Let's dive in~

★ INTRODUCTION ★

Today we will be looking at the mechanics of the newly added S-Rank Battlesuit [Lunar Vow: Crimson Love] (I'll call her Luna during the guide).

She is a PSY-type Valkyrie, Lightning/Bleeding DPS.

Luna DMG counts as Bleed DMG during QTE, Weapon Active, and Ultimate.

She is a Cross user but uses her huge chainsaw sword to make mush of her enemies.

She is also a good Lightning Support and provides Elemental Breach to the Lightning team, but some bonuses are locked behind ranks up.

I recommend that you aim for Herrscher of Truth if you need a support.

She is a powerful Lightning DPS and we can consider her at S0 like Herrscher of Thunder SSS or better in some situations.

As Bleeding DPS, Susannah looks better and less expensive if we consider Luna S0, but still strong enough. (maybe something could change on patch 7.1 who knows, but nothing sure for now).

S-rank Battlesuit [Lunar Vow: Crimson Love] character card can be obtained by pulling in the Expansion Supply.

Her signature Equipment can be obtained from the Equipment Expansion Supply.

The banner guarantees one Up Equipment every 50 pulls and the First 10 pulls are free!!!

• 280 Crystals = 1 pull

• 100 pulls = guaranteed UP Valkyrie

• Worst case 28000 Crystals

★ BATTLESUIT OVERVIEW ★

Let's talk about the skills that most characterize our Luna.

Let's start with her Leader Skills.

Leader Skill: Team Lightning DMG increases by 25%/26%/27%.

Enemies receive Bleeding DMG taken from Luna by 39%/40%/41%.

Her leader skills is good if she is the main DPS, as support will be optional.

As I had said at the beginning one of the peculiarities that immediately jumps out at the eye is the fact that her DMG counts as Bleed DMG.

Biting Mark

[Lunar Vow: Crimson Love] has a special bar that shows her current Biting Mark.

When the Biting Mark reaches 200 points, the bar will be maxed out and you can HOLD the Active Skill to use Sanguine Fest and enter in Frenzy state.

Sanguine Fest deals DMG and triggers 4s. Time Fracture.

Sanguine Fest gives 10% Elemental Breach to Luna. If a Valkyrie with the paralyze or bleeding tag

is in your team she will gain another 8% (18% total).

You can fill up the Biting Mark bar in different ways: Hold Weapon, Basic ATK, Evasion but the better and faster way to fill it up, is the QTE.

QTE is triggered by Time Fracture, weapon active, or Combo ATK.

Hold ATK during QTE to restore the Biting Mark.

QTE also triggers Time Fracture for 3 seconds.

After Holding ATK during QTE, press ATK again to cast the following Combo ATK.

Combo ATK restored 15 SP to the team.

Weapon Active

[Lunar Vow: Crimson Love]'s Active skill is independent of the weapon used.

Spam the Active Skill during frenzy state to deal massive Lightning DMG by spending Biting Mark.

Hold Active Skill during the frenzy state or consume all bar to unleash the Name of Protection and end the Frenzy state.

This ATK deals a lot of hits Lightning DMG and counts both as Combo DMG and Weapon DMG.

Another way to do a Combo Attack is during the basic combo.

Hold [ATK] on the 4th sequence to extend the slashing, restore Biting Mark, and trigger the following combo attack.

Ultimate

100 SP | CD 16s

Hold ULT to increase the DMG during the ultimate.

Her Ultimate has Time Stop.

Lightning team members gain elemental breach for 16s. 11% (S0) / 14% (S1) / 17% (SS).

We have different Playstyles with her.

• As DPS:

after doing all support stuff...

Luna QTE -> Hold ATK to fill Biting Mark -> following Combo ATK -> Sanguine Fest -> Spam Weapon Skill (until finish the Biting Mark) -> Name of Protection -> Ultimate

Another way could be like this:

Luna QTE -> Hold ATK to fill Biting Mark -> following Combo ATK -> Sanguine Fest -> Ultimate -> Name of Protection.

Spamming Weapon Skill and Name of Protection just add extra DMG, so sometimes against little enemies, you could skip them for a faster rotation.

But remember Combo ATK and Name of Protection give 15 SP to the team.

• As Support:

Luna QTE -> Hold ATK to fill Biting Mark -> following Combo ATK (if you need SP) -> Sanguine Fest -> Ultimate -> Change to DPS

This rotation doesn't consume any Biting Mark and after exit, Luna will recover SP faster and increase her Bleeding DMG suffered by the enemy.

Already at S0, is a strong DPS, however with rank up, she becomes even stronger, especially needed for her support role.

The recommended rank-ups are:

S1: More elemental breach to the Team, from 11% to 14%.

S2: Sanguine Fest increase Team Lightning DMG +30%.

SS: More elemental breach to the Team, from 14% to 17%.

• +100% Lightning DMG from her Ultimate.

SSS: For her maximum potential, all the previous ranks are other upgrading skills, like leader skill (S3, SS3), SP for herself (SS1), and more TDM for the team (SS2).

• Also, the SSS unlock SP Starting which is very useful in Memorial Arena.

Miss some support? I always recommend targeting those shown especially HoTr (very strong), however in their absence there are also Pardofelis and Fischl who can support the Lightning Team (of course the difference will be considerable).

★ GAMEPLAY ★

★ Lunar Vow: Crimson Love VS Herrscher of Truth ★

In the graph below, I consider only lightning as elemental bonus.

When looking at the respective Buffs one can see that both have similar distributions. One has the upper hand on one type of Buff while the other has it on a different type.

However, HoTr can potentially recover more SP for the team and is less gear-dependent than Luna, at least in terms of applying Buffs and Debuffs. Also, she can use Turgenev way more efficiently and she only needs her signature weapon to function.

Luna's advantage is that she deals with an absurd amount of DMG herself, which helps her to compete with HoTr.

Most of Luna's highest Buffs are locked behind her gear or Rank up and her F2P options are not that great since Handel is best used on Eden.

Another advantage that HoTr has is that she can not only be used for Lightning but also for Fire Teams, while Luna is only useful for Lightning. On top of that HoTr is a fairly good Ice DPS as well. Since HoTr is a 3 in 1 Valkyrie she should still be prioritized over Luna who is only a 2 in 1 (Lightning DPS & Support).

P.S. Luna support also has trouble synergizing with the 2nd Lightning support, Eden. This makes the teams a bit more frustrating to play since Luna needs her QTE to function and Eden cannot reliably trigger it fast.

★ Something else before Conclusion ★

Brick or Luna?

We have not forgotten the great Herscherr of Sentience.

Anyway to make it short, her new set, is to turn her into a strong DPS.

We can consider her power at rank SS with the full set (Infinite Intimidator and Pericles), it is around as strong as Hare full S1 on neutral bosses.

However who to take? Depends on what you need, Luna and HoS cover totally different roles, the advice I give you is this:

• If you need a physical DPS aim for the Herrscher of Sentice set.

• If you need a Lightning DPS think about getting Luna.

• However in any case if they are present, and you don't have them yet, the priority always falls to Herrscher of Rebirth (for the physical team) and Herrscher of Truth (for the elemental team).

Returnee Event

For those captains who have deserted, this is the best opportunity to come back aboard the Hyperion!

Your waifu is waiting for you on the bridge to slash your bellies because you abandoned them.

Maybe I shouldn't have said that.

If you have not been active for at least 60 days, you will be able to participate in the Returnee Event!

'There always has been a Returnee Event' you will say... but there is one new thing!

You can get a Valkyrie either Herrscher of Flamescion or Silverwing: N-EX for free!

You have to do fairly simple missions that require just the normal gameplay of routine or some event from the current patch.

You can also choose the Valkyrie later if you are undecided, by clicking in the upper left corner.

Both are very good regarding Abyss and MA, choose based on preference or what you lack, HoF if you don't have a fire or PSY DPS, and SW if you lack an ice or BIO.

With these missions, you will also get many other rewards and crystals.

And you can also spend B-chips to get crystals and the signature weapon of the chosen Valkyrie.

It is possible to exchange Emblems of Departure (you can get only 3 without pay) for Stigmata or Fragments of SP Valks.

Stigmata are divided into two types of boxes, where you can get a maximum of 2 stigmata per box.

In the first are present Shuijing, Fu Hua: Margave, and Turgenev (the latter highly recommended, take T and B).

The other box contains various G3 Stigmata: Ana Set for ice, Leeuwenhoek for fire, Goemon for lightning, and Kafka for physical (this last one is not recommended, the other instead can be upgraded to the new G4 stigmata).

There is also a Trial for the chosen Valk present and it gives extra crystals.

During this patch there are a lot of events and rewards so this is the best moment to return to Honkai!

★ Conclusion ★

Beginner

As always if you want an easy life in the game, the best investment of your crystals will be Herrscher of Rebirth (for the physical team) and Herrscher of Truth (for the elemental team). If you are starting the game it can be already enough to just aim for the latest SP Valk, that got released (Pardofelis, Kira, Prometheus, Griseo, Eden, Ai-chan, Susannah), they are very strong as DMG dealers for your levels and will be vital supports for your future teams.

A Spending Event is present during this patch, so spending a few crystals will not hurt.

The best choice to spend this currency would be the Elf Boxes (x75 box = 750 Tokens, around 40k crystals spent), and choose Kiana Elf.

However, if you don't care you can also just take what you want and aim for waifu > meta.

I don't recommend to get the HoS's Brick for new players.

Mid/high level captain

If you have read what was written in beginner, the same applies here.

So your problem now is Luna or Brick?

As I said before it depends on what you need.

Personally, however, I would recommend trying for Luna since she can cover more bosses.

Luna will take every boss which was for HoT in Abyss and Memorial Arena. (BKE, RPC, MHT-3B, Nihilus...).

Luna is more powerful and faster than HoT and has a better Time Fracture and is easier to play.

On top of that, she is also a good lightning support, with a lot of room for improvement with rank up.

She gets new bosses for her, which are hard to beat otherwise and can be used to an extent against some older bleeding enemies.

What about the great Herrscher of Sentience? There are not many bosses where using HoS as a DPS is necessary, however, if you want you could try to take at least the Brick (her weapon), since that is the most important piece to transform her into a DPS. It is also a Divine key and provides +10 permanent ATK for everyone.

Pericles is not so necessary outside of Nirvana. The Sword Set or Sirin Asc/Dirac should be enough for this difficulty.

Nirvana players

What do I need to say? Take everything!!!

Full gear [Lunar Vow: Crimson Love] is mandatory to stay in Nirvana and maintain a high score.

Recommended to upgrade her to S2.

Thanks to the Spending Event, use the tokens for ELF Kiana 4★ if you do not have her already.

Don't forget to take everything you need for Senti.
