What I mean with this and I believe many could have the same feeling, is that I am not sad that they die.
In Tingyuns case, you as the player dont see any signs of the tragedy that happens with Tingyun. The whole time you journy with her she is a observer. Which helps you here and there and tells you a bit about herself and the place you curently are. I had the feeling that I was building a realtionship with her, from strangers to friends or partners.
So for me, here "death" was a sad one, a *** moment but I was so upset of the death that I could not accept that she is gone. I literly searched in google if she is truly dead.
Now in Fireflys case, it was obvious. The first time you meat her she offers guidence, a little banter and than comes Sampo/ Sparkle which tells you that she is not what she is showing you. Like what that is just 15 min after you meet her. And where it comes more obvious that she dies is at the top of the building where you have this sweet moment with her, was nice really well made but come on at this point she has already the red flag.
In her death scene it was more of a shock how it happend than that it happens, more of a *** why so fast and that both Archon and Swan literly forces you, to go one, you as player can do some angry choices in the Archon dialog, and i felt that you get some remorsful response from her like she is tiered that it happend.
Now good, ok, she is dead. Literly 10 min later you meet the IPC guy which he tells you that he will be showing you the truth of Penacony. Even Swan hipes it up that it will change your perspective of this place.
Only to see that Robin dies -_-. Like why. Why. why.
Her death is like 'At this point I dont care'.
It was a *** moment and truly, a second death now, I dont care anymore.
At the end where you see her brother, you get to know, that he knew she died and I believe that he knew she would die. Its just a hunch but, lets wait and see .
For the end I believe that some are lieing. Or that all are lieng you know from Swan, Archon and the IPC guy that everybody is lieing in Penacony. And even Swan, Archon lie.
So why cant 'death' or even the family dream lie to or even the whole Penacony is a lie. So take it with a grain of salt the deaths that happend it can be a lie to than who says that the MC was/ is not awake this whole time.
