In Chinese lang “原神” translates as the Original God ( Primordial One ),
if read the other way around, it reads like “深渊” - Abyss.
原神 - yuán shén - Original God ( Primordial One ),
深渊 - shēnyuān - Abyss.
Perhaps that's why we meet inverted statues in the story.
