Ok so it was totally not what I thought could happen and I am a little miffed that there's no story tie in for the boss fight aspect of the event but I can accept what we got in the end.
The cutscene mostly makes up for it because I really liked the pacing...... Who am I kidding. It's because that Alcor is sailing and it's sailing far!
Beidou doing a double take on Ningguang's new very seductive evening wear and Ningguang's sassy reply was magic and yes I'm totally a shipper. [emoji][emoji]
*ut I also liked the intro for Keqing's new outfit and I'm intrigued by the focus on her character growth. This whole event has felt like one big grooming arc showing that eventually Keqing will take over as leader of Liyue.
Also in hindsight I think my version would have dragged out the quest and probably feel more like an Archon Quest. I mean it would have to converge 2 different questlines and bring back a boss and still end on a high note because Lantern Rite. Just Beisht showing up again probably calls for another cutscene. But it would still have been fun so maybe next year haha. [emoji]
And that's how I want to wrap this topic up. I am still holding MiHoYo to a Xinyan concert. [emoji][emoji]We've had a character arc building since Moonchase and I need that payoff. You guys made a point to have Yun Jin be Xinyan's friend and love rock n roll even though she sings opera and I need them to do a duet especially since Yun Jin's thing is to break from tradition.
Also even if it's just a cute chibi clip or something I still want to see Mondstadt and Inazuma reacting to the region-wide fireworks of this Lantern Rite. I can imagine Yoimiya freaking out and waking an annoyed Sayu who has to be held back by Thoma and he needs to defuse the situation. [emoji][emoji][emoji]And I already said for Mondstadt I just want to see Jean hard at work in her office and then the fireworks go off behind her outside of her window and without even looking she goes "KLEE!" [emoji][emoji]
And that reminds me. Last year bilibili had a fanmade Lantern Rite/Chinese New Year program so I'll look that up and see what they came up with this year.
