So I think it's pretty safe to say by now that the ending of even the Archon Quest that we got has Inazuma splitting up into the Narukami and Watatsumi regions. And I did point out that eventually they'd want that region to reintegrate because otherwise it would leave Inazuma pretty much the weakest out of the Seven Nations once everybody's on the Human Age part of the story's development.
So having Kokomi make a diplomatic trip into Narukami to have informal discussions before any formal deliberation takes place in the public record makes sense. You want to make sure the public sees a healthy reunion of its broken pieces not some kind of recriminating shout fest between the two sides.
But it's that Yae is running this and she is also the one behind Ayato's Irodori Festival that's concerning. We know by now especially after Shenhe's quest that the game is moving all the regions into the Human Age. This is why Venti's never ruled Mondstadt and why Zhongli retired and tested Liyue with Osial. In Inazuma originally we were supposed to see the deposition of Ei leaving possibly Kujou Sara (I suppose now it's more like Ayato) and Kokomi in charge of the broken halves of the region until they could reunite one day. But what it looks like now is that not only is Ei still in charge but Yae the old Archon is playing a really direct role again. That's a regression not a progression for the region.
I suppose the story could change so that only Mondstadt and Liyue end up free of divine intervention and enter the Human Age while the other regions are held back until further notice. We'll see with Sumeru if that's going to be the case but that would also kinda mean by the endgame it'll just be the Mondstadt and Liyue characters that play any major role in the final conflict. So I hope that doesn't end up happening and all the regions will move into the Human Age. That'll just mean Inazuma'll be lagging behind playing catch up. Right now with Yae essentially back in power we're looking at Meiji Restoration period where the Tenno reclaimed his throne and ruled through the ministry.
