Mechanisms & properties

Crystal Core Energy

Crystal Core is a crucial gadget for exploration, it can be obtained by proceeding through the main story and can be upgraded according to the player level in the part two main story, the energy cap increases at levels 7 and 13. Certain Mechanisms and treasures require higher energy than others to be unlocked and need to be recharged upon being spent (refer to the crystals under the SP bar to know how much energy you currently possess), interacting with crystal core chunks restores the energy to max and may be consumed multiple times while reflective crystal cores provide a smaller amount of energy and can only be used once. Make sure to always have your energy charged for convenience purposes.

Shadow Remnant

Shadow Remnant is a combat enhancing gadget consisting of an artifact providing a special effect and three piece sets that provide additional bonuses upon equipping a max of two pieces of the same set, each creature aspect piece has different stats obtained randomly upon completing Dream of Loss stages. Each piece comes in 3 different rarities: blue, purple and orange, which are respectively the weakest to the strongest, challenging higher levels of Dream of Loss stages increases the chances of getting stronger pieces. To challenge Dream of Loss stages, players must spend energy capsules obtained by logging in everyday. The current available sets and base stats are:

Weapon: Faux Power - 2 Piece bonus provides all team members 50 ATK.

Sacrifice: Faux Power - 2 Piece bonus provides all team members 200 HP.

Dimension Beacon & Propelled Pestle

Two teleport mechanisms are available for players to move swiftly through the map: the Dimension Beacon, which unlocks new areas in the map upon interaction, and the Propelled Pestle, both heal all characters to max HP when nearby. When important quests are ongoing, players will automatically be teleported to the quest area and all teleportation methods will be disabled.

Photographic Memory & Stardust Scattered

Two kinds of puzzles can be found in v7.3 Langqiu map, Photographic Memory requires players to fit the given pieces into the square (which vary in both size and quantity according to the puzzle difficulty) and rewards players with a treasure chest, while Stardust Scattered is a puzzle exclusive to opening paths behind doors, to activate it players must connect outlets to pass on energy to the "exit", more than one destination may appear and each will be indicated by different numbers.

Grappling Hook & Everlasting Lightpost & Destructible walls and floors

The Grappling Hook is a mechanism also present in A Post Honkai Odyssey, enabling characters to move towards it upon interacting, helping them reach higher heights or move around in air, they may often be paired with Unstable Platforms able to shatter after being stepped on for a certain time. Everlasting Lightposts come in pairs with one of them being activated and the other one requiring activation, fetching the Glowing Lamp from an activated lightpost causes it to follow characters and it can be placed on an unlit lightpost to activate it. Destructible walls and floors are visually "damaged" and can be broken by characters attacks or nearby explosives, opening a new path or revealing a hidden chest.

Cracked Goblet

Interacting with a Cracked Goblet initiates a challenge mode which can vary from defeating enhanced enemies to reaching a target location within the time limit, completing the challenges and interacting with the goblets again teleports players to a special arena for an additional challenge. Upon completing it, players get a treasure reward.

Enemies in Langqiu

Enemies are present Langqiu explorable areas, defeating them for the first time may grant players a chest. Beware of the darker area shown in the second picture, the Shadow Fog enhances enemies and reduce on field characters HP, as well as reducing leap height. After defeating enemies, players may consume Crystal Core energy to unseal the Shadow Core to clear the area temporarily, however, the unsealing process takes 30 seconds to take effect and characters must stay in the Shadow Fog until the timer is over. Being discovered by enemies does not lock players to the fight, therefore, retreating upon meeting higher level enemies is possible and recommended. Characters can be revived during battles with the 'First Aid Kit' item obtained in part 2 open world.

Astral Aura and Healing Pouch

Upon exploring, players may encounter recovery items that provide different effects: Astral Aura recovers Astral Ring energy, Healing pouch recovers team HP and SP pouch recovers team SP. There are also collectable materials used to enhance Shadow Remnant artifacts.

Menu Buttons

The icons seen next to the map all provide different functions such as showing completed and in progress achievements, the quest menu which separates main story quests, daily quests and side story quests thoroughly, and a time adjustment mechanism allowing players to skip long interval of times, which may be needed for certain quests. Some features encountered on the menu can be accessed in the Dreamseeker's Home as well.

Data Turbulence and Sea Mirage

There currently are two challenge modes: Data Turbulence and Sea Mirage, with several stages with different settings and enemies for players to fight against, some of which are level locked due to their difficulties in which players will encounter stronger enemies, therefore Enhancing Shadow Remnants and story mode level are crucial for late stages. Each stage provides its own set of rewards.
