BOSS Mechanism Overview

1. Tenebrous Papilla randomly transforms into other creatures from the Teyvat world to attack the player, adopting their similar abilities.

Counter Strategy: Each time the boss changes form, it will have a brief flashing animation (immune to damage). During this period, players can pull back to increase the distance from the boss and apply any buffs (if available) to defeat the BOSS easier.

2. During the battle, the boss will activate a special frequency shield, making it immune to all damage. It will also prevent any skill that requires hits to deal damage and restore energy (e.g., Raiden Shogun's Elemental Skill). The shield can only be broken after a certain number of elemental attacks. Nightsoul attacks count as triple attacks. Failure to break the shield in time will result in significant health loss (ignores the shield).

Counter Strategy: The challenge increases the requirement for team composition and weapon selection. You cannot simply rely on weapons like Favonius or Sacrificial series for energy regeneration to maintain the damage cycle. It is recommended to use characters with high-frequency elemental attacks (e.g., Keqing, Yelan, Clorinde) and Natlan characters (Chasca, Ororon, Kinich) to deal damage. Since most of the boss's damage ignores shields, shield characters are not recommended for the team.

*TIPS: During the boss's shield phase, only elemental attacks will have an effect. If the shield is not broken in time, the team will suffer significant losses. Be sure to break the shield!!

3.Tenebrous Papilla will ignore shields and deal damage to attackers (to the entire team), with very high damage .

Counter Strategy: If players cannot defeat the boss quickly, it is recommended to include a healing character in the off-field position to provide health regeneration, such as Barbara or Sangonomiya Kokomi.

4.After the boss's shield is broken, it will enter a paralysis state for about 20 seconds. After this time, it will recover and revert to its original form.

Counter Strategy: To effectively break the shield, the team should balance high shield-breaking efficiency and DPS dealing ability. It is recommended that players retain a DPS cycle before the boss activates its shield, so that they can finish off the boss during the paralysis state and achieve a quick kill.

Chasca + Furina + Bennett + Ororon

Chasca's Elemental Skill releases six bullets, all of which are Nightsoul attacks. When paired with Ororon, who also provides Nightsoul attacks and can stay in the air, reducing ground damage from the boss, the shield can be broken quickly.

Kinich + Emilie + Xiangling/Thoma + Bennett

Kinich's Elemental Skill provides high-frequency Nightsoul and elemental attacks. Paired with other high-frequency elemental damage dealers in the team, this composition can efficiently break the shield.

Recommended Team for Rookies: *Natlan character 1 + Barbara + Xiangling + Bennett.

The core strategy is to use the Nightsoul attacks from the Natlan character to break the shield. The healing from Barbara increases rookie's survival chances, and this team also includes off-field DPS as well as element applying.
