MiHoYo Finally Released Him from Jail | Kaveh | Genshin Impact Detailed Character Guide [Version 4.8]

From Genshin Impact Character Guide

Kaveh

The renowned architect marks his first rerun debut appearance on Version 4.8! Kaveh is known for being thoughtful of others, even sacrificing his own funds to help the needy. This is a surprise when he voluntarily builds his magnum opus, Palace of Alcazarzaray, for Dori, which is fully funded by a loan from Dori. Despite his massive debt, it doesn't change how Kaveh perceives the world, despite being saddened by what happened to his father. He became playable on May 2, 2023.

I'm Kaveh, an architect. If you have a project you'd like me to work on, then I'll need a detailed description of what you have in mind.

Popsicle's Short Review

▲PROS: Kaveh is a four-star DPS unit that allows you to play with the most destructive item in the game - Bloom Cores. If paired with high Elemental Mastery built into him, he would easily pop Bloom Cores, allowing you to see various damages that will make your enemies disappear in a minute. This is why he excels best when placed in Bloom team composition. Even though Nilou is a general requirement for Bloom team compositions, he can be flexible as long you have a decent Hydro Off-field DPS. Additionally, he can passively heal himself, allowing you to be in the middle of the fight and sustain Bloom damage and not worrying his survivability.

▼CONS: Because of his excellent kit in Bloom team composition, he is under par when placed with other Dendro-related team compositions. His high Energy cost on his Burst makes him a tricky character to build since not all characters can provide him enough particles when stuck to the usual Bloom teams. This comes with a problem as no currently available five-star claymore has an Elemental Mastery substat. Make sure to balance his Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge.

Combat Profile

✦ Normal Attack | Schematic Setup

➤ Kaveh's Normal Attack lets him use Mehrak to act on his behalf to perform 4 consecutive attacks, dealing Physical DMG. As you can see in the animation above, his attacks consist of architectural-themed attack animation. Although his damage multiplier is somewhat decent, it can be improved by activating his Burst.

➤ Player consensus suggests having 3x NA - Dash as your attack combo, alongside Charged Attack Spam in some cases, since it provides the highest Dendro application and highest damage multiplier you can get. The fourth attack animation takes time before it hits the opponents, which decreases your damage over time.

✦ Elemental Skill | Artistic Ingenuity

❝Scanning!❠

➤ His Elemental Skill allows him to scan Dendro cores on the ground and immediately pop them off, dealing AoE Dendro DMG. Remember that he doesn't generally own the Dendro core when exploding them, so please be mindful of the Elemental Mastery of your Hydro Off-field DPS. Additionally, when fighting on uneven terrain, he can't pop the Dendro cores on higher elevation.

✦ Elemental Burst | Sweeping Time

❝Breaking new ground.❠

➤ The core of Kaveh's kit lies on his Elemental Burst. It allows Kaveh to become a potent Dendro DPS because of the buff he gain when using his Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack, as well infusing his claymore with Dendro. Additionally, all of the cores his team creates will receive buff, allowing Kaveh to have a high damage values when dealing Bloom-related reactions (this includes Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Quickbloom).

➤ It also provides Kaveh a much needed interruption resistance because of the impact of the exploding Dendro cores during combat.

Passive Ability

✦ Utility Passive | The Art of Budgeting

❝Is that the client...? Wait... Oh! It's you.❠

◢ When Kaveh crafts Landscape, Building, and Courtyard-type Furnishings, he has a 100% chance to refund a portion of the materials used.

➤ One of the underrated passive ability that allows Kaveh to receive a high chance of refunding the materials used in Serenitea Pot. If you love landscaping and use the Serenitea Pot to your heart's content, make sure to get Kaveh.

✦ 1st Ascension Passive | An Architect's Undertaking

❝This'll do nicely... Thank you.❠

◢ When DMG dealt by a Dendro Core (including DMG from Burgeon and Hyperbloom) hits Kaveh, Kaveh will regain HP equal to 300% of his Elemental Mastery. This effect can be triggered once every 0.5s.

➤ One of the reason why Kaveh is used in all Bloom-team composition is his passive healing kit, which is found on his A1 Passive. This allows Kaveh to further increase his own survivability on bursting Dendro Cores through his kit. You can further enhance his survivability by having a Shielder in your team (preferably Zhongli), or Healers. Either way, use your own discretion when formulation Kaveh's team composition.

✦ 4th Ascension Passive | A Craftsman's Curious Conceptions

❝My horizons have been broadened... I hope I can hold on to this feeling.❠

◢ During Painted Dome, after Kaveh's Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks hit opponents, his Elemental Mastery will increase by 25. This effect can be triggered once every 0.1s. Max 4 stacks. This effect will be canceled when Painted Dome's effects end.

➤ A straightforward buff that only applies on Kaveh. You can further increase the effectiveness of his A4 Passive by building Kaveh with all-Elemental Mastery main stat on his artifact set.

Constellations

✦ C1 - Sublime Salutations

➤ A nice increase to Kaveh's survivability and damage because of the Dendro shredding and Incoming Healing Bonus. Players are often gearing to get his C1 because of its compatibility to Ocean-Hued Clam to further increase his damage values.

✦ C2 - Grace of Royal Roads

➤ A slight increase of Kaveh's total damage because of decent SPD Boost from his C2. You can further experiment your team composition with Kaveh by using Yun Jin (C6).

✦ C3 - Profferings of Dur Untash

➤ It further increases her Elemental Burst's DMG multiplier and the buff that Kaveh will take advantage of. Upon unlocking, prioritize levelling up his Elemental Burst's DMG level.

✦ C4 - Feast of Apadana

➤ Although the effects of his C4 varies depending on his team composition, it shines a lot when he is the sole Dendro unit in his team, allowing you to re-adjust your team composition.

✦ C5 - Treasures of Bonkhanak

➤ It further increases his Elemental Burst's talent level.

✦ C6 - Pairidaeza's Dreams

➤ Kaveh's best constellation. It allow him to deal consistent damage from the Pairidaeza's Light. If you are preparing to get all of his constellation, having an ATK% substat is now viable and recommended to have.

About Constellation

➤ Paradisaea = Bird-of-Paradise

➤ The entire species under Paradisaea Family marks a great symbolism of the gods favoring aesthetic in all forms of art, including architecture. It is often used by ancient masons and artists as their inspiration to make an art for their project. The image of his constellation is heavily inspired to Huma bird - an Iranian mythological bird that brings eternity of joy if someone sees it. Anyone who also touches the bird is said to bring luck for eternity.

Build Notes

Kaveh really shines as a driver for Bloom-related team composition, allowing you to maximize by always activating Dendro cores or popping those cores against the opponents. His Energy Recharge, albeit on the higher side, requires you to focus his team composition by providing him the much needed Energy. As always, you can check his talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section.

Dendro On-Field DPS Weapon Recommendation

  • Redhorn Stonethresher
  • Kaveh's recommended five-star weapon
  • Kaveh's first choice if you have a five-star inventory. Although the passive scales on DEF do have the highest Crit DMG among all Claymore, it also increases his Normal and Charged Attack DMG.

  • Skyward Pride
  • Kaveh's alternative five-star weapon
  • Kaveh's another five-star option that you can use because of its high Energy Recharge substat and overall increase of his DMG on his passive, making it one of the on-par weapons to use for him.

  • Makhaira Aquamarine
  • Kaveh's recommended four-star weapon
  • A decent option for Kaveh as it gives Elemental Mastery substat. It also beneficial for his Off-field DPS that scales on ATK.

  • Mailed Flower
  • Kaveh's alternative four-star weapon
  • Another good option for Kaveh is this event weapon since you can activate its passive with ease and it provides more Elemental Mastery than Makhaira Aquamarine at R5.

  • Favonius Greatsword
  • Kaveh's alternative four-star weapon
  • Although it sacrifices your damage due to its low Base ATK and no Elemental Mastery substat, it compensates on having a large Energy Recharge substat that enables you to use his Elemental Burst with ease, lowering his Energy Recharge requirements.
Favonius Greatsword | Genshin Impact Weapon Guide

  • Forest Regalia
  • Kaveh's alternative four-star weapon
  • Another option for Kaveh because of its Energy Recharge and additional Elemental Mastery from its passive. However, the droppings of Leaf of Consciousness might lead you to damage loss.

  • Rainslasher
  • Kaveh's alternative four-star weapon
  • Another decent option as it gives an Elemental Mastery substat.
Rainslasher | Weapon Guide
30k
  • Katsuragikiri Nagamasa
  • Kaveh's alternative four-star weapon
  • It can act as an alternative to Favonius Greatsword since this weapon holds the second largest Energy Recharge substat in the claymore weapon roster. However, its passive works well if you have more than R3.
Katsuragikiri Nagamasa | Genshin Impact Weapon Guide

  • Bloodtainted Greatsword
  • Kaveh's recommended three-star weapon
  • Similar to Rainslasher, it only serves as a stat stick for Kaveh.

Dendro On-Field DPS Artifact Recommendation

  • Deepwood Memories
  • Kaveh's default artifact set
  • The default artifact set for any Dendro characters because of its flexibility and capacity to fully maximize the four-piece set bonus.
Deepwood Memories | Artifact Set Guide
2,972

  • Ocean-Hued Clam
  • Kaveh's default artifact set
  • It can be Kaveh's default artifact set when you activate his C1 since it gives more damage potential than Deepwood Memories. You can also use this set for him even at C0; just make sure one of his team will carry the Deepwood Memories set.
Ocean-Hued Clam | Artifact Set Guide
2,149
  • Flower of Paradise Lost
  • Kaveh's alternative artifact set
  • If Kaveh owned almost all of the Blooms he created, this set would work well for him.
Flower of Paradise Lost | Artifact Set Guide
3,882
  • Gilded Dreams
  • Kaveh's alternative artifact set
  • It works similarly to the Flower of Paradise Lost, but it tends to have lower damage potential due to bonus uptime issues. After all, it can be your temporary set, especially when you are gearing up to use the Deepwood Memories set on him.
Gilded Dreams | Artifact Set Guide
7,350
  • Deepwood Memories / +20% Energy Recharge set
  • Kaveh's alternative artifact set
  • It does give Kaveh much-needed flexibility to increase his Energy Recharge attribute further. It can also be a transitional set if you finally reach his Energy Recharge needs on 4-piece Deepwood Memories.

  • Deepwood Memories / +80 Elemental Mastery set
  • Kaveh's alternative artifact set
  • You can use this as a transitional set to get his four-piece Deepwood Memories or a mainstay if you lack Elemental Mastery weapons in your weapon roster.

Team Recommendation

➤ Here are some team compositions you may use for Kaveh.

➤ If you can use these characters when building his team composition. It will differ depending on your character availability and preferred playstyle.

Party Rotation

It provides a general rotation outlook for the most popular team composition, according to internet data.

It can be changed depending on the weapons and artifact sets that each unit is equipped with.

Community Consensus

Conclusion

Kaveh debuts as one of the amazing four-star DPS you can now enjoy, especially when you are keen to use Dendro-related reactions, such as Bloom, Hyperbloom, and Quickbloom. This allows new players to enjoy the Dendro reactions immediately while not sacrificing their HP because of its innate healing capabilities. If you can adopt to the flaws and challenges that Kaveh brings to the table, I could definitely say that you will enjoy playing him on the game.
