Hello there. A brief introduction about me is uh, I'm level 87 currently, playing for 2.5 years, and I was never a competitive player until I broke the ceiling (level 81), with no consciousness, about a year ago.

Reaching end-game for me felt like a nightmare without any preparations and prior knowledge, heck I didn't even know what "META" was until then. I'm trying to prove that I've played the game for 1.5 years at my own pace, and it took me that long to reach level 80. So trust me, I have 0 knowledge/wisdom on lineup builds and who or what to invest in. There are plenty of guides and creators out there who can teach you so.
So instead what I'm about to tell you today, is rather some technical side of Honkai Impact, such as player settings, small details and such, that you might've missed as a beginner or could improve your gameplay as a whole. They're quite minor but I, personally, have found them quite useful in small aspects of my gaming.
Let's get right into it.

This post is quite long, so here's a small content page of what is included in this post.

SETTINGS
1. Battery Saver mode.
Turn that thing on. Please for the love of god if you're on mobile turn that thing on. It makes your graphics look scruffy, I know, but it's better than burning your hands and having it unbearable to hold for a long period of time.
If I play APHO without Battery Saver mode, my phone will commit not alive in 3 minutes. This is simple. But for those who didn't know, please turn this on.

2. Turn off the Teammates settings.
You can customize your DMG number settings as you please. For me, I turn off DMG numbers and VFX from teammates. Two reasons.

i) If you don't turn off DMG numbers, you’re going get a heck ton of numbers splashed across your screen without knowing what’s going on. You have no idea where the enemy is, where the attack indicator is, heck you can’t even see what you’re doing, much less your teammates. Honkai enemies rely on Sound and Visual indicators to trigger Evasion properly, and if you're drowned in every sfx/vfx/numbers, well good luck relying on your 6th sense.
ii) You don’t need to know what your teammates are doing, how well they are doing or what numbers they’re doing. You’re probably never going to see them again after one co-op session.
All that matters is you. If you know what numbers your Valkyrie is doing against the enemy, that’s enough to show you what kind of level you’re at.
Also, it's just easier on the eyes. Sometimes HoT looks like she's just floating in the air without her dragon VFX but that's alright.
NEW! 2.5. You can turn on left joystick for bows.
If you're here from Genshin, you'll see in default settings there isn't a joystick to control Aim-mode, you're having to hold onto the Skill button to do so. But! I just found in the settings that you can have left-hand joystick if you wish. Maybe that'll be easier for Genshin players! Not for me so I think I'll skip that.

TRIAL/TUTORIAL STAGES
3. Most outfits have a Trial stage of their own.
Not all, but if you have the time to click on each outfit for each battlesuit, you may find Trial stages! This gives you a chance to see how beautiful and intricate the designers of Mihoyo put effort into making these for the game, and it also shows why my wallet has a hole in it.

(even if you don't own the Outfit, you can clear the Trial stage.)
Uhm, and I think it might give you first clear rewards? I'm not sure since I've done all of them but it can give you Time Capsule coins? I think?
(What are Time Capsule coins? They are certain currencies that you can buy when a Time Capsule event happens. A Time Capsule event is a shop where all the past limited event items reappear, if you failed to buy them when the event was live.)
And point to remember, some outfits are not visible in the Outfits option in the Valkyrie interface. For example, this Memento outfit is available in the Shop with her trial stage, but you will not see it in the normal Outfit options.

4. Likewise, if you have locked Valkyries, you can still play their Tutorial stage.
Most of the time when Valkyries are first introduced, they all come with their Tutorial stage, and after you get the battlesuit, you can move onto the Stress Test.

And again, not every Valkyire have a Tutorial stage, but most, if not all of the newer Valkyires do have a Tutorial stage of their own. So if you want to see what the move set of a certain Valkyrie is, you can always check it out beforehand!

(even if you own the Valkyrie, some of them still have their own Trial/Tutorial stages)
extra. Stress Test are extra steps from Tutorial stages that the game gives you when you unlock the Valkyrie itself. Likewise, you can't play the Stress Test stage if you don't have the Valkyire, but it's a stage to kinda train you to use the Valkyire to their max potential. I call them Stress Test but they're under the Character Trials category, you can always check it out to give you extra rewards (emblems, supply cards, etc.).

DORMS
5. Valkyrie Hearts matter.
So Dorms are one way to get extra buffs to your games, such as DMG buff or more Coin Production and Stamina collection. And you can level up your Dorm by two ways, which is to complete Valkyrie missions (get them to SS or SSS) and increase their Heart meter. The same applies to Stigmatas as well.

The easiest way to level up their Hearts is by having them on the Bridge. You don't even have to interact with them, after a certain period of time, they'll be up to 4 hearts in a jiffy. Also, their interaction voice line changes with every Heart.

6. How to level up your dorm: Not enough Comfort Level.
If you're ever faced with "Not Enough Comfort Level" when you're trying to level up your Dorms, just know you can simply Research Blueprints to increase it. You don't get much from crafting the same furniture over and over, what you can do is go to other Sets available, and research what you can. You don't even have to PLACE it inside your dorm. Just having it is enough to raise Comfort Level.

(Researching a furniture automatically crafts one of them for you!)

MISCELLANEOUS
7. Use your co-op talent points.

Some veteran players I know, do not even know of this?
So if you click onto Team List, click on My Teams, above you'll see two options Co-op Talents and Co-op Shop.
If you play co-op for quite some time, you'll see that you'll increase your Co-op level. That is different and is separate from your Captain level. With every Likes and EXP you get from playing co-op, you get Friendship points and Co-op Talents. You can use your friendship points to buy some basic stuff, but with your Co-op Talent points, you can upgrade stuff that'll make your co-op life easier. If you think you've invested wrongly, you can always pay 20 crystals to reset your co-op points.
8. Camera angles.
The thing with Mihoyo games is you can try toggle the camera settings all you want but it will always remain quite sh*t, and one reason is because of the Auto-lock your characters have that will latch onto the enemy. You can turn it off, but I find that if you have it Auto-lock on, QTEs are much much easier that way.
But in terms of handling camera angles, always make sure that your Valkyries' back, is always facing you. That way, the Valkyrie will walk in the direction that you want. You get what I mean? This could be quite general that many people may already unconsciously do, but still, having them face in the direction that you're trying to go is easier.
Because of the camera changes, when your Valkyrie is locked onto an enemy, but your joystick will move them accordingly to your POV, it might cause confusion especially when Honkai is quite fast-paced. When you want to evade and such, you could be blocked because your line of sight and the Valkyrie is not the same.

And that is it from me! I hope my post helped you in some way or form, that could help you enjoy all the little things that the game have provided for you to enjoy your time to the max. Captain logging off Bridge for today.
