this world and serving as a beacon to the other world.

The roads under the tower used to lead to all directions, but now they have become ruins with a strong ancient atmosphere. After years of erosion, the bridge surface has cracked, revealing deep layers of bricks and stones. Nevertheless, the majestic columns and vaguely discernible decorative patterns still reflect the past glory of this area.
