Elysian Realm Guide - Helical Contraption

New Core Signets - Pardofelis, Kosma, Vill-V

This guide will look at Helical Contraption (aka Vill-V) and how she plays in the Elysian Realm. I'll recommend some signets that work with her, playstyle, sigils and support valkyries. This guide focuses on the Elysian Realm, and so may not apply to other game modes.
Gear:
Her signature gear is Tower of the Past and Carlo Collodi, but you can substitute other fire stigmata like Thales or Leeuwenhoek.
For the weapon, you should try to at least have a decent offensive weapon active. The CD doesn't matter as one of the Elysia signets will help to reset the CD. Some suggestions are Key of Reason or Falcon Flare if you don't have Tower of the Past. Luckily, the weapon skill is not needed to trigger any signets and is just there for added damage.

Basic Summary
Vill-V is a QUA-type ranged fire damage dealer whose main form of attacks are charged attacks from stationary turrets. In the Elysian Realm, these count as weapon actives. Her ult is a burst mode, which summons Special Weapon No 9, dealing large amounts of damage and exploding for even more damage at the end.
Moves:
Weapon Mode -- Vill-V is in weapon mode when she is sitting on top of one of her weapons.
Interlude Salute -- When Chariot Heat Value is full during the Ult, Interlude Salute is cast with the ATK button. Also tri***** the Ultimate Evasion skill
Weapon/Chariot Heat Value -- The bar at the bottom of the screen, above HP. Weapon Heat is outside of Burst mode while Chariot is during Burst mode.
Special Weapon No 9 -- Another name for Ult/Burst mode
Loud Armaments -- The weapon turrets Vill-V has (gatling and cannon)

Special Adjustments
Every character has certain special adjustments in Elysian Realm to make it both easier for newer players to use them and to allow them to fight solo in the realm.
Vill-V's Special Adjustments are:
- Valkyrie stats and skill level are adjusted to Lv. 80 equivalent
This is the same for all Elysian Realm valkyries, to put them on a level playing field.
- Reduces Ultimate CD by 35%. While the combat vehicle Special Weapon: No. 9 is in weapon mode, Total DMG Reduction increases by 30%
The main bonus here is the Ult CD reduction, it's usually 12s, which means that in the realm it's slightly under 8s, which is very fast. The DMG Reduction is a nice bonus, and in practice is quite needed against Hephaestus.
- A hit inflicts Target Lock once, dealing 100% ATK of Fire DMG and restoring 1 SP and 15 Weapon Heat value or Chariot Heat value
Some SP regen and DMG boosting, this can be upgraded to an AoE with one of Elysia's signets
- Weapon Mode attacks and Interlude Salute count as weapon actives. Casting Ultimate refreshes weapon active CD.
This is very important and makes Vill-V's signets even better to use. Not only will her attacks all trigger the signet effects, they will also all be buffed by them, with [Act 1] being basically a free 60% Total DMG boost at base.
This also means that you don't need a specific weapon to use Vill-V well, since her attacks are weapon actives themselves.
The only issue with this appears to be that Interlude Salute puts the weapon skill in CD. I don't know if this is intentional or not.
- Recover another 6 SP per second in weapon mode.
Since Vill-V is basically always in weapon mode, you'll always have plenty of SP. Combined with the Target Lock SP regen, you'll be free to spam the Ult as much as you want. However, you'll still want SP signets to lengthen burst mode.
- Can choose 2 Elysia signets at the start of the run
Same as all the other Flame-Chasers, very helpful.

Exclusive Signets
Vill-V's exclusive signets are focused towards weapon skills, the Ult, and Target Lock.
Blessing of Assemblage

Blessing of Facade

Blessing of Reversal

Blessing of Sleight

Blessing of Transmission

Recommended Signets
(These recommendations are just what I personally found fun, feel free to experiment and put your own recommendations in the comments below!)
- Exclusive Signets -
Most important:
Blessing of Reversal and Blessing of Transmission
[Blessing of Reversal] helps both in and out of burst mode by increasing weapon skill damage. In burst mode, it helps by increasing Chariot Heat value, which then helps cast Interlude Salute more often, which contributes a lot of damage.
This then works well with [Blessing of Transmission], which buffs Interlude Salute. On top of that, it gives some SP regen, which lengthens burst duration, and resets the weapon skill CD, which is why it's recommended to have a good offensive weapon skill. Even if you don't, the buff to Interlude Salute is worth it.
Second choice:
Blessing of Assemblage
[Blessing of Assemblage] helps add a large amount of damage when entering burst mode (which destroys Loud Armaments), as well as gather and making enemies take more damage.
Last choice:
Blessing of Facade or Blessing of Sleight
If you can do floor 7 fast enough, you can choose one of these signets, they're on the same level as each other as I feel it's personal preference which to choose.
[Blessing of Facade] helps by providing slightly more SP, as well as making enemies take more fire damage. The buff will basically always be active.
[Blessing of Sleight] turns Target Lock into an AoE attack, and increases its DMG.
I prefer [Facade] as Target Lock already hits all enemies every 5s in burst mode from [Transmission], and the damage buff from Facade looks better.
- Flame Chaser Signets -
Vill-V (2nd Core)
Since all her attacks count as weapon actives, Vill-V's signets are an obvious choice. The signet giving weapon skill damage is priority as it has the highest buffs. Any of the normal signets work to buff Vill-V, even the SP signet can help to extend burst mode. Once you get the core, move on to take Kevin's core, then come back for at least the Breach enhanced signet, but the one that extends time fracture is also good.
Kevin (2nd Core)
Priority here is SP > Elemental Breach > Total DMG > Elemental DMG. The SP core will help get the longest burst moode, which is important for getting at least 3 Interlude Salutes in. If you can, get the enhanced signet that buffs the normal signets, but it's less important than Vill-V's enhanced signets.
Others
Eden (2nd Core)
Out of the "other" signets, I recommend Eden's the most. Vill-V's burst constantly drains SP, making her a good fit for Eden's 2nd core, and she can regen SP very fast, making normal signets worthwhile.
Griseo (1st or 2nd - Depends)
Griseo's 2nd core is actually the best one to take, but since I don't think it's possible to get all of her enhanced signets while still getting Vill-V's and Kevin's (unless you're really lucky?), I would recommend either the 1st core or Eden over this. If you think you can manage to get all the paint colours, then take the 2nd core. Otherwise, the 1st is better.
Sakura (1st Core)
Vill-V tri***** the evasion skill when switching between weapons, or when casting Interlude Salute, and so can make use of Sakura's buffs. The effects from the core aren't super helpful to her though, so it would mostly be for damage buffs.
Mobius (2nd Core > 1st Core)
This is the least recommended one, but if you're looking to experiment, it would technically work. Vill-V's turrets count as summons and thus contribute to Mobius' "For every summoned entity" signets. HOWEVER their attacks do not count as summon damage, which is why this isn't very recommended. The only one that does count as summon damage is the cannon summoned by Vill-V's evasion. If you actually manage to make this work, I would be very interested in hearing about it.
- Playstyle -
(This is assuming you have Tower of the Past to trigger the weapon skill - if you don't, you can save a few weapon switches)
Start by entering weapon mode to trigger Tower of the Past, then use the Ult
Use the weapon skill before attacking or it will enter CD (if you forget it's fine though)
Hold down the attack button and use the weapon active again after the 3rd Interlude Salute
Once burst mode ends, enter weapon mode again and attack until the Ult is ready again
Before using the Ult, switch weapons to trigger Tower of the Past, then use the Ult
Repeat
- Support Valkyries -
Azure Empyrea for gather + Breach, and Haxxor Bunny for DMG + buffs
Vermilion Knight, Raven or Blood Rose may also be options
- Remembrance Sigils -
General: Start with Vill-V's [Pseudo Miracle], end with [Tin Flask]/[MOTH Insignia]
Support: Elysia's [Because of You], then Vill-V's [Falling in Past Light]

And so the curtain closes on another guide~
I really like Vill-V, she's so eccentric and I feel like this really out there playstyle fits her. I also really like the detail of the different personalities having different Ult animations and stage ending animations.
Goushinnso Memento guide coming soon, maybe in 2 days because I have some work to do tomorrow. I have a good idea of it, I just need to type it out, she's really fun. After that, the only playable Flame-Chaser not in the realm is Fu Hua. Shadow Knight when?
