Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker Walkthrough --- Genshin Impact

Overview

The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker is a Normal Boss that was introduced in Genshin Impact Version 5.3 - Incandescent Ode of Resurrection. She is available to battle as soon as you enter Natlan, located in a cave that has no requirements to unlock. Although the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker isn't too bulky, team composition is key when defeating this boss due to her immunities to certain elements during a certain attack. Aside from this one attack, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker is a boss with easily telegraphed attacks that can easily be avoided after the first few times seeing them. The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker is a Normal Boss in the Sauroform Tribal Warriors Enemy Group, serving as a Normal Boss variant of the Spiritspeaker Warriors and the Iktomisaurus Warriors.

The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker is located in a cave to the south of the Statue of the Seven in Tezcatepetonco Range and just underneath the Stone Stele Records.

Archive Bio

"A priestess of the Masters of the Night-Wind who has lived apart from her tribe, honing her abilities in utter solitude. It is said that her Spiritspeaking powers surpass those of ordinary priests and shamans, a result of having had the protection of the Masters of the Night-Wind's Wayob bestowed upon her. Both a blessing and a curse, these powers were at first beyond her ability to control, which was why she set out to master them in isolation from her tribe. Though she has since done so, to this day she still lives in seclusion, a habit that has earned her a reputation as a loner and a recluse. Rumor has it, however, that she is more than willing to teach those who seek her guidance — though always on her own terms..."

Battle Notes

The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker naturally has very high Cryo RES, meaning that Cryo Characters are a poor choice for this battle. Even when she is stunned, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will have more Cryo RES than usual, meaning that there is no reason to bring a Cryo DPS or Sub-DPS Character to this battle.

During the second part of her attack Radiant Reflections the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will turn invisible and summon four Radiant Reflections that you must battle instead. These Radiant Reflections have a permanent Cryo Shield and are considered to be Frozen, meaning that Elemental Reactions are required to defeat them. They are impervious to Cryo, Hydro and Dendro attacks, so be sure to bring a DPS Character who doesn't utilize these Elements. Radiant Reflections take double DMG from Electro Attacks and quadruple DMG from Pyro Attacks, so a Pyro or Electro DPS is the best option. The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will be stunned after all four Radiant Reflections are destroyed.

When it comes to F2P units, the brand new Traveler (Pyro), Amber and Xiangling are your best bets for DPS units. Both Xiangling and the Traveler (Pyro) can attack off-field, meaning that even if you have another dedicated DPS Character you can still deal the necessary Pyro DMG needed to quickly defeat the Radiant Reflections. If unavailable, Lisa and the Traveler (Electro) can also be used to deal extra Electro DMG to the Radiant Reflections. Avoid using Barbara for anything other than healing, and do not use Kaeya, Collei, the Traveler (Dendro) or the Traveler (Hydro) as DPS units at all because of the Radiant Reflections. As always, Noelle's shields are a useful addition to trigger Crystallization.

Otherwise, just bring your hardest hitting Pyro Characters to deal with the Radiant Reflections as quick as possible. From Bennet to Mavuika, any Pyro DPS is an excellent choice for this fight as they can even be underleveled and still make short work of the Radiant Reflections. Both Ororon and Citlali are able to stun the Radiant Reflections and remove parts of their shields with their Charged Attack scans, making them a decent choice to bring as well (Ororon moreso than Citlali). For the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker herself, just use any other units you may want to include in the team with the exception of any Cryo Characters.

Moveset - Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker

Paint Splash --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will hold her glowing hand in front of her before swinging her paintbrush around her and dealing 25% Cryo DMG. after this, she will send a wave of paint in a conal AoE in front of her, dealing 100% Cryo DMG. This attack can be avoided by dashing away from the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker as she holds her hand out in front of her.

Double Sweep --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will swing her paintbrush in an arc in front of her. The first hit deals 60% Cryo DMG while the second hit deals 75% Cryo DMG. This attack can be evaded by dashing away from the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker as the animation for the move starts or dashing behind her.

Snowball --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will use her paintbrush to paint a large snowball before throwing it at the player, dealing 95% Cryo DMG if it hits you. This attack must be dodged by dashing to the side of the snowball or by using invincibility frames to dash through it. The attack is easily telegraphed as the animation for summoning the snowball is rather long.

Gliding Sweep --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will launch herself into the air with a blast of paint that deals 36% Cryo DMG in its radius. Afterwards she will dash towards the player and swing her paintbrush twice, each hit dealing 85% Cryo DMG if hit. This attack can be dodged by dashing away from the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker as she charges her jump and again by dashing away as she attempts to strike you.

Chilling Blast --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will summon up to three circular AoE markers underneath the player that will explode into a spire of paint after a brief moment, dealing 100% Cryo DMG if caught in the blast. Fortunately the markers take time to fully appear so there is plenty of time to dash out of them.

Radiant Reflections --- The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will move to the center of the arena and slam her paintbrush down, creating a blast that deals 75% Cryo DMG if hit. this blast will create four circles around the arena that will later explode and deal 25% Cryo DMG. Each of these circles will subsequently summon a Radiant Reflection each. This attack can be dodged by dashing away from the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker and avoiding the circles at the edges of the arena. The Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker will be invisible and invulnerable until all four Radiant Reflections are destroyed, after which she will be stunned and have a heavily lowered RES to all Elements.

Moveset - Radiant Reflection

Radiant Reflections --- All Radiant Reflections are considered Frozen and are defeated by breaking their Cryo Shields. Blunt Attacks and Elemental Reactions can destroy these shields, but they are invulnerable to Physical, Cryo, Hydro and Dendro DMG. Electro DMG is twice as effective against these Cryo Shields and Pyro DMG is 4x effective. The Radiant Reflections always have a 12.5% ATK boost. The Radiant Reflections can be stunned by Iktomisaurs and Masters of the Night-Wind when they use their charged attacks.

Double Sweep --- A Radiant Reflection will will swing its paintbrush in an arc in front of it. The first hit deals 60% Cryo DMG while the second hit deals 75% Cryo DMG. This attack can be evaded by dashing away from the Radiant Reflection as the animation for the move starts or dashing behind it.

Combo Attack --- All Radiant Reflections will work together to attack the player. All but the last will teleport towards the player one by one and swing their paintbrush, dealing 85% Cryo DMG. The last Radiant Reflection (or the only one if there is only one left) will then teleport to the player and create an explosion of paint, dealing 100% Cryo DMG. This attack can be evaded by dashing away from each Radiant Reflection as they teleport to you.

Drops

After you defeat the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker you will be able to spend 40 Original Resin to claim various rewards from the following item pool:

  • Shivada Jade (Cryo Character Ascension Material)

  • The Exile (3*4* Artifact Set)

In addition to the rewards from the above loot table, the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker also has a unique drop called the Talisman of the Enigmatic Land. This seems to be a talisman similar to the one that Citlali's Vision is attatched to. It can be used as Character Ascension Material for fellow Master of the Night-Wind Citlali.

Writer's Notes / Question of the Day

New update's peak. Enough said.

In all honesty though, the new fights are fun, the new Archon Quest is among the best, and the new Traveler is actually looking quite useful for off-field Pyro application. All of this is not even getting into the other new boss, but we'll get to that when we get to it. Anyway, I hope you all enjoy the new update and exploring with Citlali!

Hope you all enjoyed the guide!
