BUDGET XINYAN GUIDE
SUMMARY
Xinyan is a 4-Star Claymore character who can be played as a Physical DPS character or a Support character since she can provide some off-field Pyro application and a Shield through her Skill or grant Physical DMG Bonus through her A4 Passive

Infographic assumes a DPS character and leveled up her talents to 8/8/8, however if you're playing her as a Support character, you don't need to level up her NA Talent and can focus on upgrading her Skill first.

Artifact Sets
- In Physical DPS builds, you can opt for two 2pc Physical DMG Bonus sets or 2pc Physical / 2pc ATK Sets.
- For a Support Xinyan, you can utilize 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith to buff the team's ATK a bit (need to hit enemies with her Shield Lv 3 periodic DMG) or 2pc Husk of Opulent Dreams for additional DEF % for a thicker shield
Main Stat & Substats
- ATK % Sands is preferred for Physical Xinyan's DMG, but an ER Sands works if you need it to help get her Burst back
- At C6, Xinyan can use a DEF % Sands if you plan on integrating Charged Attacks into her playstyle
- For a Shield Support Xinyan, focus on DEF %
- At C2, Xinyan can build more CRIT DMG and a bit less CRIT Rate
WEAPON OPTIONS
Serpent Spine - BP Weapon with CRIT Rate substat. This weapon is always a solid option on DPS Claymore characters
ATK % Weapons
- Luxurious Sea-Lord - Limited-Time Event weapon which increases Burst DMG
- Tidal Shadow - Craftable weapon that can further increase ATK % with the help of a reliable healer on the team
- Wolf's Gravestone - Standard Banner weapon that works great as an ATK % stat stick
- Prototype Archaic - Craftable weapon with Passive that can deal a bit of extra DMG
ER Weapons
- Skyward Pride - Standard Banner weapon. Passive will also deal some additional Physical DMG
- "Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword" aka Melusine Claymore - Event weapon that also increases ATK % through the Passive
- Sacrificial Greatsword - Ideal option for Support Xinyan in combination with 4pc Tenacity to maximize Artifact Set uptime
Other
- Snow-Tombed Starsilver - Craftable with Physical DMG Bonus substat, but ends up less effective than Prototype Archaic
- Whiteblind - Craftable with DEF % substat and great as a Support weapon
TEAM COMPS
If Xinyan is the Physical DPS:
- Off-field Electro application: Fischl, Raiden Shogun, Kuki Shinobu, Beidou, Yae Miko
- Off-field Cryo: Rosaria, Kaeya, Ganyu, Mika, Charlotte
- Flex: Can run second Cryo, Electro, or a healer
Support
- Physical - Can utilize her C4 and A4 to increase the DMG of other Physical DPS characters such as Eula, Razor, Freminet, and Rosaria
- Otherwise, she can generally be used for her Shield and/or Pyro application such as in Mono Pyro teams with Lyney or Klee
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the weapon banner.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 8 / 8 / 8. See note in Ascension Material section
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
