Elysian Realm Guide - Herrscher of Thunder

New Signets - Pardofelis, Kosma
New Signets - Griseo, Vill-V, Aponia

Welcome to my Herrscher of Thunder (HoT) Elysian Realm guide! This focuses on her Elysian Realm performance and so may not apply to other game modes. I'll give two different builds for her, one using her basic attacks and one with her Ult.
Gear:
Her signature weapon/PRI is good, but you can also use Mag-Storm/Mag-Typhoon or even Lightning Storm if you don't have them.
For stigmata, her signature set is Benares, which helps by giving boosts for Herrscher form. Other possible sets are Ishikawa Goemon, Darwin, or even Irene Adler.

Basic Summary
Herrscher of Thunder is a PSY-type, lightning damage dealer. She enters Herrscher mode during her combo attack, or during her Ultimate's burst mode. Her exclusive signets are split between basic attacks and the Ultimate, thus there are two main builds for her.
Normal Attack build
This build focuses on specifically the 5th seq of basic attacks to trigger Hazy Moon's buff for damage. It's the more recommended of the two builds.

Ultimate build
This build focuses on specifically the bombard attack during HoT's ultimate. Due to a glitch, this used to be overpowered, and the best way to beat the realm. Now, however, it's average at best, but can still get the job done.

Special Adjustments
Every character has certain special adjustments in Elysian Realm to make it both easier for newer players to use them and to allow them to fight solo in the realm.
HoT's Special Adjustments are:
- Valkyrie stats and skill level are adjusted to Lv. 80 equivalent
This is the same for all Elysian Realm valkyries, to put them on a level playing field.
- No death immunity in burst mode anymore
Similar to Herrscher of Reason, she is usually immune to death in burst mode, but not in the Elysian Realm. This matters less for HoT than HoR, because she'll be in the air most of the time, and will thus take less damage.

Exclusive Signets
HoT's exclusive signets are split between basic attack buffs and Ult buffs. Thus, I'll be showing two possible builds in this guide.
Blessing of Divine Penalty

Upgrade bonus: Costs 200% > 300% Herrscher charge; deals 400% > 800% more DMG
Blessing of Hazy Moon

Upgrade bonus: Each bolt deals 900% > 1200% DMG
Blessing of Mitama

Upgrade bonus: Basic ATK Seq 5 restores 100 > 300 Herrscher charge
Blessing of Tsukuyomi

Upgrade bonus: Basic ATK Seq 5 restores 10 SP
Blessing of Narukami

Upgrade bonus: Every 20 combo hits grant an additional bolt. 12 bolts max.

Recommended Signets
(These recommendations are just what I personally found fun, feel free to experiment and put your own recommendations in the comments below!)
~~~~~~~~ Normal attack build ~~~~~~~~
This build focuses mainly on basic attacks, specifically on seq 5, to both restore SP and cast Thundering Sanction for high damage.
- Exclusive Signets -
MOST important:
Blessing of Tsukuyomi AND Blessing of Hazy Moon
Both of these signets are very important to the build, so I would actually recommend restarting until you get an Elysia portal right at the start, just to guarantee both. Choosing one to take first, I would say [Tsukuyomi], just because it has more potential to work with other signets, specifically Eden's, restoring 10 SP each time. But really, both are equally important.
Others:
Blessing of Narukami > Blessing of Mitama > Blessing of Divine Penalty
Unlike the first two, these 3 signets are basically completely unnecessary, and you may as well skip any other Elysia portals. However, if you do have to take them, this is the order I personally recommend. In general, you don't want to use the Ult, since the damage from basic attacks is much higher. However, the Ult can still be useful for avoiding taking damage by flying up, even if there's no death immunity. Thus, these signets help with that.
[Narukami] boosts the finisher move, which reduces any DPS lost by using the ult. Especially since you probably want to end the ult as soon as possible, leading to the finisher being more helpful.
[Mitama] increases Herrscher charge, which, for normal attacks does nothing because the Thundering Sanction does more damage than the combo attack. However, in burst mode, it can give more DPS while waiting for the Ult to end, and bombarding enemies in the Ult prevents them from attacking.
[Divine Penalty] further increases Ult damage, but is put after [Mitama] because it means bombard attacks will be shorter, thus cancelling the other benefits of being in burst mode (avoiding damage by flying up).
To repeat, these three signets are really not worth taking for this build, but there is a story segment that requires taking Elysia signets (is that a spoiler? It's in chapter 1...)
- Flame Chaser Signets -
Eden
Because of [Tsukuyomi], which gives 10 SP for each seq 5, Eden's 1st core [Aria] is great. The core does a lot of damage, and the enhanced signets [Aria of Life] and [Aria of Dawn] help with more SP and more damage respectively. The first priorities early game are the ones that give buffs based on SP left, which is another reason to avoid using the Ult.
Su
HoT stacks combo hits reasonably fast, but will still need either of Su's bonus combo hit signets to make it work. Other good ones are Total DMG buffs, and also SP regen, to trigger Eden's core even more. The 2nd core, [Dictum], is better as it helps with combo hits even more. The enhanced signets are unnecessary.
Other
Basic attack focused valkyries actually don't have that many specific options, so instead there are general recommendations here. Any of these Flame-Chasers will work, it just depends on your preference.
Hua - 2nd core
Hua's signets give good buffs as long as you avoid getting hit. Since HoT's playstyle involves constant evasions, it works well with Hua.
Kalpas - 2nd core
Kalpas' signets also give good buffs, at the cost of HP. They can be taken together with Hua's, because you want to avoid getting hit for both of them.
Kevin - 2nd core
This set might need some more explanation. While you don't want to use the Ult much, HoT's Ult is a burst mode, and Kevin's second core gives permanent buffs once you reach the required number of hits. Thus, you can get permanent DMG/Breach/SP regen, just for using the ult once/twice at the start. This is very situational, and is likely only viable when Kevin's signets are getting a +2.
Aponia - maybe core?
If you don't want to/can't go for the core, look for [First], for basic attack damage, or [Third], for more SP regen. Getting the core allows you to get [You Shall Be Bound by Thy Body], which gives basic atk Breach in exchange for Ult damage.
Kosma - no core
The signets to look for are [Talons], where basic attacks stack rend, and [Breath], that gives SP for stacking rend. The main purpose of this is to get more SP for Eden's core.
- Playstyle -
Evade into 4th then 5th seq basic atk. Avoid using combo attacks or the Ult unless you have good reason.
If you have Benares M, remember to use weapon skills whenever they're ready.
- Support Valkyries -
VC for gather, AE for support
Can switch VC for Haxxor at the end.
- Remembrance Sigils -
Final Boss: Eden's [Dreamful Gold], another reason you want constant SP regen
~~~~~~~~ Ultimate build ~~~~~~~~
This build focuses mainly on the Ultimate, and spamming bombard (dragon breath). This build used to be the best, and one of the easiest ways to get max rewards, but now Basic attacks are better.
- Exclusive Signets -
MOST important:
Blessing of Divine Penalty AND Blessing of Mitama
Like the Basic attack build, you really need both of these signets for it to be good. [Divine Penalty] gives the damage while [Mitama] allows you to fuel it. For the one to take first, [Divine Penalty] is better because it gives damage, and is just a lot slower without [Mitama]. I recommend restarting if you don't get an Elysia portal before the first shop.
Others:
Blessing of Narukami = Blessing of Tsukuyomi > Blessing of Hazy Moon
Unlike the Basic attack build, these other signets are still viable, so you can take them if you get the chance. Only [Hazy Moon] doesn't do much for this build, the others are fine. Still, I would probably take other Flame-Chasers over some of these.
[Narukami] gives more damage to the finisher, which counts as Ult damage, so it can help trigger Kevin's core. It also gets buffed by the same things the Ult does, and is pretty good overall.
[Tsukuyomi] helps with SP regen in the downtime of the Ult, and depending on your current build, it can be as good or better than [Narukami]. If you already have good SP regen, you can skip it.
[Hazy Moon] is only good if you also have [Tsukuyomi], and basically helps with damage during the downtime of the Ult. Though, if you go for this then you might as well have just started with the basic attack build, so not really useful in the end.
- Flame Chaser Signets -
Kevin
As with all burst mode valkyries, Kevin's 2nd core [Shadow] is better, since it gives permanent buffs. The main targets are Total DMG/Elemental DMG/Elemental Breach, as well as SP regen. The enhanced signet [Dream of the Deliverer] (enhances buffs given by normal signets) is also nice to have. You can trigger it in about 1-2 Ults, faster if you have [Blessing of Narukami].
Eden
Since you'll actually be using SP in this build, you can take her 2nd core, [Echo]. However, her 1st core is also fine. Both the damage bonus and SP regen signets are good. Any of the enhanced signets are good (no matter which core), but not necessary.
Other
Hua - 2nd core / Kalpas - 2nd core
Similar to basic attack build, but slightly better because it's harder for enemies to hit you during burst mode.
Griseo - core
HoT can trigger all of Griseo's paints easily, and her buffs are quite good. Most recommended are [Red], [Yellow] and [Black], and maybe [White] if you need SP.
Sakura - 1st core
Using evasions during the Ult tri***** the skill, allowing Sakura's signets to be used.
- Playstyle -
Use the Ult as soon as possible (LE support helps) and use bombard until Herrscher charge is spent.
Attack for one cycle (until the dragon summons a tornado) then evade to trigger evasion
By then, Herrscher charge should be filled, so use bombard again
Repeat
- Support Valkyries -
VC for gather, LE for SP
Can switch to Haxxor and AE at the end.
- Remembrance Sigils -
Final Boss: Kevin's [It Will Be Written] or Eden's [Dreamful Gold]

Hey guess who didn't get into the beta again (mHY why ;-;) So anyways that means it'll be a while before I can finish any guides on the new characters :/
Back to the current guide, I haven't actually used HoT in ages (aside from story stuff). The last time was probably before they fixed the bombard spam "bug". Looking back at her and some of the other early Elysian Realm valkyries, they're very different, especially in terms of the "Special Adjustments" section. It feels very different using say, Felis in the realm compared to outside, but for HoT it's the same as always. Any thoughts about that? I personally prefer the newer ones, it gives a new experience compared to other game modes.
Feel free to share your own experiences and recommendations in the comments below, and check out my other guides!
