From Genshin Impact Character Guide

Ifa

The first tall Anemo character debuts on Version 5.6! Ifa is a veterinarian from Tlalocan. He had a passion to protect and help saurians, not just from Flower-Feather Clan, but also on other saurians from other tribes. According to him, they are the future of Natlan. He has a Qucusaur pet named Cacucu, who also assist him during in his clinic and considers itself as Ifa's brother. During your encounter with Cacucu, you will learn that he caught some catchphrase that Ifa always said.

Hey there. I'm Ifa, a sauro-vet from the Flower-Feather Clan. You've probably heard some things about me already, but it's all good. Whatever impression you have of me, I say let's wipe the slate clean and just get to know each other.

Popsicle's Short Review

▲PROS: Ifa is a unique character that offers greater flexibility in combat roles. You can use him as Support, Swirl DPS, or Anemo DPS. Regardless of the combat roles you want for Ifa, he can maximize all of the Off-field DPS that can use coordinated attacks to further amplify the reactions, such as Xingqiu and Yelan. Similar to most of the Anemo units, he is easy to build and doesn't need a lot of investment, especially when you're building him as your healer and Swirl unit. His passive recommends him to be placed in Electro-Charge team compositions, which makes Ororon a favorable unit to join alongside him. Lastly, he can fight while up in the air!

▼CONS: Due to its passive, he is somewhat restricted from being on Electro-Charged and Swirl team compositions and having another Natlan unit in his team to be more effective in combat. Additionally, he doesn't have any interruption resistance while up in the air, making him vulnerable to ranged opponents. If you're planning to pair Ifa up with Furina, his healing can't keep up with the amount of HP being drained by Furina's Skill, recommending him to use another healer unit. His crowd control mechanic is weaker compared to other Anemo units, and he requires a lot of on-field time to heal your team.

Combat Profile

✦ Normal Attack | Rite of Dispelling Winds

➤ Ifa's Normal Attack allows him to perform 3 attacks using his pistol, while his Charged Attack consumes a bit of his Stamina and fires off a shot, both dealing Anemo DMG. His damage multiplier is not the best, but you can use it to drive elemental reactions on Electro-Charge, like Xingqiu, Yelan, Beidou, and Raiden Shogun. His recommended combos will be discussed in the Rotation Tips Section.

✦ Elemental Skill | Airborne Disease Prevention

❝When rendering medical assistance, you've gotta address the root problem first. What's that they say? Save lives first, treat the wounds later?

You got it bro!❠

➤ Ifa's Elemental Skill is where you can find his healing capability. Upon using, Ifa will enter Nightsoul's Blessing state, where he will hover using Cacucu's help. When you use his Normal Attack, you will be firing Tonicshots, which heal your team based on Ifa's Elemental Mastery plus extra DMG that scales on his ATK. In combat, you're going to be using his Skill most of the time, especially when you're planning to use Ifa as your Swirld/Anemo DPS. You have an option to build him with ATK to further increase his Tonicshot DMG, or use Elemental Mastery to increase his Tonicshot Healing. Personally, you can have both of them when farming for his artifacts since you can have a hybrid damage healer at your disposal, removing the additional healer in your team, especially when you're not pairing him with Furina.

➤ Two things to note are that

  1. Compared with Chasca, Ifa's hover distance is quite lower than Chasca's (due to Ifa's height). This allows him to be susceptible to ranged melee attacks with long weapons, making your vulnerable in battle. You need to keep your distance when fighting opponents (and move around when you have Iansan on your team), or else, you will come back down to the ground.
  2. Ifa can't do Plunging Attacks to dismount from Cacucu if you use his Skill again or until the Nightsoul Blessing expires, which is again, because of his height.

✦ Elemental Burst | Compound Sedation Field

❝We must calm our patients down before starting treatment... even if that sometimes means resorting to bullets. Let's get 'em, Cacucu.

I gotcha, bro!❠

➤ Ifa's Elemental Burst lets him fire a Therapeutic Sedative at an opponent, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Anemo DMG. It also allows light opponents to be pulled by the wind current, restraining them from moving for a moment. It is necessary to allow those opponents to be affected by the PHEC elements to deal additional damage (in the form of Sedation Mark) of the corresponding type.

Passive Ability

✦ Utility Passive | Tactical Warm Compress Bandaging

❝First aid kit at the ready.❠

➤ It allows Ifa to heal the current active party or indwelt saurian by consuming 10 Phlogiston if they reach an HP of less than 40%. This only takes place when you're in Natlan and won't trigger outside of it, in Domains, Trounce Domains, or in Spiral Abyss. This is only useful when you're travelling across Natlan.

✦ Night Realm's Gift Passive | Focused Emergency Rescue

❝If you need help with carrying this stuff, I'll get Cacucu on it.❠

➤ Unique to Natlan characters, he will use Phlogiston to use her special movement ability. You can use Nightsoul Transmission whenever your active character is currently at a certain height in the air.

✦ 1st Ascension Passive | Field Medic's Vision

❝Is this, like, a warm-up or something?❠

➤ His A1 Passive allows a team-wide buff when they trigger Swirl or Electro-Charged DMG when Ifa is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state. There is a total of 150 Rescue Essential points that you can gain, so it's better if you put another Natlan character in his team if you want to you plan to use Ifa in Swirl and Electro-Charged team composition. Note that you need to have a high Elemental Mastery if you're planning to maximize his A1 Passive.

✦ 4th Ascension Passive | Mutual Aid Agreement

❝The gun least drawn is the one you'd better keep in good working order... Oh, dude, what am I saying — I'm a medic, not a warrior. I leave my guns holstered unless I absolutely need them."

➤ It's a small buff to Ifa's Elemental Mastery value on his affix if someone in his party triggers Nightsoul Bursts. It is already guaranteed that you will use his A4 Passive as Ifa's in your team.

Constellations

✦ C1 - Vitiferous Elixir's Concoction

➤ This lowers the Energy Recharge Ifa needs, as it will restore 6 Energy whenever his Elemental Skill hits an opponent. This improves the uptime of his Burst. This further improves its effectiveness when Ifa plays as an on-field driver.

✦ C2 - Guiding Spirit of Ballistic Prayer

➤ This improves the number of Rescue Essential points that you can receive by granting 4 additional Rescue Essential points for every party that has more than 60 Nightsoul points, and increases the limit of this effect from 150 to 200. For players who don't want to progress further, you can stop at Ifa's C2.

✦ C3 - Rebuttal in Negotiations With the Night

➤ It further increases his Elemental Skill's Talent Level to 15.

✦ C4 - Decayed Vessel's Permutation

➤ It further increases the crowd control and gains additional 100 Elemental Mastery after using Burst.

✦ C5 - Vow of Universal Coexistence

➤ It further increases his Elemental Burst's Talent Level to 15.

✦ C6 - Oath on a Feathered Knot

➤ It allows the opponent's Anemo RES to be decreased whenever they're taking damage from his Burst. Additionally, it allows Venti to grant an Elemental RES that was absorbed, which boosts Venti's damage.

About Constellation

➤ Catena Opele = Opele Chain

➤ Ifa's constellation resembles an opele chain, used as a divination chain in traditional African and Afro-American religions. This religious system is notably being used in Ifá, which originates within the traditional religion of the Yoruba people. According to its theology, this divination gives the priest access to the teachings of Ọ̀rúnmìlà. The practice allows for the signs to be interpreted and provides guidance of the person's destiny and delivers advice based on the interpreted signs of the babalawo.

Build Section

Support / Swirl Driver

Build Notes

Ifa's most recommended build as it allows him to maximize his combat and utility kit. Building Ifa this way increases the potential damage done by his Swirl as well as increasing his potential healing output. As always, you can check his talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section.

In terms of the Main Affixes on your artifact set, please be reminded of the following notes

  • You can opt to use Energy Recharge on your Sands if you're planning to use Ifa's Burst more often. If you can't reach its recommended ER on the minor affixes on your artifacts, you can swap it with ER Sands with high values of Elemental Mastery on its minor affix.
  • Even though both can yield similar results, you can choose Healing Bonus on your Circlet if you're planning to squeeze out more healing from him, especially if you're running Furina alongside him. Make sure that you have a high Elemental Mastery on its minor affix.

Support / Swirl DPS Weapon Recommendation

Sunny Morning Sleep-In

➤ Ifa's recommended five-star weapon, as it increases his Swirl damage. Ifa can also reliably use the weapon's passive, which you can get up to 513 EM, which is pretty massive. If you're planning to use this weapon for Ifa, I highly suggest that you use ER Sands to balance out Ifa's overall attributes.

A Thousand Floating Dreams

➤ The amount of Elemental Mastery that you can get depends on whether you're running another Anemo unit in your team (which is really dependent on your playstyle). If Ifa is the only Anemo unit on his team, you will only get 265 EM, while having a second one increases it to 297. One of the key advantages of this weapon is that it gives additional Elemental Mastery to your team, which further increases the reaction damage that your team does.

Starcaller's Watch

➤ It gives a much higher Elemental Mastery that Ifa can get (up to 365 at R1). You can opt to use this weapon instead of A Thousand Floating Dreams if you only want to further increase his Elemental Mastery's overall attribute

Wandering Evenstar

➤ Ifa's recommended four-star weapon, as it gives a bonus ATK to his team that is scaled to his Elemental Mastery, which further increases the team's total damage output.

Sacrificial Fragments

➤ It has the highest amount of Elemental Mastery among its four-star weapon roster, which makes it a stat stick for Ifa. Its passive is useless on him.

Mappa Mare

➤ An F2P weapon that you can use to further increase his Elemental Mastery attribute. The passive also works well on Ifa to increase his personal damage.

Favonius Codex

➤ You can use this weapon to alleviate Ifa's Energy Recharge requirement, especially when you're planning to put him in energy-hungry teams. It also lowers Ifa's Energy Recharge and has a greater chance to maximize its passive to funnel more particles to him. Just like any Favonius weapon series, you need to build up his Crit Rate. The recommended Crit Rate value is already on the infographics on this Build Section.

Hakushin Ring

➤ If you're planning to use Ifa in Electro-Charged or Aggravate team compositions, Hakushin Ring is an F2P weapon that you can use to further increase its damage.

Magic Guide

➤ For new players, this is a good entry weapon for Ifa as it has the highest Elemental Mastery among the beginner weapon roster. The passive slightly increases the damage by a small margin, but it is a good weapon nonetheless.

Support / Swirl DPS Artifact Recommendation

Viridescent Venerer

➤ The go-to artifact set for any Anemo unit, including Ifa. It increases his Swirl damage and provides RES shredding, which makes it valuable for him. It is also recommended to use it on him even if he's placed in all-Natlan teams.

Viridescent Venerer | Artifact Set Guide
3,386

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City

➤ If someone holds a VV set, Ifa can use its secondary set, especially if he's on the team with a Natlan DPS/Sub-DPS unit.

Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City | Artifact Set Guide [v5.0]
7,768

Maiden Beloved

➤ If you want to squeeze out more healing for Ifa, this legacy set can be use for him.

Maiden Beloved | Artifact Set Guide
2,905

(2-pc) +80 Elemental Mastery set / +15% Healing Bonus/Effectiveness set

➤ It is a good transition set for Ifa if you're planning to have a hybrid build on him (EM/HB). Although the recommended set has been introduced, you can still use this combination, which still yields decent damage and healing from Ifa.

Instructor

➤ Ifa's beginner set, which new players can use it for a while until you decide which among the earlier sets mentioned you would want to pursue.

Anemo DPS

Build Notes

You can build Ifa as your Main DPS if he has access to higher constellation and good supports on his team. Although it is not recommended to build him this way, you have the option to use this guide, assuming that you're willing to invest in his kit. Additionally, his talent priority will switch to SKILL = NORMAL > BURST (especially when you unlocked C6)

Anemo DPS Weapon Recommendation

Cashflow Supervision

➤ Ifa's recommended five-star weapon as it provides high Base ATK, Crit Rate, and Normal Attack DMG increase. It's passive requires Furina to be in your team, and can take advantage of the ATK SPD as it can deal an extra Normal Attack during his rotation. Without Furina, this is also a good weapon for Ifa to get.

Tulaytullah's Remembrance

➤ It might be slightly worse if you manage to get a full-stack of Cashflow Supervision, but it is quite similar to his recommended five-star weapon since it has no HP-change requirement, making it more flexible in team compositions (teams without Furina).

Surf's Up

➤ Another weapon that Ifa can use because of its high Crit DMG. You can use it if you want to further increase his Normal Attack DMG. I recommend having Vaporize-Swirl teams if you're planning to use this weapon on him.

Tome of the Eternal Flow

➤ Another weapon that Ifa can use because of its high Crit DMG. It's an alternative to Cashflow Supervision. It's recommended to use your Charged Attack and Normal Attack hand on hand to maximize the buff this weapon's passive gives.

Vivid Notions

➤ It gives Ifa high Base ATK, Crit DMG, and ATK increase, which is perfect to increase his personal damage. Its passive won't do as much for Ifa.

Memory of Dust

➤ Assuming you have a dedicated Shielder for Ifa, this weapon becomes useful for him as it grants him the highest ATK buff that a weapon can give.

The Widsith

➤ The most recommended four-star weapon for Ifa, and it can rival some of the five-star weapon rosters mentioned in this section if you allow it to invest in its refinement materials. Although the Elemental Mastery increase is somewhat useless on this build, Ifa can take advantage of the ATK and Elemental DMG increase this weapon provides.

Solar Pearl

➤ The only catalyst Battle Pass weapon that you can use on Ifa due to the increase of Elemental Skill and Burst DMG upon using your Normal Attack. It is recommended to use N1 before casting your Burst and Skill.

Flowing Purity

➤ A forgeable weapon from Fontaine that you can use on him due to its high ATK, Base ATK, and Elemental DMG Bonuses that you can receive. However, it requires a dedicated healer for him to maximize the weapon's passive.

Ballad of the Boundless Blue

➤ Players who managed to get this weapon from the Limited Event can use this as an alternative to Flowing Purity because of the Normal Attack DMG buff that you can get plus the additional Energy Recharge substat that will aid you to use your Burst more often.

Royal Grimoire

➤ A not-so-famous weapon that you can use to further increase Ifa's ATK attribute value. It's increasing Crit Rate value upon dealing opponents is a great way to increase Ifa's Crit Rate value without investing too much in your Crit Rate.

Oathsworn Eye

➤ Another limited weapon that you can use on Ifa because of its ATK substat and Energy Recharge increase, whcih it is easy to trigger.

Anemo DPS Artifact Recommendation

Obsidian Codex

➤ It's the undefeated artifact set for any DPS that comes from Natlan. It's much better then using Viridescent Venerer.

Obsidian Codex | Artifact Set Guide [v5.0]
2,616

Marechaussee Hunter

➤ It's another choice that you can get for Ifa when you're planning to pair him up with Furina, although Obsidian Codex still a top choice for him.

Maréchaussée Hunter | Artifact Set Guide
3,012

Viridescent Venerer

➤ If you're planning to have an Off-field DPS unit galore with Ifa, Viridescent Venerer is still a viable choice.

Viridescent Venerer | Artifact Set Guide
3,386

(2-pc) +18% ATK set / +15% Anemo DMG Bonus set

➤ It is a good transition set for Ifa if you're still undecided which four-piece set you're going to use on him. Regardless, it is a good transition set for new players.

Synergy

The synergy section provides a detailed guide on how much synergistic that character is to ifa. Please adhere to the legends inside the infographics.

  • High Synergy refers to the character that can definitely be used in your team without any restrictions. You don't need investments in their constellation to make be synergize with the featured character on this guide.
  • Conditional Synergy refers to the character that you can use with some caveats, unlocking constellation, utilizing one of their passives, or requiring high investment in their kit. It is often used as an alternative if you don't have any characters that are synergistic with the featured character in this guide.
  • Low/No Synergy refers to the characters that don't synergize well with the featured character on this guide.
  • To Be Determined refers to the characters that aren't playable yet, but it is already confirmed to be playable within the version.

Reason for Conditional Synergy:

  • Yanfei can be paired with Ifa if you're planning to use her C4 to be Ifa's shielder. However, there are other sheilders that works best than Yanfei
  • Chasca, Wanderer, Heizou, and Xiao can be paired with Ifa only if you're have a decently built Faruzan in your team.

Notes for To Be Determined

  • Dahlia is an upcoming Hydro unit that will be released on Version 5.7. His kit is yet to be determined whether he synergizes well with Ifa. Please check his full character review and build guide for the updated guide.
  • Skirk is an upcoming Cryo unit that will be released on Version 5.7. Her kit is yet to be determined whether she synergizes well with Ifa. Please check her full character review and build guide for the updated guide.

Team Building

Here are some team compositions you may use for Ifa. If you can use these characters when building his team composition. It will differ depending on your character availability and preferred playstyle. Please in mind that you can use the Synergy section to help you decide your preferred team composition with him.

Rotation Tips

Ifa requires him to use his Burst then Skill after to maximize his damage potential.

For combos, you can use either spam NA x10 or x13 then Plunge at the end of the Skill's duration. This is his standard rotation combo for Support/Swirl DPS. You can use his swap the initial combination with Skill then spam your NA x13 then Burst if you're planning to maximize the buffs and damages done by your team (like Furina).

Community Insight

Conclusion

It's everyone's delight to have another Anemo unit in the game, and it is not just any Anemo unit, a TALL MALE Anemo unit. Most of the male Anemo characters are short (like Xiao), but Ifa's debut marks a deviation of male Anemo character's height. His kit is kinda similar with Mizuki - excellent with Swirl and provides healing to their team. However, Ifa excels on buffing Swirl and Electro-Charged reactions, which Genshin is trying us to use due to the recent character releases in the game. Outside of those mentioned reaction, Ifa is still a viable Anemo unit that you can use, either as a Support or Anemo DPS. Animal lovers would surely love having Ifa in their account because of his job as a veterinarian. However, his kit might dissuade other players to add Ifa in their team. Regardless, he is another reliable Anemo unit that you can use on your team.
