Cyrene In-Depth Guide | Cyrene Builds, Teams, Eidolons, Kit Breakdown

From Star Rail In-Depth Guides

Hey welcome to my Cyrene guide, I go over quite a lot below and explain the effects of the buffs below the GIF.

Scroll further down for builds, eidolons and teams or use the Chapters by the side to navigate this guide.

Anyways,

Kit Breakdown

Cyrene's kit is mainly about her Ultimate, the effects she can provide to specifically only Chrysos Heirs and her Memosprite.

The rest of her kit can be summarised as :

  1. 20% DMG boost if Cyrene is on the field
  2. 20% Additional DMG Boost if Cyrene has at least 180 Speed
  3. Additional Speed over 180 is converted into 2% Ice RES PEN up to 60 extra Speed
  4. Skill gives 24% True DMG for 2 turns.
  5. Cyrene gains 24% HP and 50% CRIT RATE during her Ultimate.
  6. Cyrene requires 24 Stacks for her first use of her Ultimate, afterwards requiring only 12
  7. Stacks can only be gained once from an ally PER Cyrene turn, unless it's a Memosprite
  8. Cyrene gains additional stacks at the start of the battle depending on the number of Chrysos Heirs and or Remembrance units in the team
  9. Cyrene regenerates all ally Ultimates the FIRST time she uses her Ultimate
  10. After Cyrene's Ultimate, she can only use her Enhanced Basic Attack which does not regenerate Skill Points.
  11. Cyrene's Memosprite (Demiurge) shares same HP value as Cyrene herself and HP changes will be similarly reflected on the Memosprite but it cannot be targeted.

Weird mini interaction for the last point but Castorice's HP drain for the team counts the Memosprite for extra charges but healing does not as it cannot target it.

Now her first use of her Ultimate SUMMONS her Memosprite and the Memosprite can then buff 2 allies for the first Ult as she has 24 stacks.

The buff will be 40% DMG Boost for non Chrysos Heirs but for Chrysos Heirs they are unique

Ode to Ego

After Cyrene has gained "Recollection" from each different teammate (other than Demiurge), when Demiurge uses "Minuet of Blooms and Plumes," it additionally deals 1 instance of Ice DMG equal to 60% of Demiurge's Max HP to one random enemy. After Cyrene uses her Ultimate or when Demiurge is summoned, Demiurge immediately gains 1 "Story." When "Story" reaches 3 points, Demiurge consumes all "Story" points to immediately gain 1 extra turn and automatically use "Minuet of Blooms and Plumes."

Basically, for the first Ult you only require 2 buffs since it's Summon + Buff + Buff which gives 3 stacks.

However, afterwards you need to use Cyrene's ult 3 times to get this attack again.

The phrasing is slightly vague, basically every enemy takes 60% HP (Minuet of Blooms and Plumes) and then for every ally, including memosprites you get additional Bounces.

In a team with 4 Remembrance units, the rest of the team excluding Cyrene and Demiurge is 6, so against 1 enemy you get a total of 7 bounces or 7 * 60% HP.

Hence this is naturally stronger in full Remembrance teams.

Ode to Genesis

Effective for the entire battle. When used on Trailblazer (Remembrance), increases Trailblazer (Remembrance)'s ATK by a value equal to 16% of Demiurge's Max HP, and increases Trailblazer (Remembrance)'s CRIT Rate by a value equal to 72% of Demiurge's CRIT Rate. This effect also applies to Mem. After Trailblazer (Remembrance) uses Enhanced Basic ATK in this battle, Demiurge immediately gains 1 extra turn and automatically uses "Minuet of Blooms and Plumes." If the target was defeated before this ability is used, it will be used on newly appeared enemy targets instead.

Just like Cyrene's Ode to Ego, RMC's new Enhanced Basic can now trigger Demiurge's Memosprite Skill in addition to giving a huge DMG Boost to RMC.

Especially strong for extra damage if RMC is on the team.

Ode to Strife

One-time effect. When used on Mydei, removes all Crowd Control debuffs inflicted on him. And if Mydei is in the "Vendetta" state, he automatically uses 1 instance of "Godslayer Be God" without consuming Charge. Mydei's CRIT DMG increases by 200% during this attack. If the target gets defeated before the use, then it will target the newly arriving enemy targets instead. If Mydei is not in the "Vendetta" state, then advances Mydei's action by 100%.

One of the best unique buffs Cyrene can provide, Cyrene can IMMEDIATELY activate Mydei's Godslayer without any charge in addition to 200% CRIT DMG.

This allows for much greater control AND frequency of Mydei's Godslayer which was what was holding him back prior to Cyrene's release.

Ode to Worldbearing

Effective for the entire battle. After it is used on Phainon, Phainon gains 6 "Coreflames" as well as "Eternal Ignition" when Transforming. When Transforming, if "Coreflame" exceeds 12, for each point in excess, Khaslana's CRIT DMG increases by 12%, up to 72%. While "Eternal Ignition" persists, increases Khaslana's CRIT Rate by 16%. After the extra turns are depleted, the Transformation does not end, but refreshes all of Khaslana's extra turns and gains 4 point(s) of "Scourge." At the start of Khaslana's extra turns, Khaslana consumes an amount of HP equal to 15% of his current HP. After using an attack, deals 5 instances of Additional DMG, with each instance dealing Fire Additional DMG equal to 10% of Khaslana's ATK to one random enemy.

A lot of text but can be boiled down to:

  1. 16% CRIT RATE
  2. Usually 36% CDMG unless E6 Phainon
  3. Phainon's Ult will not run out after 8 turns
  4. Phainon deals 50% Additional Fire DMG
  5. Phainon loses 15% Current HP each action

Pretty understandable since this is an absolutely game breaking buff for Phainon. Being able to stay in his Ultimate is INCREDIBLY strong so losing some HP each turn to sort of balance it out is completely fine.

Do note that this changes Phainon's CRIT RATE requirements, now he requires 84% instead of 80% with Sunday.

Ode to Life and Death

Effective for the entire battle. When used on Castorice, "Newbud" can overflow up to 200%. When summoning Netherwing, consumes all overflowed "Newbud," increases the DMG multiplier of the DMG dealt by 0.24% for every 1% of overflow value consumed when the summoned Netherwing triggers the ability effect of its Talent, "Wings Sweep the Ruins." If there are 2 enemy target(s) on the field or fewer when summoned, the DMG multiplier additionally increases by 0.48% when summoning.

VERY strong buff for Castorice. A big part of the reason why Castorice was very hard for casual players (and honestly even for veteran players) to utilise properly is because Castorice's Ult is capped at 100% and any charge over 100% is a complete waste.

This allows for a more flexible playstyle on top of providing a bigger DMG Multiplier when there are only 1 or 2 enemies, helping to deal clean up annoying enemies like SAM or Flame Reaver.

As you can see the final bounce in this attack did 1.7million damage by itself.

Ode to Time

Effective for the entire battle. After it is used on Evernight, increases DMG dealt when Evey uses the Memosprite Skill "Dream, Dissolving, as Dew" by 18%. After Evernight uses a Skill/Ultimate, additionally gains 1 "Memoria" point(s). The CRIT DMG boost effect provided by the Skill is further increased by an amount equal to 12% of Evernight's CRIT DMG.

Slightly more damage for Evernight herself, but most importantly the CRIT DMG buff for Memosprites increases from 24% to 36%. This is absolutely massive in full Remembrance teams, that Evernight wants to be a part of and especially potent with Cyrene, providing a great DMG boost to Castorice, Cyrene, Hyacine and of course herself.

Ode to Sky

When Demiurge uses Memosprite Skill, causes Hyacine to gain 2 stacks of "Ode to Sky." When used on Hyacine, regenerates 24 Energy for Hyacine. When Hyacine has "Ode to Sky" and is providing healing, additionally increases the healing value for Little Ica's Memosprite Skill by an amount equal to 72% of the healing value this time. After Hyacine uses Skill/Ultimate, consumes 1 stack of "Ode to Sky."

In most teams with Hyacine, you will be prioritising Cyrene's buff on the other 2 allies first (Castorice, Evernight, RMC or Mydei) hence Hyacine has an effect even if she doesn't receive the buff directly.

This Ode to Sky buff doesn't actually increase the healing (which would have been very beneficial to Castorice) but rather just increases the value for Ica's Healing Recorded, this means no extra charges for Castorice, just a lot more damage for Ica as shown above.

And in a team with Castorice & Evernight who both have one time effects, Hyacine also regenerates 24 Energy when the buff is used directly on her, sort of allowing you to continue to make use of Cyrene's Buff after her first Ultimate.

Ode to Reason

One-time effect. When used on Anaxa, recovers 1 Skill Point(s) for allies and allows Anaxa to take action immediately. Increases the number of Skill DMG instances by 3 for 1 turn. The next time Anaxa uses his Basic ATK or Skill, he gains "True Knowledge": Increases the ATK of all Erudition Path characters by 60% and Skill DMG dealt by 40% until the start of Anaxa's next turn.

Kind of like Mydei, this allows Anaxa to instantly take a turn while gaining massive buffs and also increases his bounce from 5 to 8.

This is a disgustingly strong buff, allowing Anaxa to quickly dispatch of enemies especially when combined with Cerydra's Coup De Main, as it can also copy this 8 Bounce Skill, leading to 32 Bounces of Anaxa's Skill in addition to the ATK and DMG buffs.

This lets Anaxa almost delete one entire health bar from Hoolay dealing around 2.8million damage in a row.

Ode to Trickery

Effective for the entire battle. When used on Cipher, increases the DMG dealt by Cipher by 36%, and decreases the DEF of the "Patron" by 20% and the DEF of enemy targets other than "Patron" by 12%.

Unfortunately, probably the worst unique buff out of all of them, all Cipher gets is 36% DMG boost, which is usually negligible and extra DEF Reduction.

If this was faster Patron stacking, it would have been much more significant.

Ode to Romance

One-time effect. When used on Aglaea, causes Aglaea to gain "Romantic" and immediately stacks Garmentmaker's Memosprite Talent's SPD Boost effect to its max. After Aglaea or Garmentmaker uses an attack, consumes "Romantic" and regenerates 70 Energy. Increases DMG dealt by Aglaea and Garmentmaker by 72%, and ignores 36% of the target's DEF, lasting until Aglaea exits the "Supreme Stance" state.

Pretty decent buff for Aglaea, giving her 20% Energy and even stacking Garment Maker's SPD to max if it isn't already maximum.

This also gives 72% DMG and 36% DEF Reduction, both massive buffs as long as Aglaea is in the Supreme Stance state.

On paper, this should be very strong but when compared to buffs like Mydei's or Anaxa's that instantly allows them to use their strongest ability, it still slightly falls short.

This would have been MUCH stronger if instead of energy it gave an additional turn instantly.

Ode to Passage

Effective for the entire battle. When used on Tribbie, causes DMG dealt by Tribbie to ignore 12% of the enemy's DEF. When Tribbie launches Follow-up ATK and triggers the Additional DMG from Tribbie's Zone, it further deals 1 instance(s) of Additional DMG.

Just like Cipher, this buff for Tribbie doesn't really do a whole lot. If used in a team with Mydei (one time effect buffs), it's pretty much always better to use it on someone else.

Ode to Ocean

One-time effect. When used on Hysilens, Hysilens gains "Flowing Warmth." After Hysilens uses an attack, consumes "Flowing Warmth" and regenerates 60 Energy for this unit. In this battle, increases DMG dealt by Hysilens by 120%. After Hysilens uses Basic ATK/Skill to attack enemies, causes the DoT currently applied on the attacked enemy targets to immediately produce DMG equal to 60%/80% of the original DMG.

Actually one of the strongest unique buffs but unfortunately harder to make use of.

Hysilens can proc DoTs like Kafka herself and also gains a permanent 120% DMG Boost.

Free 60 energy each buff is also incredibly useful to spam Hysilens' Ultimate while recovering Skill Points.

Ode to Law

Effective for the entire battle. After using on Cerydra, increases the CRIT DMG of the character with "Military Merit" by 30%. After Coup de Main ends, Cerydra immediately gains 1 point(s) of Charge.

Straight to 1 charge instead of 0/6

Very simple and straightforward, but pretty strong. Allows for faster stacking of Cerydra's Coup de Main which is the major focus of her kit.

Ode to Earth

When Demiurge uses Memosprite Skill, grants "Ode to Earth" to Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, and the next 3 attack(s) of "Souldragon" deals Additional DMG of the "Bondmate's" Type, equal to 80% of the "Bondmate's" Shield Effect. When Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae holds "Ode to Earth," the "Bondmate" deals 24% more DMG. When used on Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, additionally advances Souldragon's action by 100%. The Souldragon's next action gains the enhance effects of Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae's Ultimate and the Shield Effect provided by Souldragon is 150% of its original Shield value. Does not consume the enhancement Charge of Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae's Ultimate.

Another wall of text, but basically:

24% DMG for Bondmate

Additional DMG from Souldragon BASED on the Shield Effect not ATK.

If used directly on DHPT, free Enhanced Souldragon attack that also provides 150% Shield value.

And that is pretty much her entire kit.

Should you pull Cyrene? / Kit Review

Cyrene does offer VERY strong unique buffs to Chrysos Heirs.

The problem that you may have already seen is that it takes Cyrene too long to get her Ultimate in non-Remembrance teams because Memosprites can stack Cyrene's Ultimate very quickly, and requiring 24 Stacks for the first Ultimate is also very costly.

As a guide creator, I am quite afraid that especially since Cyrene is so firmly tied to Chrysos Heirs and especially Remembrance teams, if they powercreep such teams Cyrene's value will plummet with them instantly. There is very little future value for such a kit and this may already be the peak of Cyrene's Strength.

Hence, I think Cyrene is only worth pulling for if you AT LEAST have a Remembrance team (Cast/Ever + Hyacine)

OR

you have multiple different Chrysos Heir units & teams.

Obviously if you're a giga whale then it doesn't matter.

Mydei is one of the exceptions, he can easily use Hyacine in his team so he can still benefit greatly from Cyrene alongside a Remembrance team.

But for Anaxa, Phainon, Aglaea and Hysilens, even though their buffs are EXTREMELY STRONG,

they still lose out on too much total damage in the long run when you also account for the start of the battle without Cyrene's Ultimate.

On average for these teams, it takes a full cycle or 150AV to get Cyrene's Ultimate, and this is only achievable with 3 turns in 150AV, so 200 Speed or Sprightly Vonwacq.

As you can see above, before Cyrene's Ultimate both Phainon and Anaxa's team does very little damage but after the Ultimate the damage shoots up drastically.

But when you average it out, the damage drops again as you need to account for that start of the battle where Cyrene doesn't do a whole lot.

This problem is however solved at E2, so I guess if you really like a particular non-remembrance Chrysos Heirs you can consider that but I would generally recommend not getting Cyrene entirely in such a case without a Remembrance team.

It does not help that her Enhanced Basic Attack post Ultimate cannot regenerate Skill Points.

This makes certain teams very awkward but for HP scaling teams like Castorice/Mydei/Evernight who do not consume Skill Points and can even regenerate extra, there is no problem there.

Obviously if you have neither Remembrance units or Chrysos Heirs, Cyrene is a very easy skip.

Light Cones

Despite her Signature's lower % here, it is still the best in slot, especially in longer fights.

Do note that Victory in a Blink and Memory's Curtain cannot activate the DMG Boost for Cyrene after her Ultimate as she can ONLY use her Enhanced Basic Attack, hence they will also get worse in the long run.

Hyacine's Signature Light Cone is ONLY viable in a team with Hyacine & Castorice. Hyacine would already have her own Signature, so this would be the second Hyacine Signature LC.

The performance is pretty similar but Cyrene also has buffs for other Chrysos Heirs.

I would only recommend a second Hyacine LC if all you are getting Cyrene for is for Castorice + Hyacine.

Even then, S1 is just more general and flexible, and you don't lose much damage and there is less risk, so I still recommend just grabbing her own Signature over a second Hyacine Cone.

Relics

Sets

It may look like a lot but I'll try and simplify it for you:

In Remembrance teams or teams with Hyacine (who can stack Cyrene's Ultimate very quickly)

Cyrene does not require 200 Speed before her Ultimate, nor does she need a start of battle action advance for 3 turns.

Hence, she can easily run World-Remaking Deliverer for more team damage and Amphoreus for the Speed and CRIT RATE Boost.

HOWEVER, in teams like Phainon / Aglaea / Anaxa / Hysilens, Cyrene needs 3 turns in the first cycle or 150AV.

This is done by either 2+2 Speed to give her 200 Speed

OR

Sprightly Vonwacq's Action Advance.

If you have Sprightly, you can also just run World-Remaking Deliverer you no longer need that 200 Speed.

Someone also mentioned with Tribbie S5 dance Cyrene only needs 184 Speed, this is true.

More accurately 184.1 minimum

In teams with a 2+2 Speed set-up, you can run Planars like Lushaka or Fleet for extra ATK% for your DPS units (Phainon, Aglaea, Anaxa, Hysilens & Kafka)

Stats

Stats are infinitely more straightforward, only a team with Castorice is where you would consider a HP Body or HP Orb.

I have a run here where Cyrene is using HP/SPD/HP/HP, in order to regenerate more charges for Castorice.

This especially matters in this stage because it's a Single Target stage and Castorice does more damage based on her overflowing Newbud when there are 1 or 2 enemies remaining.

Stat Goals

As shown in the above graphic, 180 Speed minimum and if possible 200 Speed in battle. (Post Amphoreus Speed boost or without)

Cyrene gains 50% CRIT RATE in her Ultimate, so the maximum you should get before the battle is also 50% CRIT RATE.

Eidolons

This E1 is actually very strong. Not ONLY because Demiurge's attack is much stronger but also because she gains 6 stacks of Recollection after each attack.

This leads to much faster stacking AFTER Cyrene's first Ultimate, and is incredibly strong for units like Hysilens, Mydei, Anaxa, Aglaea and Hyacine.

Unfortunately this is useless for Phainon as Phainon will be in his Ultimate Transformation.

Like I said this solves Cyrene's slow Ultimate stacking issue by giving you 12 stacks instantly at the start of the battle but also further increases the True DMG buff from 24% to a max of 48%.

This E2 is much much stronger in teams that were previously held back by her Ultimate (Phainon, Aglaea, Anaxa, Hysilens) but even in Remembrance teams still shows a decent DMG boost due to how much faster Cyrene can actually be useful.

This is a sub-dps esque Eidolon that only really shows its value in very long fights like Anomaly Arbitration or Pure Fiction. In my scenario it will not look to be as strong.

However, as Cyrene's (or Demiurge's) damage is very dependent on Remembrance allies, (Extra bounce and buffs from Evernight) outside of Remembrance teams, its value will not be as good.

Cyrene's first Ultimate now also has a 100% team Action Advance and for each Memosprite Skill afterwards,

reduces Enemies DEF by 20%, and from then on additionally advances allies' actions by 24%.

This functions similarly to Robin's Ultimate or S5 Dance and is a very powerful boost since it further speeds up Cyrene's team.

Investment Priority

I recommend E1 over S1 for Mydei, Anaxa, Hysilens, Aglaea & Castorice/Evernight/Hyacine

E1's value is much lower with Phainon hence S1 > E1 but is much better at E2.

Hence, if you can grab E2, I would go straight to E2 and use a different Light Cone.

E2 is especially strong for Phainon, Anaxa, Aglaea, Hysilens and even Mydei.

However even for Remembrance units as you can see above, is still a fairly huge DMG boost.

Teams

Phainon

Phainon's damage with Cyrene is slightly higher than before when using Dan Heng PT.

However, due to Phainon's infinite Ultimate with Cyrene, this will be the undisputed Best in Slot team for longer fights in Anomaly Arbitration or Pure Fiction.

Anaxa

Anaxa gets a small improvement with Cyrene on the team, increasing dramatically at E2 and so is not a major major priority in his teams but still great to have regardless.

Evernight

Evernight Hypercarry gets a massive buff replacing Tribbie with Cyrene, mostly because this is one of the few teams that can stack Cyrene's Ultimate very quickly.

Mydei

One of the biggest winners from Cyrene's release, Mydei's much more frequent use and better control of Godslayer significantly boosts his damage into the top tiers of the Star Rail meta.

Castorice

A Castorice & Evernight team was arguably one of the best teams in the game before Cyrene, but with Cyrene is the best team in the game period.

This team is however very expensive but incredibly strong, outperforming Tribbie's E1 even without her Signature Light Cone.

Aglaea

Aglaea receives a decent buff, but her unique buff like I said isn't as strong as Mydei's or Anaxa's, so she did not receive a drastic DMG increase but still big enough to be worth considering.

Hysilens

Hysilens is unfortunately completely tied to Kafka, and without a Memosprite like Aglaea, stacks Cyrene's Ultimate the slowest. Taking longer than even 150AV.

That's about it

That's all for my Cyrene guide, thanks for reading and happy pulling!
