Inventory full? It's time to declutter. Here are a few tips to save up some space.
# A few basic rules.
Typically, you want to keep these substats:
☑ crit rate, crit dmg (for DPS / sub DPS)
☑ energy%, elemental mastery (for support)
Hat mainstat: crit rate / crit dmg
Timepiece:
☑ ATK% (for DPS / sub DPS)
☑ energy% (for support)
Notes
There are also special instances when you can keep def%/hp%/atk% maintstats, especially if they have OP substats.
For example, for characters that scales off on def (Albedo, C6 Noelle), scales off on hp (Zhongli, Barbara, Diona), EM (for Sucrose, Venti), or ATK circlet (for Jean, Qiqi).
Now on to live examples:
□ When to Trash 🗑

↳ too much flat substats, unlikely to benefit

↳ would be great if can roll to energy recharge or crit rate within lv. 12 → if all goes to flat, it's not worth it to invest further (at this point you'll only have 2 more chances to roll, with twice/thrice the cost).

↳ while the stats are all nice, it is unfortunately the wrong piece 😔almost not worth it to sacrifice having crit dmg% mainstat

↳ ideally lv.4 rolls on crit rate → if keep getting flat atk until lv.12, trash → if def%, can go to Xinyan.

↳ in endgame, you'll get plenty enough artifacts that you won't miss out trashing this

@ ~ @ a bit risky, but can still try your luck. ideally rolls to energy recharge or crit rate within lv. 12 → if not, trash.

↳ a nice alternative for shielder/healer Noelle. Only keep if all mostly rolls on energy or crit rate tho.

↳ if all lands on HP%, can be for temporary use until you find something better (with energy% and crits%)

↳ if lands on crit dmg and hp%, then it's a keeper!

↳ if lv.4 lands on energy%, a keeper. otherwise, rather risky
Afterthought
*If you do not have any better artifact at the moment, you can keep using any available temporary artifact until you have something better. Farming can typically take up to 1 month when really unlucky (all resin go to 1 domain only).
