When I got to this area during Act I of the Archon I fell in love. From the moment you step inside the cave, the music immediately builds an atmosphere of comfort and coziness. But also a sense of longing and loneliness. The further in you walk, the clearer the music becomes. you can better hear the harp and eventually the celesta which shimmer under the soloist and the pizzicato in octaves in the cellos and basses, gently moving the peace forward with the harp. During the bridge, before the request of the verse (A' section) we. get a huge swell of the strings before a sudden and drastic drop in dynamics to accent the soloist on her return. Finally, the nyckelharpa floating just between the accompaniment and solo in countermelody is such a nice touch.

After working for so long on it, I’m super excited to share it with you guys today! It’s one of my biggest and most complex projects, with a full orchestra and self-written Latin lyrics, hope you will like it 🙂

This region's OST is in my opinion one of the best they've done so far. So many good tracks to listen to. Hoyo isn't beating the music company allegations any time soon. Before the region released, since it's based on Eastern Europe and Scandanvia, people were thinking the music was going to be similiar to Frieren's music. I hoped this wouldn't happen (it didn't) as although they're inspired from the same region, their genres are totally different. You would grow tired of hearing "Frieren the Slayer" every time you were in battle because it's just too grandiose (which was why the anime saved it for the big moments in the series). Because of that, I'm very happy that we got the music we have right now. It's very "Genshin" tbf, while also being ambitious in its compositions. I would like them to have voices be the subject of their pieces, since that's what Frieren does very well, and because of Genshin's history of making their voices support the main melody instead of being the melody. Their ambient OSTs are amazing though. Hot take: I think Fontaine, Sumeru and Natlan's main themes are still better than Nod Krai's. Please don't attack me. Another thing they did well: integrating main themes and melodies into different pieces. There's a melody that's present in a combat OST and an ambient OST which is amazing. This was my first time ever doing an arrangement (plus transposing!) for anything. I had really loved the French Horn melody in this piece, and I had looked FOREVER for an arrangement, but alas- I just did it myself. It was pretty fun, but don't expect more of this because my brain cells are absolutely fried. Was the $19 I paid to get the Google docs add on to do this worth it? Maybe not for me, but music snippet is pretty easy to use, and pretty cheap for a year of the full thing 🤷
