To you who have made it this far, can you believe it? We have finally reached the “end” of our journey.
And yet, this is actually the last time we will ever be able to celebrate like this together.
Yes, this is our final Character Channel Event. Once today comes to an end, our series of HoYoLAB Character Channel Events will become a part of history.
I chose to tell you this in the very last post, here at the end of this long story.
Throughout this journey… there have been so, so many things that I have carried in my heart… things that I could never quite put into words clearly enough.
So, in my own way, I tried to preserve these precious emotions and drifting memories, leaving as much of them as I could within every page of this Event.

A Canvas That Never Existed
Before this day finally arrived, what kind of feelings was I carrying as I prepared to host our final Event?

I had imagined so many things in my mind, from the very first countdown post of the Pre Launch, all the way to today, to this final chapter tonight:
What kind of footprint should I leave behind at the end of this Event?
If you happened to come across any of our Event posts or illustrations, or perhaps you were one of the behind the scenes contributors who took part in creating them, or one of the users who participated in the Event's gameplay, I think perhaps you have already formed your own unique experience of having been a part of this story, beginning from your own perspective.
And there is something I have always found rather special.
These scenes, these landscapes that once existed only within my mind... have finally reached your eyes just as I had imagined them.
That canvas which never would have existed, living only within imagination, rough sketches, and all those wild ideas...
Little by little, you finally came to see, the “full picture” of the story.

Without the support from HoYoLAB, and without the participation of all the contributors who helped bring this Event to life, I think it might have remained there forever, lingering within Minsan's world alone.
Including today's final KV:
I chose to bring ‘him’ into being on the very last day of our Event, and let him appear before your eyes, just as I had carefully laid out every previous Event post, every surprise, and every deliberate arrangement; every wholehearted effort, every decision, and every choice of what to keep and what to let go.

A Gift Called “The Future”
What kind of feeling was it that carried me this far, making me return to these stories again and again, so deeply invested, so determined to keep telling them?
With an entirely different perspective, and guided by a force I can hardly put into words, I opened the entrance to this long journey, and led you towards something you had never set foot upon before: “The Future.”
Rather than calling this an “Event,” I think there is a more precise word to describe this whole series of posts I have created throughout this period:
“An Experience.”

The Myriad Forms of a Story

From the Pre-Launch, Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3, to the Special, and finally, the Conclusion:
For a single Event, I divided this entire series into 6 different stages to present its overarching theme. Yet each stage carried something of its own that I wanted to express, while also portraying Phainon's changes and growth throughout the different stages of his journey.
This had already grown far beyond the scale a Character Channel Event was ever meant to have. At the same time, it became the most demanding Event I have ever hosted, consuming more of my time, energy, and effort than any of my previous ones.
For this, I made quite a few sacrifices.
And through some of those sacrifices, I was able to glimpse the endless possibilities within a story, and the hidden beauty lies within it.
During those nights spent planning drafts and thinking through design compositions; during the days of repeatedly confirming details with artists, coordinating and communicating with collaborators and with HoYoLAB, I asked myself countless times:

Was all of this worth it?
…Even if I could turn back time to May, when I was still struggling with whether I should host this Event once again,
I would still, without hesitation, make the same choice once more, and walk the same road again.
At the End of the Journey, Universes Connected

Actually, I once revealed something in one of my Event story reflections:
The pages of my Event stories always leave behind an “exit,” a passage leading towards the future.
The end of one story does not always have to signify its ending. Sometimes, it leaves behind a new opening, a beginning for the story that comes next.
For example, the main story of our HoYoLAB 2.0 Phainon Character Channel Event came to a halt at the end of the Flame-Chase, where they finally faced Irontomb in their final battle of life and death.

However, what came after that?
How did Phainon's story, that unprecedented Flame-chasing journey, truly come to an end?
...Haha.
With that in mind, I gave careful thought to every part contributed by each participating artist.

The True Ending of the Story?
Who says that the end of this chapter, the ending of Phase 3 of 2.0 Phainon Event, could not meet a full stop at the very end of the story, within the 3rd Anniversary Character Channel Finale: The Conclusion, inside the Astral Express?

There are still things I do not want to tell you all at once. You can take your time and, as the days pass, discover and understand the details I have carefully arranged throughout this journey.
None of it was simply coincidence.
If everything had merely been thrown together or arranged at random, I probably would not have ended up waking up one morning in the middle of this Event and vomiting three times in a row, haha. (XD)
To me, all of these are such unique memories, fragments worth cherishing.
They were never simply a beautiful illustration, a cute sticker, or a cool artwork, and nothing more.
The meaning these characters and these stories hold for me can no longer be explained in just a few words...
And so, throughout this final stretch of the journey, what I chose to leave behind was:
“Eternity.”

A Long Lasting Companionship

At the very end, I want to leave these words for Phainon.
Dear Lord Pie-non:
Before I knew it, today has truly become our last afterparty.
Throughout this series of surprises and arrangements, I hope you will like this final gift I have prepared for the last day.
Whenever I wrote these long reflections before, I would always find myself thinking:
“Ah, what kind of different story should I present next time? What should the next Event be about? What kind of theme should I explore, and what stories should I create?”
But this time, there will no longer be a “next time.”
Even though there is so much reluctance in my heart to let go, the weight of everything we have carried for more than a year rests upon me, warm and reassuring.
And suddenly, I realise that all of this is about to become a thing of the past, much like you, finally setting down the responsibility you have carried for so long, and stepping into a different chapter of your life, beginning a new one.
“Only by letting go, can we begin anew.”
This was a line I wrote in the Phainon Cafe Special of the Event’s Epilogue chapter, and it is also something I wanted to say to myself.
Although every Event will eventually reach its end, I think:
During all this time, I have already left behind, for you and for this space that I have cared for all this time...
The truest, and most unforgettable version of it in my heart.
