It feels like only yesterday I was playing pirate with them, cleaning up the dust piles or following one of them around. (or getting swindled out of Lotus Heads)
But now our Little Meng's going off on his own journey. I said it once before that it would be cute to see them years down the road all grown up. Maybe that's really going to happen.
Anyway I actually said this before to Alumina93 but there's actually already another known Commission in v2.4. Named "The Little Pirate Goes Out To Sea" I previously thought it was maybe Little Fei's Commission. But since we seem to be following Little Meng now and this Commission today implies things the pirate going out to sea might be him. Imagine getting another new Commission when Sumeru comes out where we catch up with him. And then some time later we'll get another new Liyue Commission like "Reunion of Pirates" or something and the three of them catch up a little more grown up than we are used to.
Wow this is triggering a mama bear instinct in me I didn't even know I had. I half don't want him to go. [emoji] I can't imagine not seeing him around playing pirates with his friends even thought it got really annoying how many times I got that quest. Curses MiHoYo how did you turn a Daily Commission into a tearjerker! [emoji]
Anyway as a theorycrafter I can't help but imagine how this will go. So in the "out to sea" Commission Meng says his farewells to his friends. It's going to be sad but he's going to grow up and see all kinds of things and tell them all about it when he comes back home. Little Fei will be all tsundere about it because he's his lancer and Little Lulu will encourage him and eventually talk Fei into bidding him farewell. As time goes on Lulu and Fei will get together (or she'll friendzone him because Meng's just too badass now) and then meanwhile Meng will be learning through his travels. On the other hand Fei will probably take it hard but one day he'll see his own path and start to develop his own skills. Finally we'll get that Reunion Commission where Meng returns home with tons of stories to share. But to his surprise Fei has plenty of stories of his own and Lulu congratulates them both. (and then shocks them because while they were doing their thing she studied under Ying'er and learned all kinds of- wait that's NSFW- I mean she learned how to knit! She knits real good now!) [emoji] No but seriously it'll be cool to see them after all this is over and they've all got something to show.
