BUDGET SUPPORT MONA GUIDE
SUMMARY
Mona is a Standard 5-Star Catalyst character who can be an on-field DPS character, but is typically played as a Support character whose Burst can provide a short DMG buff. This Budget Guide will discuss her Support build, please reference another guide if you need help building her as DPS

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is the best general Support Set as Mona should be Bursting often and it provides an ATK buff to the team
- An alternative can be 4pc Tenacity of the Millelith, which can provide a brief ATK buff, but this set should only be chosen if you have another character on the team that is holding 4pc Noblesse Oblige (like Bennett)
- 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate can help build a bit of ER and allow Mona to deal some damage as well, but it is not as preferred as the above two sets that are purely Supportive
Main Stat & Substats
- Mona has high ER requirements as using her Burst every rotation is crucial. ER Sands/Substats as well as her ER Ascension stat will help. If you find that you can get her Burst back without an ER Sands, you can use an ATK Sands to increase her personal DMG
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Favonius Codex is the best ER weapon option - make sure to build enough CRIT Rate on Mona
- Prototype Amber - Craftable weapon with Passive that regenerates Energy and can heal the Party after Bursting. This weapon is most suitable in Freeze teams as you can potentially run Prototype Amber instead of a healer
- Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (TTDS) - 3-Star Catalyst option that can provide an ATK buff to the next character you swap to. This is a Support weapon that is great for ATK scalers, as long as you can build enough ER on Mona to Burst consistently
- Hakushin Ring - Craftable weapon with ER substat, Passive can be useful in Electro-Charged teams
- Oathsworn Eye - Limited-time Event weapon with a Passive that can help a bit with ER, but does not provide as much benefit as the options listed above
TEAM COMPS
Mona can be used in a Freeze team or as a general Support unit
Freeze - Cryo DPS / Cryo Support / Anemo VV holder
- Cryo DPS: Ayaka, Ganyu
- Cryo Support: Shenhe, Rosaria, Kaeya, Layla, Diona, Charlotte
General Support - typically alongside Bennett, a 4pc VV holder, and a DPS (that suits the short Omen duration, such as Raiden Shogun/Hu Tao)
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wishd as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
