Hey everybody! Let’s talk for a moment about where HoYo most likely got the name Nefer and how I believe I can prove it through their usage of symbolism. Nefertari or Nefertiti, both of which are ancient Egyptian names with meanings related to beauty. Nefertari translates to "beautiful companion" or "the most beautiful one" and belonged to the favorite wife of Ramesses II. Nefertiti means "the beautiful one has come" and was the chief wife of Akhenaten. Now that you’ve read this, think of Nefer’s eye for a moment, what is printed on it? That’s right, The eye of Horus!
Horus is the ancient Egyptian falcon-headed god of the sky, kingship, and protection, most famously known as the son of Osiris and Isis who battled his uncle, Set, to avenge his father and claim the throne of Egypt. He is a symbol of kingship, with the pharaoh considered the living incarnation of Horus. “His mythology”, is central to the concept of Egyptian divine kingship, representing the triumph of order over chaos.
