Overview
Stellaron Hunter: Sam is a Boss Enemy in Honkai: Star Rail that was introduced in Version 2.0, serving as a required boss for the Trailblazer Missions. The Boss' main danger is its ability to switch 'forms', providing it with stronger attacks and limiting what you can do without taking damage. The fight isn't too hard (especially compared to the next boss in the story) but does require some careful planning to complete without casualty. It is one of the two Boss Enemies in the Stellaron Hunters faction.
As a regular Boss Enemy, Stellaron Hunter: Sam cannot be found in the overworld in any way.

Extra Notes
Throughout the rest of this guide, I will be referring to Stellaron Hunter: Sam as Sam.
Sam's main danger is the ability to enter a special state called Secondary Combustion. During this state he has a wider range of moves and is able to provide a new ailment to your skill points. He will act twice during Secondary Combustion.
For F2P teams, Serval is able to deal with Sam's Lightning weakness and deal additional DoT at the beginning of each turn with the Shocked status effect. Qingque is able to deal with Sam's Quantum weakness, buffing herself to deal more damage as she gains more Tiles from her Skill, Talent and Ultimate. Yukong is able to round out this trio, dealing with Sam's Imaginary weakness and buffing herself and allies with her Roaring Bowstrings. For other general characters to use, The Trailblazer is able to be fully upgraded for free, making them extremely useful to deal more damage. Natasha is able to heal the party, which is useful even if Sam can limit the amount of healing the party receives. Both March 7th and The Trailblazer (Preservation) are able to shield allies, making them useful to lower the damage squishier teammates take.
For the luckier or richer Trailblazers, there are also many more options that can help deal with Sam. Bailu and Jing Yuan are both able to attack Sam for Lightning Damage, with Bailu serving as a healer and Jing Yuan serving as a DPS unit thanks to the Lightning-Lord he can summon. Kafka can additionally increase the damage done by DoT as well as dealing Lightning Damage. Silver Wolf's Quantum Damage and her ability to induce a new weakness in the enemy allow for much more versatile teams, allowing for multi-hit units of different elements to shred Sam's defences. Sparkle and Seele are both capable of utilizing Critical Hits to increase their damage output, while Fu Xuan can both increase CRIT Rate and Max HP. Welt and Dan Heng • Imbibitor Lunae are able to shred through Sam's defences with multi-hit Imaginary attacks and Luocha can be used for an extra bit of healing as well.
Stellaron Hunter: Sam is weak to Lightning, Quantum and Imaginary Damage. He slightly resists Physical and Fire Damage.

Achievements
There are two achievements related to the battle against Stellaron Hunter: Sam:
- Ignite My Heart, Inflame My Flesh ~ During the battle against Stellaron Hunter: Sam, use Skill Points with the Combustion effect to reduce 1 allies' HP to below 5%.
- Quiet Burning ~ During the battle against Stellaron Hunter: Sam, Sam did not use DHGDR: Supernova Overload when their Secondary Combustion state is dispelled.
Writer's Notes
Guess who's back from the underworld! I only started and beat Penacony two days ago, and I already think it's peak storytelling. Did I cry when Firefly died? Yes. Does that make me any less cool? Also yes. All jokes aside, I absolutely love every single character except for Sunday and I am super excited for the next update thanks to the cliff-hanger at the end of this update. The whole bit with Firefly was adorable and made the story feel a lot more personal than the other three arcs, which was a nice change of pace. With all that said, I'm looking forward to making more guides on this game, so feel free to comment for any guides you would like to see next.

Make her playable, MiHoYo. Please.
