I mean, to be honest, didnt he basically get replaced by Xilonen?
Xilonen provides MASSIVE Res Shred and other buffs with her signature and C2 that cant compate to him which kinda invalidates the res shred from Zhongli.
Secondly, Zhongli’s main role is to provide a shield and therefore keep your characters alive and also provide interruption resistance. Doesn’t Xilonen do the same? Her Burst heals masisvely, I’d even compare my current Xilonen to multiple built Kokomi’s I’ve seen - she’s sure as hell keeping everyone alive. Xilonen can also just create crystallize shields which works just as well for interruption resistance.
You could say that Zhongli deals more damage through his burst and that it can basically petrify enemies. But as a Full-Support character, why does his damage matter at all? He’s not meant to deal damage. And the petrification is really just there to make up for the amount of DPS time he takes so its pretty mid if you ask me. Youd still finish whatever you’re doing in the same time since itll cancel each other out.
I always see him on meta lists though which concerns me. I studied his entire kit. Am I missing something? Why do people say he’s basically on Kazuhas and Nahidas level? I beg to differ. But incase Im wrong, please tell me. I am infact a meta player, I already got my favorite off-meta characters. So I just pull for meta ones now. I’m wondering if Zhongli is really as OP as everyone says he is cause I don’t see it.
