Hey there Trailblazers~ They say that Fu Xuan is one of the best survival support characters, but why exactly it that? How does one go about building her? In the following guide, I’ll be evaluating the character from her mechanics, loadouts, and team setup~ I hope this will help you understand her better!![]()

=Character Build TL;DR=
For those without the patience to go through everything, I’ll be recommending @Yaya-Bronya’s Fu Xuan Build Infographic here.

=Full Analysis=
Trace Analysis
Her Skill allows her to distribute some DMG taken by her allies over to her and increases Max HP and CRIT Rate for all allies, making this her core ability. Her Talent reduces DMG taken by all allies, and provides powerful self-healing combined with her Ultimate.
Fu Xuan’s Trace leveling priority is: Skill = Talent > Ultimate > Basic ATK. For the three Bonus Abilities, you should unlock as many as you can.
Skill

Fu Xuan’s core ability, recommended to max this one out first. It provides DMG reduction as well as Max HP and CRIT Rate buffs and is one of the strongest support abilities.
[1] DMG Distribute Mechanic
Distribute shares some of the DMG taken by Fu Xuan’s allies before DMG realization to her. The specific mechanic is Fu Xuan and her ally will each take a certain amount of DMG, and this DMG will be calculated independently based on their own DEF and DMG mitigation. Apart from flat DMG, any DoT DMG suffered by her allies will also be Distributed to Fu Xuan.
This ability essentially gives her allies an additional DMG mitigation multiplier block in the calculations. With such a powerful mechanic, Fu Xuan will undoubtedly do a great job at protecting her allies, but at the cost of her own survivability. Therefore, Fu Xuan needs to ensure her own safety through the healing on her Talent and the additional Talent healing trigger count from her Ultimate.
Equip Fu Xuan with Relics that boost HP to make her incredibly tanky on top of the healing from her Talent.
[2] Fu Xuan’s Support Ability
Other than fulfilling her role duty as a survival support and protecting her allies, Fu Xuan also has other support utilities. When affected by the Matrix of Prescience, her allies will also gain a boost to Max HP and CRIT Rate.
- Boosting Max HP will further improve the survivability of her allies. It can also provide additional support to characters like Blade and Arlan, whose mechanics are tied to the HP stat.
- Boosting CRIT Rate is pretty straightforward, it simply increases the minimum DPS of the team. With proper gearing, you can even achieve full CRIT on your Main DPS, allowing for more focus on other stats for their Relics, so overall it is a great buff.
Although her Basic ATK and Ultimate scale with Max HP, typically you won’t be equipping DPS gear on Fu Xuan, so she has limited performance in dealing DMG. Even so, her support capabilities is more than enough to secure her spot as a survival support.
Talent

Fu Xuan’s Talent lowers DMG taken by all allies and can restore some HP for Fu Xuan once her HP is lowered past a certain threshold. This is the main method that Fu Xuan uses to keep herself healthy as she takes Distributed DMG from across the team.
This healing effect will be immediately activated and cut into the Action Order when Fu Xuan reaches the HP% required for it, similar to Clara’s counter-attack. However, if Fu Xuan is CC’d, the healing will only occur after Fu Xuan breaks out of the CC. If the enemy immediately follows the CC on Fu Xuan with a huge burst of DMG, it’s highly likely that Fu Xuan will be downed, so getting CC’d is very detrimental to her.
Ultimate

Ultimate deals DMG to the enemy, but its potency is not that amazing, being more of an added benefit to the real meat on the bone – the added trigger count of the healing on her Talent. This will help Fu Xuan keep healing herself and survive with the Talent.
Basic ATK & Technique

Technique prevents the team from entering combat when attacked for 20s and is an incredibly handy ability when roaming the map.
Upon entering battle with this ability active, Matrix of Prescience will be activated and can effectively prevent allies from losing HP before Fu Xuan’s turn, so the Technique is also useful in saving Skill Points and buffing the team with some early protection.
Bonus Abilities

- Bonus Ability 1
You can cast her Skill again when the Skill is active for extra Energy. This gives her perfect Matrix of Prescience uptime. The Energy Regeneration from this Trace will help Fu Xuan cast her Ultimate more frequently. In desperate scenarios, you can even chain cast her Skill for quick Energy Regeneration.
- Bonus Ability 2
With this Trace unlocked, casting Fu Xuan’s Ultimate will restore HP for all allies. This adds the ability for Fu Xuan to further mitigate DMG for her allies, but it’s no comparison to what an Abundance character can do.
- Bonus Ability 3
With this Trace unlocked, all allies gain CC immunity for the current action every time the Matrix of Prescience activates. This type of ability works even better than dispels because you won’t run the risk of losing actions because of untimely dispels.
This Bonus Ability is also not limited to one’s own Effect RES. It can defend against one CC for any ally. For example, when against AoE CC (such as Decaying Shadow’s multi-Imprisonment), Fu Xuan can help resist them all and you’ll never have to worry about having multiple characters CC’d and team wiped.
Every time Fu Xuan activates her Skill, this CC immunity only works once. When against enemies that like to cast a lot of CC, you can activate Matrix of Prescience again after resisting the initial CC to get ready for the next one. This is an incredibly powerful mechanic.
DMG mitigation, DMG share, Max HP boost, CRIT Rate boost, healing, Energy Regeneration, CC immunity… combining all these utilities, Fu Xuan surpasses typical survival supports by a mile.

=Eidolon Summary=

Eidolon Review:
E1: Activating her Skill also increases CRIT DMG by 30%. This directly improves DMG dealt by her team.
E2: Team survival Eidolon. Unlike Bailu, any character that took a killing blow can be revived, meaning a potential for mass revival. With this Eidolon on top of the DMG mitigation and Distribution from her Skill, it would be a challenge for anyone to wipe Fu Xuan’s team.
E3: Skill Lv. +2, Talent Lv. +2.
E4: When affected by Matrix of Prescience, Fu Xuan regenerates Energy when allies are attacked. A straightforward rotation improvement.
E5: Ultimate Lv. +2, Basic ATK Lv. +1.
E6: Maximizes Fu Xuan’s DPS, turning Fu Xuan into more than just a survival support. If you pair E6 Fu Xuan with Blade, you can get absolutely insane multipliers on Fu Xuan’s Ultimate. This is an Eidolon reserved for whales that want to try something fun.
Conclusion:
E0 Fu Xuan is perfectly capable of handling everything with her kit and casual players should stay at E0. Players with enough resources can consider getting her to E1 for the best value. If you want to max out her support capability, E2 is enough. E6 is strictly a dumb fun DPS Eidolon for whales.

=Compatible Light Cones Analysis=

- She Already Shut Her Eyes: Signature LC, best fit.
Increases the wearer's Max HP by 24% and Energy Regeneration Rate by 12%. With Energy Regeneration Rate Link Rope equipped, you’ll have one Ultimate cast every three turns if you get hit once.
When the wearer's HP is reduced, all allies' DMG dealt increases by 9%, lasting for 2 turn(s). This implies that Fu Xuan can provide a permanent 9% DMG boost for her allies.
The HP restoration at the start of every wave helps her team take on new waves of enemies when challenging Memory of Chaos.
This Light Cone increases Max HP for all allies, improves Fu Xuan’s rotation, and provides DMG boost and HP restoration for the team. It’s no doubt the Light Cone that’s made for Fu Xuan’s kit.
- Texture of Memories: Recommended at high Superimposition levels. Texture of Memories from Herta’s Store can improve Fu Xuan’s own survivability.
- Moment of Victory: Gives Fu Xuan a high DEF boost. The Distribution mechanic requires Fu Xuan to have high enough DEF to keep herself alive, so the DEF boost on this Light Cone is also highly useful to Fu Xuan.
- We Are Wildfire: Provides DMG reduction for all allies, improving Fu Xuan’s support capability.
- Landau’s Choice: Recommended at high Superimposition levels. The Light Cone has a taunt buff and lowers DMG taken by the wearer, which all fits nicely into Fu Xuan’s kit.

=Compatible Relics Analysis=
Since taking DMG from Distribute does not count as getting attacked, Fu Xuan can’t make the most of the Longevous Disciple 4-pc bonus. Therefore, the best loadout for Fu Xuan currently are 2+2 Cavern Relic mixes.
- DPS Loadout: Genius of Brilliant Stars 2-pc + Longevous Disciple 2-pc
- Tank Loadout: Messenger Traversing Hackerspace 2-pc/Longevous Disciple 2-pc/Guard of Wuthering Snow 2-pc/Knight of Purity Palace 2-pc, you can mix and match however you like between these 2-pc sets. When selecting, it’s recommended to prioritize Relic pieces with the sub stats you need.

- Effective Stats Analysis:
HP: The most important stat for Fu Xuan.
DEF and DMG Mitigation: Improves Fu Xuan’s tankiness and stops her from getting one-shot.
SPD: Increases SP generation efficiency and speeds up her Energy gain.
Outgoing Healing & Energy Regeneration Rate: Improves the passive healing on Fu Xuan.
Effect RES: Ensures uptime on Matrix of Prescience.
CRIT Stats: Not very useful.
Special Caution:
Passerby of Wandering Cloud: Fu Xuan has decent healing and she can already almost fully heal herself with her Talent. With Passerby of Wandering Cloud, she’ll be able to fully heal herself. However, the actual benefit of doing so isn’t as good as having more DMG mitigation and DEF on her. Increasing Fu Xuan’s Outgoing Healing will not boost the healing on allies from her Bonus Ability either, so this set is considered mathematically good, but not very useful in actual combat.

=Team Setup Analysis=
Fu Xuan’s advantage as a survival support:
- She can keep the DMG Distribution up at all times because the duration on her Skill only ticks down during her own turn, so you don’t have to worry over high SPD teammates losing the buff with multiple actions in the same turn.
- Reliable DMG share mechanic. It’s hard for any teammate to be one-shot.
- Great Auto-battle experience, there’s no need to worry over cast timing of her Skill.
- She also provides Max HP and CRIT Rate boost for all allies apart from DMG Distribution. This helps lower stat requirements when organizing teammate loadouts.
Recommended Team Setup
- Fu Xuan Quantum Team

1. Fu Xuan can form all Quantum, triple Quantum, or duo Type teams with Silver Wolf.
2. You can pick Seele or Qingque as Main DPS. Seele is a squishy and speedy Main DPS with multiple actions and high demand for CRIT Rate. Fu Xuan is a particular good fit for a Seele who doesn’t have the signature Light Cone.
3. Fu Xuan triple Quantum team has a flexible 4th spot that can change based on enemy Weakness. When the enemy doesn’t have Quantum Weakness, you should pick your support based on existing Weaknesses on the enemy for reliable application.
- Blade + Fu Xuan Duo Type Team

1. Due to the special Weakness application mechanic of Quantum teams, having two Combat Types in your setup will help you reliably apply the Weakness you need.
2. Fu Xuan boosts Max HP, which increases Blade’s DMG. She also boosts CRIT Rate which lowers the CRIT stat requirement on his loadout, making it even possible to achieve 100% CRIT Rate.
3. Fu Xuan’s DMG Distribution will help Blade take less DMG when attacked, helping Blade survive potential one-shots and triggers the charge count on his Talent. However, this slows down his DMG taken counter, but it’s mostly fine because he’ll be taking DMG every time he uses his Skill.
4. Though Fu Xuan’s team healing won’t be as good as Abundance characters’, Blade can still optimize his Ultimate DMG through his self-healing.
Only potential con of this setup: As a Preservation character, Fu Xuan has the highest innate taunt value among all Paths. This will make it less likely for Blade to get hit and therefore, harder for him to gain charges on his Talent.
Combat Analysis: In the typical Blade + Bronya + Silver Wolf + Luocha setup, Blade’s likelihood to get hit is around 29.4%; After switching to Fu Xuan, this likelihood decreases to 26.3%; Fu Xuan’s likelihood to be hit when wearing Landau’s Choice or Moment of Victory is 20%. Overall, Fu Xuan’s introduction doesn’t take away too much from Blade’s chance to get hit, even if you put taunt-related Light Cones on her. If you consider AoE attacks from enemies, this effect is further mitigated.
- Standard DPS Team
Apart from Yanqing and Arlan who must have shield supports, and Clara who must be hit to be useful, all other DPS characters are good matches for Fu Xuan.
Other than team DMG reduction and DMG Distribution, the Matrix of Prescience also provides a CRIT Rate boost, which is very useful in many scenarios. This gives Fu Xuan a way of boosting team DMG, and it’s only not that useful in DoT setups.
Therefore, Fu Xuan has quite a lot of team comp possibilities as a highly versatile survival support.
