Well I mean it changes one thing.
So if you guys have been keeping up with the stuff I talk about here you might remember this one:
Observation on Archons and Visions
In that topic I talk about what I thought was the system for how Visions are bestowed to humans. There was a small issue I ran into because characters like Xiao and Ganyu are adepti who don't actually use Visions and have elemental powers based on their adepti blood. So they shouldn't really line up with my theory in the topic but they actually did.
Also I analyzed the Dendro Archon based on enemies in game and what little we knew about a single Dendro character. This would have been pretty flawed but as we learn more about Sumeru I'm starting to feel like it also falls in line with my prediction.
So why is that?
Because it isn't the Archons. If what Ei says in this voiceline is 100% accurate (I have theories why she might not know what she's talking about) then this means the Archons don't have anything to do with the Visions. Instead it's humans themselves.
Let's ignore the part about "there's another side to it too" and just think about how she says it falls on the people's desires. If that's the case then it isn't even about just the Archon's personalities. It's that each element resonates with a certain kind of personality so if anybody ends up wielding lets say Anemo they have the qualities of Anemo, Barbatos included. This is why adepti who weren't given a Vision by any Archon still use that element and for some reason fit the mold.
And that's why it actually ends up making sense why using the attack style of Dendro enemies could predict the personality of the Dendro Archon and fits well with Baizhu. The fact that they are all Dendro links them to the same base behaviors. Dendro enemies are sneaky. They create traps. Dendro Archon represents wisdom and for some reason "wisdom is the enemy of the God of Wisdom" which seems to point to the Archon's deception.
==============
So what about that last part? Well some theories have stated that Visions are evil and that humanity is being controlled by Celestia. I think most of us believe Celestia is bad right? So it would be so easy if that's what Ei meant. But I think there's more and it comes down to what the Archons know about Khaenri'ah and why they destroyed it. But I kinda plan on making theory videos on this stuff so you'll just have to wait for that. Haha jebaited! [emoji]
Suffice it to say I don't think anybody has made a video or talked about it so far so it could be interesting. But to understand why I'd think that I need to explain a bunch of other things or else it'll just sound like a random thought I threw out there.
Anyway this new information really helps explain some of the lore we already knew about Visions. For example Lisa going "hmmmm I'll need a Vision to continue researching" and then poof she's got one. I would feel weird that Ei was just watching her from afar and then went "sure here have a Vision!" She's naive and girly but not that naive and girly.
Ok I think that's long enough. This new information could even help confirm other theories but I'll leave that for next time.
