The struggles of a non-allogene

Playing through the Chasm quest gets a little uncomfortable as you learn more about the adventurer Zhiqiong. Her name means aspiring to become fine jade and that's really telling of who she is. As a normal human she doesn't have the elemental powers of Vision holders and she also doesn't have any of the other benefits like resistance to corruption either. You find her choking on the noxious air the further down you go. Still she refuses to rest and pushes on to make a name for herself. She calls on the legends of other famous adventurer's like the late Stanley to keep her motivated while she also admits she's jealous of people blessed with Visions. Her story continues to tell the struggles normal people on Teyvat go through when they see the feats that allogenes can perform.

The Rubicon is an actual place in our world. It's the name of a river in north Italy and it's where we got the phrase "crossing the Rubicon" when Julius Caesar made the decision to cross the river and continue his conquest into Gaul aka France. It means a point of no return which is exactly what ends up happening to Zhiqiong.

"The golden city... The black watchtower...! *cough* The heavenly envoys have left...!"

If you play the daily World Quests that happen after you wrap up Chasm Delvers it looks like Zhiqiong did actually discover something by going even deeper into the Chasm than we can currently go. What is the golden city? The black watchtower? We already do know that the heavenly envoys left. That's actually the story we read about in the tiara artifacts.

The fact that she was able to figure this out is very impressive. Based on how it's being portrayed I'd have to say she should earn a Hydro Vision. She doesn't quite have a goal. She's more interested in making a name for herself as adventurers should and that speaks to me more about how persistent she's being instead of her actually knowing what that claim to fame will be. It would be really cool if maybe in v2.7 we find her again and she does indeed have a Vision.

But on the other hand there was such a focus on how she's been struggling against those who have Visions so I don't know if getting her a Vision would cheapen that. I mean to be fair many of the other allogenes had no desire to get a Vision but because of what they did they earned one anyway. I'm just torn over whether it'd be better to play out Zhiqiong's story as someone who kept fighting for her place in the world without having a Vision to help her or that her struggles finally paid off and she'll get the tool she needs to keep pushing further.

What do you guys think? And have you gotten that far yet?
