[Conversing Resources] ⛔️Why you Shouldn’t Rush 4☆ Constellations
After witnessing my brother got C25 Ningguang this patch, this got me thinking.
Assuming you are playing for the long term, it is important to pace yourself.
✓ Paimon Shop
Except for Standard-exclusives (kaeya-lisa-amber), it might be important to not rush C6-ing these characters (except perhaps Fischl who has not been featured for 1 year). As from what can be observed so far, these old original characters will still get continuously to be featured even in future new nations.
Imagine making it all the way to Sneznaya.
Per year there is 8 patch.
Per patch has 2x banners,
16 x 5 years = 80 banners to Sneznaya.
If, let's say, you pull 10 times per banner at minimum = that is already 800 pulls, or 80x 4☆ at the very least.
If you pull 50 times per patch = that's 4,000 pulls.
How many of that has the chance that you get old characters’ duplicates? So far, there's at least 2 old characters in a banner.

I would say just try to wait it out until next nations arrive, where the pool to getting old characters might be significantly lower (current new characters get featured more often).
Example: Future banners can have 4☆:
- 1x Mondstadt, 1x Liyue, 1x Inazuma, or
- 1x Liyue, 1x Inazuma, 1x Sumeru, or
- 1x Inazuma, 1x Sumeru, 1x Fontaine, and so on.
If that can be the case, you can use those Starglitter you get from new nations to buy these old characters instead 
(assuming paimon shop never changes).

Q: How many c7++ Characters do you own now? What’s the max amount of duplicates you have?
[My Situation]
A good example of a unit that don't actively seek out constellation of, but still get a decent number of it, is my Xiangling and my Fischl:
Though different from Xiangling who C0 can initially be obtainable for free via Spiral Abyss, I got my Fischl purely by wishing from banners that did not ⛔️ consist of her. (Didn't understand how 1.0 event worked back then, so did not get her freebie. Else would have been C6 by now).
Some others who are very close to maxing are:
I try to hold off as long as possible, especially Barbara and Noelle, since they do drop a lot and much easier compared to other newer 4☆ counterparts.
[Conserving Mats] Why I Stop at Lv.88 on Permanent Units
By permanent, I mean characters that you will always want in your team for their utility (example, such as: Zhongli, Bennett, Xingqiu, Kazuha, Raiden).
Especially if you are f2p or low spending who values conserving materials, my suggestion is to let these characters raise themselves naturally.
*in this context, all exp mention is referring to 'character exp'
89 to 90 needs 550,000 exp (rounded up)
smallest/regular enemies give 20 exp
550,000 ÷ 20 = 27,500 enemies
if using mainly 1 unit, this is more than enough lv.90 them in 1 year.
rough estimate, allowance for slight margin of error
numbers of regular enemies defeated in 1 year (hilichurl + slime) = 35,000
slimes: 16,400
hilichurls: 18,400
total: 34,800 → rounded up to 35,000
sample size
if split into 4 (for 4 frequent units): 35,000 ÷ 4 = 8,750 exp per year → full to lv.90 in 3.2 years (just in time for sneznaya perhaps?)
if split into 8 (for 8 frequent units): 35,000 ÷ 8 = 4,375 exp per year → full to lv.90 in 6.2 years
Stopping at lv.88 gives you the option to continue via the natural increase, and still opens up option to use exp books at later date, should you change your mind.
