Back in v2.5 we had a slew of events and quests that required other quests be completed first. That probably didn't mean anything to most players but for the casual player it meant needing to complete tons of content in a short amount of time just to get through the new content.
Just as a list the v2.5 content required opening up and exploring Enkanomiya until every Teleport Waypoint was unlocked, do Ei's Character Quest 1 and Eula's Character Quest. It isn't so much to do for a gamer but it is several hours for a casual.
So thankfully it looks like this time MiHoYo's being much more gentle.

The new event seems to only require the Archon Quest up to escaping Ritou which is definitely needed because until then you can't freely explore Inazuma. But on top of that it looks like the event will bring up the events of the new Ei quest and also Kokomi's and Ayato's quests not to mention the event takes place after the end of the Sakoku Decree which can only happen once Ei abolishes it.
While it is still best to experience these other quests first to get the most out of the story doing it this way is definitely helpful to both casual gamers and newbies who still want to enjoy the events but wouldn't be able to get through all of that stuff in time.
This move does also point out the trouble with temporary events but it's a step in the right direction especially since content creators have had these story quests up since they released.
Are any of you still behind on some of these quests?
