I got in a little late when I started Genshintubing and so the limited events took priority on my channel. Because that happened I decided to use the Archon Quest videos I hadn't had a chance to work on as a look back type of series.
It might sound silly to still be releasing stuff from Liyue over a year after it ended but I noticed a benefit of doing so. Back when I was still on the last few Mondstadt videos the game had already gotten into Inazuma. As a result my series ended up being a fun refresher on how the story went all the way back then. (also to show how horribly bad at the game I was back then)
So that helped with seeing trends like getting hints on the next 2 regions in the game's progression. When we started in Mondstadt we were told about Liyue and Inazuma with more information on Liyue since it would be our next stop. The same thing happened in these next two regions. We got a little more information in Liyue on Sumeru and more details into Inazuma and now we've got a few Fontaine NPCs in Inazuma.
Recently as I'm getting into Act 2 of Liyue in my videos I noticed a few other things. I think that Childe could have actually convinced us of his good will if we met him first. Since the Fatui were outted in Mondstadt so early into the game and then we had the Signora cutscene with Venti I think that ruined any chance of Childe convincing us of good Fatui in the organization. But if we started with Liyue I think it could have blindsided us. He's shown us that he's probably the only decent Fatui we'll meet.
That portrayal of his also builds on my existing belief that Signora can't be the Crimson Witch of Flames. In the Quest he shows a clear distaste for her specifically because she's callous and uncaring. He adds to that in his own Character Quest.
There's a specific detail about the Crimson Witch I think too many people overlook. In the lore for the feather it states that her fire burned forever and people cowered in fear. BUT "her fires only touched monsters and demons." Signora used her powers against new Fatui recruits, innocent civilians, our own MC and her involvement in Inazuma included the knowledge that they were giving Delusions to Watatsumi Resistance Fighters leading many of them to their deaths. Stark contrast. If anything the Crimson Witch would be her enemy too. She'd want to burn away that monster.
