Elysian Realm Guide - Starchasm Nyx

Other Guides

Hello! Welcome to my guide on one of the Elysian Realm's newest additions, Starchasm Nyx, who I'll be referring to as Nyx. I'll only be looking at Elysian Realm and related features in this guide, so this won't apply to other game systems.

Basic Summary

Starchasm Nyx is an ice type damage dealer, with signets focusing on her Ult and combo attacks.

Special Adjustments

Every character has certain special adjustments in Elysian Realm to make it both easier for newer players to use them and to allow them to fight solo in the realm.

Starchasm Nyx's Special Adjustments are:

- Valkyrie stats and skill level are adjusted to Lv. 80 equivalent

This is the same for all Elysian Realm valkyries, to put them on a level playing field.

- Sequence 4 of Basic ATK restores 2 Carmine Gashes

This allows you to get the full 6 Gashes to use the combo ATK more easily, especially if you have Sanguine Gaze, that lets you connect the weapon skill to Seq 4.

- In Burst mode, valkyrie restores 1 Carmine Gash per 1.6s and 3% HP per second

This lets you use combo ATKs much more frequently in burst mode, and provides good healing to keep you alive.

- In Burst mode, Charged ATKs inflict Nightmare Thorns on up to 5 enemies.

This effectively increases the AoE of attacks during burst mode, since more enemies are linked. This adjustment, together with the previous one, makes it clear that you want to use your Ult as much as possible.

Exclusive Signets

Nyx's exclusive signets are very burst mode focused, with some increasing damage and others increasing SP regen to let you use it more frequently.

Blessing of Toxic Bath

Upgrade bonus: Enemies hit by chain claws take 45% bonus DMG instead of 36%

Blessing of Cocoon Break

Upgrade bonus: Bonus SP increased to 40 SP instead of 35 SP

Blessing of Abyssal Gaze

Upgrade bonus: Ult has 60% reduced CD instead of 35%; Nightmare Thorns increased by 24% instead of 18%

Blessing of Frigidity

Upgrade bonus: Frost explosion deals 1300% DMG instead of 1000%

Blessing of Nightmare

Upgrade bonus: Each Carmine Gash consumed boosts Ult Seq 2 by 35% instead of 25%

Recommended Signets

(These recommendations are just what I personally found fun, feel free to experiment and put your own recommendations in the comments below!)

- Exclusive Signets -

Most important:

Blessing of Frigidity > Blessing of Cocoon Break

These two signets will basically carry you through the run. Even Frigidity alone will do in lower difficulties, or if you have enough SP regen from other sources. Frigidity essentially gives you an AoE nuke during burst mode, taking care of most enemies, especially if you have VC support to gather them.

Cocoon Break allows you to sustain constant Ult use, as well as providing SP to charge Eden's signets. It also provides some good DPS in the downtime between burst modes.

Second choice:

Blessing of Abyssal Gaze

This signet decreases Ult CD, thus decreasing downtime between bursts. It's best when you have enough SP to sustain constant Ult spams, so it's recommended after you get Cocoon Break.

Last choice:

Blessing of Nightmare or Blessing of Toxic Bath

Nightmare provides a damage boost to the Ult finisher, which is good, but I often forget to use the finisher. Even when using the finisher consistently, I feel that it doesn't have as much potential as the other signets.

Toxic Bath boosts damage against enemies that have been hit by chain claws, which is once again good, but the main part of the signet (I feel) is the weapon active CD reduction. This is best with Sanguine Gaze: Union, as it allows the weapon skill to be used during burst. No other scythe allows this, so if you don't have the PRI, I feel other signets are more worth it.

- Flame Chaser Signets -

Nyx is very ult focused, and so best works with Eden. Other Flame-Chasers are nearly negligible, with the exception of Kevin if you can extend the time his signets are active for. Hua is also good with the Resolve sigil against Nihilus.

Eden

Eden's signets are very good in two ways.

The first is before you get Cocoon Break, her signets that improve SP regen allow you to easily spam your Ult.

After you get Cocoon Break, you will have very high SP regen and a lot of leftover SP, which is where Eden's other signets are best. These include both the core signet, due to your high SP regen, and the signets that give buffs based on remaining SP, due to the leftover SP.

Kevin

Kevin's signets are good as their timer is almost as long as the second Frigidity buff. Your priority should be to get the enhanced signet than extends the timer, so that the bulk of your damage is buffed by the signets. Another good one is +20% in burst mode, for extra damage during the Ult.

Hua

Most other signets aren't amazing for Nyx, so the next recommendation is Hua. Any 3 will do, so that you can get the core signet, but obviously prioritize those that help with your DPS. The intermittent invincibility is even better on Nyx than other Valkyries, as she can heal during her burst in case you do take damage.

- Playstyle -

If you have Sanguine Gaze, start with the weapon skill to connect to seq 4. If not, just get 6 Carmine Gashes to use the combo ATK.

Use the Ult as soon as you can, and summon Valkyrie Chariot support so you can hit as many enemies as possible. If you need it, use LE support for more SP and repeat.

- Support Valkyries -

Early Game: LE for SP, VC for gather

Late Game: VC for gather, BKE for DPS

Final Boss: BKE for DPS, AE for support/weak gather or VC for strong gather

- Remembrance Sigils -

Early Game: [Gold Goblet] or [Good Old Days] for more/higher level Eden signets

Late Game: Switch to [Abandoned]/[Burden] or [Memory] for Kevin/Hua signets as is needed

Final Boss: [Resolve] if you have Hua's core, if not, [Good Old Days] for even more SP regen

Nyx feels very strong, and I can't tell whether it's because she's fully geared, something special about beta, or both. In any case, like all Elysian Realm characters, she's very fun to play and I look forward to the update!
