You could argue Kafka hasn’t been worth pulling for some time now, but with her recent buffs and the release of Hysilens, we may finally have that DOT comeback we’ve been waiting for.
So What’s Different Now?
Kafka’s buffs have been out for awhile but if you missed them, she basically detonates DOTs a lot more frequently with more follow up attacks and wider range on her skill. She also gives a massive attack buff to characters with high Effect Hit Rate, which all DOT characters will have.
These are nice updates that move her more toward a support role rather than main DPS. Still, it’s not quite enough to push the pre-Hysilens DOT team with Black Swan to the power level it needs to be. And so…
You’re Telling Me I Have to Pull Hysilens too…
Yup. Hysilens applies a crazy amount of all the DOT types, setting up Kafka to detonate them. This and some of her own debuffs are the big damage push that the DOT team (with Kafka as the core) needs.
If you don’t pull Hysilens, you will basically be stuck with the current underperforming Black Swan team. I guess you could argue Kafka would support any future DOT characters as well, but I would not bet on them making another one any time soon.
So Should YOU Pull Kafka?
This one is going to be just as easy to answer as the Hysilens post.
Pull Kafka If…
- You’re also pulling Hysilens.
- You’re delusional and think we will get more DOT characters in the future and you need Kafka for support.
- You’re a simp for evil women like me, to the point where I ended up E6-ing her.
Kafka is my favorite character, so it pains me to say she’s a niche support at this point. If you do want to invest in her and Hysilens though, I think they will be very strong… for now. In previous posts I’ve mentioned my long term concerns with DOT and I’ll probably come back to that at some point. In the meantime, enjoy the DOT comeback.
Obviously I’m not pulling Kafka since I have E6, but anyone else pulling her and Hysilens? Anyone planning on pulling her and NOT Hysilens?
