[Version 3.7] Kaedehara Kazuha Guide - Leaves in the Wind

A wandering samurai from Inazuma with a modest and gentle personality.

Name: Kaedehara Kazuha

Rarity: ★★★★★

Vision: Anemo

Weapon: Sword

Birthday: 29th October

Region: Inazuma

Affiliation: The Crux

Normal Attack: Performs up to 5 rapid strikes.

Statistics:

Charged Attack: Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to unleash 2 rapid sword strikes.

Statistics:

Plunging Attack: Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.

Statistics:

Unleashes a secret technique as fierce as the rushing wind that pulls objects and opponents towards Kazuha's current position before launching opponents within the AoE, dealing Anemo DMG and lifting Kazuha into the air on a rushing gust of wind.

Within 10s of remaining airborne after casting Chihayaburu, Kazuha can unleash a powerful Plunging Attack known as Midare Ranzan.

Press

Can be used in mid-air.

Hold

Charges up before unleashing greater Anemo DMG over a larger AoE than Press Mode.

Plunging Attack: Midare Ranzan

When a Plunging Attack is performed using the effects of the Elemental Skill Chihayaburu, Plunging Attack DMG is converted to Anemo DMG. On landing, Kazuha creates a small wind tunnel via a secret blade technique that pulls in nearby objects and opponents. Midare Ranzan's DMG is considered Plunging Attack DMG.

Statistics:

The signature technique of Kazuha's self-styled bladework — a single slash that strikes with the force of the first winds of autumn, dealing AoE Anemo DMG. The blade's passage will leave behind a field named "Autumn Whirlwind" that periodically deals AoE Anemo DMG to opponents within its range.

Elemental Absorption

If Autumn Whirlwind comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro, it will deal additional elemental DMG of that type.

Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use.

Statistics:

Suggested Talent Levels

This is by no means an exact guide on what is best - this is just my personal suggestion.

If Chihayaburu comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro when cast, this Chihayaburu will absorb that element and if Plunging Attack: Midare Ranzan is used before the effect expires, it will deal an additional 200% ATK of the absorbed elemental type as DMG. This will be considered Plunging Attack DMG. Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use of Chihayaburu.

Upon triggering a Swirl reaction, Kaedehara Kazuha will grant all party members a 0.04% Elemental DMG Bonus to the element absorbed by Swirl for every point of Elemental Mastery he has for 8s. Bonuses for different elements obtained through this method can co-exist.

Decreases sprinting Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.

Acer Palmatum

C2 < C6

C1 lets Kazuha to use his Elemental Skill more often. This allows him to generate more particles which helps partially resolve his energy issue. This isn’t a great constellation that you should aim at settling for. It is really only necessary if you want higher constellations.

C2 is an incredible constellation that is absolutely worth pulling for. By increasing Kazuha’s Elemental Mastery you are also increasing the Elemental Damage he deals. His teammates will also gain Elemental Mastery which is especially perfect for a team with Dendro characters.

This increases the level to which Kazuha’s Elemental Skill can be increased to.

C4 is not important. It is not worth pulling for unless you are aiming for C6. Even without this constellation, Kazuha is already an excellent battery. The Energy regeneration when gliding is practically useless when in a battle.

This increases the level to which Kazuha’s Elemental Burst can be increased to.

While C6 is a great constellation, it does not have as big of an effect as C2. With this constellation unlocked Kazuha can effectively act as a Main DPS. By infusing his sword with Anemo he can easily cause more swirl reactions and apply Anemo to opponents. Before pulling for C6 you should consider if it is worth C6ing a Support / Sub DPS character to make him into a Main DPS when there are already many strong DPS characters who do not require constellations.

2-Piece: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.

4-Piece: Increases Swirl DMG by 60%. Decreases opponent's Elemental RES to the element infused in the Swirl by 40% for 10s.

Viridescent Venerer is the undisputed best artifact set for Kazuha. It increases his Anemo DMG and the damage caused by Swirl reactions. It also assists in lowering opponent’s Elemental RES which in turn acts like a buff for Kazuha’s teammates. This set can be utilised for either a Support / Sub DPS build or as a Main DPS build. It is versatile and can be unlocked early in the game as the domain is located in Mondstadt. While Elemental Mastery is the preferred attribute you can swap the Sands for Energy Recharge, the Goblet for Anemo DMG Bonus and the Circlet for CRIT Rate / CRIT DMG.

2-Piece: Anemo DMG Bonus +15%.

4-Piece: When Charged Attacks hit opponents, the equipping character's Normal Attack SPD will increase by 10% while Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG will increase by 40% for 15s.

The 2-piece bonus of Desert Pavilion Chronicle has the same effect as the 2-piece bonus of Viridescent Venerer. The 4-piece bonus is really only suitable in two situations:

  1. If your team has another Anemo character equipped with Viridescent Venerer and you are using Kazuha as a Main DPS
  2. Your Kazuha is C6

2-Piece: ATK +18%.

4-Piece: If the wielder of this artifact set uses a Sword, Claymore or Polearm, increases their Normal Attack DMG by 35%.

If you don’t want to test your luck on artifact domains you can always equip Kazuha with Gladiator’s Finale. It can be obtained by fighting bosses or through the Artifact Strongbox. Again, this set is no match for Viridescent Venerer but it is a potential alternative.

Other artifact sets that you can use on Kazuha include: Noblesse Oblige, Emblem of Severed Fate, Gilded Dreams.

Kazuha's signature weapon (Freedom Sworn) was created specifically for him, therefore making it his best choice. Its passive ability to increase the DPS potential of Kazuha's teammates makes this ideal for a Support or Sub-DPS build. It also has the highest Elemental Mastery out of any sword available. Swirl elemental reactions need Elemental Mastery to maximise damage.

While Kazuha is typically used in a Support or Sub-DPS role, you can have him as a Main-DPS. The best weapon for this role is the Primordial Jade Cutter. It has a high ATK value and also increases Kazuha's CRIT Rate by the highest amount of all the swords available.

Other 5-star weapon options include: Mistsplitter Reforged, Skyward Blade, Summit Shaper

Xiphos' Moonlight is one of the best 4-star options for Kazuha. It is able to increase both Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery - Kazuha's two main areas. It increases Kazuha's support capability while also easing the Energy Recharge pressure on his teammates. This is ideal for a Support or Sub-DPS build. It can be difficult to obtain as you can only get it through the Gacha system.

Iron Sting is the best F2P weapon option. It is a craftable sword from Liyue which means it is readily available and you can unlock it early in-game. It os easy to refine which makes it even more powerful. It has a reasonably high Elemental Mastery and suits Kazuha in a Support or Sub-DPS build.

Other 4-star weapon options include: Favonius Sword (Gacha), Sacrificial Sword (Gacha), Lion's Roar (Gacha)

Other 3-star weapon options include: Dark Iron Sword (Free)

Main DPS: Kazuha (C0+) → Groups enemies together and provides DMG buff to teammates.

Sub DPS: Xiangling (C0+) → Elemental Burst attaches Pyro to opponents and deals a large amount of DMG.

Sub DPS: Xingqiu (C0+) → Elemental Burst attaches Hydro to opponents.

So, what are the pros and cons of Kazuha?

Pros:

  • Amazing crowd control abilities
  • Buffs teammate’s Elemental Damage
  • Makes world exploration easier
  • Fits into every team composition
  • Has many F2P weapon options

Cons:

  • Not a powerful Main DPS

In my objective opinion, Kazuha is absolutely worth pulling for. The final decision as to whether you get him is up to you! Good Luck Travellers~
