Hello Travelers! In this post, I’ll go over the tips and tutorial for the Fontaine underwater challenge – destroy Pufferfruits.
TL;DR:
- Break the Pufferfruits with the Xenochromatic Armored Crab ability.
- Swim to the middle of all the Pufferfruits before casting your skill.

You’ll easily find a Pufferfruit challenge right across the Fontaine Pale Forgotten Glory Domain.
=Challenge Tips=
Pufferfruit Challenge: The challenge will form three Pufferfruit groups that are apart from each other. You are limited to destroying all the Pufferfruit within 3 attacks to complete the challenge.
First, we need to obtain the ability of Xenochromatic Armored Crab. Using this ability will form a shield around the active character and deal AoE DMG centered on them, which is ideal for destroying the Pufferfruits.
You’ll find many Armored Crabs wandering around the Pufferfruit challenge. After using a Normal Attack, if you spot the shell-shaped skill icon on your skill bar, you’ve successfully obtained the ability.
After starting the Pufferfruit challenge, we need to swim to the center of each Pufferfruit cluster then use the Armored Crab ability to destroy the whole cluster in one go. There’s no time limit for this challenge, so you can take your time finding just the right spot to meet the attack limit.
Do this three times to complete the Pufferfruit challenge and obtain an Exquisite Chest.
There are other Pufferfruit challenges in the waters of Fontaine. With this tip, they won’t be a problem for you anymore~
