All hail to the Eternal Excellency, the Mighty Narukami Ogosho. Raiden Shogun is the current Electro Archon that governs in Inazuma. With the might of her lightning at her disposal, she is well known for being verse in combat, allowing her to save Inazuma from various calamities that plague her nation. After the death of her twin sister and the loss of her friends, she began to pursuit a radical ideology of Eternity, isolating her nation to the outside world, confiscating the Vision of the people, and having a disdain to the appearance of the Traveler. After Traveler's attempts, she began to shift her views to adopt Makoto's version of Eternity. She became playable on September 1, 2021, and this is her fourth rerun.

▲PROS: Despite the changes on various meta, Raiden Shogun still prevails as the best Electro unit in the game with a flexibility that is outmatch by any other character. She can fulfill two roles that players may use depending on their preferred playstyle. As Main DPS, she is considered one of the strongest and powerful DPS and deal a lot of damage values when fully invested on her. As Electro Off-field DPS, she can deal consistent Electro attacks that can be used on various elemental reaction, especially around Dendro-related reactions, and her attacks are long-lasting. Due to her innate flexibility, she can be on most team compositions and can be put on future characters.
▼CONS: Despite her advantages, Raiden Shogun often requires a high Energy Recharge attribute in order to use her Burst in every rotation (when used as DPS). Additionally, her high damage can cause detrimental effects on regaining her Energy. Her Off-field damages are often okay at best, but other Electro characters can fulfill the role.

➤ Raiden Shogun does have a unique attack animation on her Normal and Charged Attack. The attack animation speed can be used as a driver, but its damage multiplier is left to be desired and usually the last priority on leveling her NA.
✦ Elemental Skill | Transcendence: Baleful Omen

➤ Raiden Shogun's Elemental Skill provides an excellent Electro application against enemies, allowing her shards of her Euthymia to deal coordinated damage against her opponents. You need to hit your opponent to activate the coordinated damage. It won't activate when fighting enemies with Elemental shield. With high uptime of her Skill, it fits perfectly on Dendro-related reactions, especially on Hyperbloom team compositions.
✦ Elemental Burst | Secret Art: Musou Shinsetsu
❝Now, you shall perish!❠
➤ When playing her as DPS, her Burst is her main source of damage. It allows her to switch from her polearm to her sword infused with Electro DMG. Even though you are using her Normal Attack, she won't benefitting to the Normal Attack buff as all of the damage are considered Burst DMG. Additionally, she can't be interrupted by the enemies and refunds flat energy to her team. Lastly, her Chakra Desiderate requires Raiden Shogun to be the last character to activate her Elemental Burst. When her team party uses their Elemental Burst, it will build up Resolve stacks (which are based on the energy cost of your team's Elemental Burst). This will provide an additional bonus to her ATK damage.
➤ Player consensus recommends using N3C+N3C+N3C+N1C to maximize her damage capabilities. For newer players, you can use N4C+N4C+N2C as the rotation is easier to pull off.

◢ Mora expended when ascending Swords and Polearms is decreased by 50%.
➤ If you are short on Mora, this utility passive comes in handy, but it limits on ascending swords and polearms only.
✦ 1st Ascension Passive | Wishes Unnumbered
❝The initial stage of my journey, or Shoden, involves learning the nine-way sword slash and the foundations of the art of the polearm.❠
◢ When nearby party members gain Elemental Orbs or Particles, Chakra Desiderata gains 2 Resolve stacks. This effect can occur once every 3s.
➤ Her A1 Passive allows Raiden Shogun to gain 2 Resolved stacks when her team party gains an Elemental Orb or Particle. This eases her way to getting more Resolve stacks and increases her Elemental Burst directly. She can also activate this passive even if she is not the one who will obtain those orbs/particles.
✦ 4th Ascension Passive | Enlightened One
❝The final stage of my journey, or Kaiden, is the study of the most profound techniques. Unavoidably, these draw heavily on elemental power, rendering them beyond the capabilities of most mortals.❠
◢ Each 1% above 100% Energy Recharge that the Raiden Shogun possesses grants her:
- 0.6% greater Energy restoration from Musou Isshin
- 0.4% Electro DMG Bonus.
➤ Her A4 Passive synergizes on Raiden Shogun's need for a high Energy Recharge attribute, allowing her to get this buff. You can invest more in her Energy Recharge to take advantage of the buff on her passive to increase the Electro DMG Bonus and the energy restoration from her Musou Isshin.

✦ C1 - Ominous Inscription
➤ Her first constellation allows Raiden Shogun to increase the rate of gathering Resolve. This increase of Resolve that she gains increases her Elemental Burst DMG.
✦ C2 - Steelbreaker
➤ Her second constellation ignores the opponent's Defense attribute by 60% while using her Musou no Hitotachi and in Musou Isshin state. It is not a defense shred, but it further increases her personal damage.
✦ C3 - Shinkage Bygones
➤ Her third constellation increases her Elemental Burst Talent Level, which increases her damage.
✦ C4 - Pledge of Propriety
➤ Her fourth constellation gives her party members a 30% bonus ATK for 10 seconds after her Elemental Burst expires. It allows her Off-field teams to increase their contribution to dealing damage against the opponents. Although it doesn't increase her personal damage, it is a good buff for her team party.
✦ C5 - Shogun's Descent
➤ Her fifth constellation increases her Elemental Skill Talent Level, which benefits a lot when her role in her team is Electro Off-field DPS.

➤ Her sixth constellation decreases the Elemental Burst cooldown of her team party when she deals Elemental Burst DMG by 1 second when they hit opponents, which can activate 5 times

➤ In Japan, the Emperor often delegate someone to handle the Imperial Army making them the military ruler. It can be attributed to the relationship between Makoto and Ei, where Makoto is the Empress while Ei acts as the Shogun. This allows her to bear the constellation name. After the death of her sister, Ei assumed control as the current Empress and Shogun at the same time. This is a similar event during the Kamakura and Sengoku period, where the military rulers are also the head of the nation.

Build Notes
As mentioned, Raiden Shogun is an amazing Electro DPS, allowing her to deal massive amount of damage against opponents with ease. For most players, this is her default role. When choosing her artifact main stat, it is dependent on the team composition you will have on her. As always, you can check her talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section.
ATK% Sands is better if you are running her with ATK buffers, but it is compensated with Electro DMG Bonus Goblet.
Energy Recharge Sands is usually the best picked among players especially when they need to reach her personal Energy Recharge attribute. It is often recommended to use ER Sands when she has Engulfing Lightning.
ATK% Goblet is a niche yet respectable choice especially when she is running with team with damage buff.
Elemental Mastery Sands is often preferred when she is placed Quickened, Quickbloom, or Hyperbloom team composition, especially when she is the one who will trigger those reactions.
Electro On-field DPS Weapon Recommendation
- Engulfing Lightning
- Raiden Shogun's recommended five-star weapon.
- It is Raiden Shogun's signature weapon that allows her to convert her Energy Recharge into ATK%, making it tailored to her kit. It incentivizes the use of her Energy Recharge on her Sands than ATK.
- Staff of Homa
- Raiden Shogun's alternative five-star weapon.
- Her alternative weapon due to its high Crit DMG substat. It is not recommended to lower her HP to less than 50%, especially if you can't ensure her survival in the game.
- Lumidouce Elegy
- Raiden Shogun's alternative five-star weapon.
- Another decent option for Raiden Shogun because of the ATK increases and the Crit Rate substat. It's not recommended to fully utilize the weapon's passive.
- Staff of the Scarlet Sands
- Raiden Shogun's alternative five-star weapon.
- A great option for Raiden Shogun when placed in the Dendro team composition, especially in Aggravate and Quickbloom team composition. The high Crit Rate is really appreciated.
- "The Catch"
- Raiden Shogun's recommended four-star weapon.
- A recommended F2P weapon for her as it gives her the highest Energy Recharge attribute, not to mention the buff she received on her Elemental Burst. Remember to use Thoma when farming for its refinement material to make fishing more bearable. Additionally, it competes her five-star roster weapons when you increase its refinement to R5.
- Ballad of the Fjords
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- It works similarly to Staff of the Scarlet Sands, perfect when she is placed in Aggravate and Quickbloom team composition.
- Lithic Spear
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- It is a solid choice for her when placed in the National Team and other team compositions with 2 or more Liyue characters. It becomes a competitive option for her when this weapon's refinement rank reaches R5.
- Wavebreaker's Fin
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- When Raiden Shogun is placed on a team composition with high Energy costs, at R5, it is a competitive weapon for her that increases her ATK% and Elemental Burst DMG.
- Deathmatch
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- Another solid weapon for Raiden Shogun due to its high Crit Rate value. However, this weapon only works with multiple enemies. Additionally, it is not usually worth it to get Battle Pass for this weapon. Just get the Ballad of the Fjords.
- Prospector's Drill
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- One of the newest polearms that Raiden Shogun can use to further increase her Elemental DMG and ATK%. Make sure that she is accompanied with a great healer, like Baizhu, Kokomi, or Barbara. At R5, it performs better on some of her four-star polearms.
- Favonius Lance
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- A weapon that you will use when you don't have any options for her. Usually used as a stat stick and it does lower her personal damage.
- Prototype Starglitter
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- Usually used as a stat stick.
Electro On-field DPS Artifact Recommendation
- Emblem of Severed Fate
- Raiden Shogun's default artifact set
- It is the default set for Raiden Shogun since all of the piece bonuses are tailored to her needs. Not to mention that the domain is resin efficient, making it the most undisputed artifact set for her.
- Tenacity of the Millelith
- Raiden Shogun's alternative artifact set
- Since her Elemental Skill does have a literal 100% uptime, she can use this artifact set. However, it does lower her personal damage and the ATK buff is not worth getting it. You can use it as your temporary set.
- Thundering Fury / Emblem of Severed Fate
- Raiden Shogun's default artifact set
- A good transitional set that players often pursue, especially whenever they are trying to get four-piece Emblem of Severed Fate.
- Thundering Fury / Noblesse Oblige
- Raiden Shogun's default artifact set
- A good transitional set that players often pursue, especially for new players who haven't have access to Momiji-Dyed Court (artifact domain for Emblem of Severed Fate).
Electro Off-field DPS

As mentioned, Raiden Shogun can also act as Electro Off-field DPS, with the unique set that players can choose and can still deal high damage values against opponents. This build is often recommended when Raiden Shogun is put on Dendro team composition, but it can extend on most of the team composition. As always, you can check her talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section. Just make sure to also focused on increase her ascension level.
Electro On-field DPS Weapon Recommendation
- Dragon's Bane
- Raiden Shogun's recommended four-star weapon.
- With a high Elemental Mastery substat, it is her recommended weapon to stack EM on her. The weapon's refinement becomes more important when placed in the Overload and Electro-Charged team composition, but outside of it, it is not recommended to get its refinement.
- Moonpiercer
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- A good craftable polearm that provides a decent Elemental Mastery and ATK buff (on its passive). Make sure that you can get the Leaf of Revival that will spawn randomly.
- Kitain Cross Spear
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- Another solid weapon that provides a decent Elemental Mastery (which is similar to Moonpiercer) and Energy regeneration for herself.
- Ballad of the Fjords
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- At R5, it provides more Elemental Mastery than Dragon's Bane, but it not financially good to invest on the refinement material for a slight increase of her damage. Regardless, it is a good option for her.
- Favonius Lance
- Raiden Shogun's alternative four-star weapon.
- A decent weapon that can be use when she is placed with teams with high Energy Recharge requirement. Make sure to build a Crit Rate on her (at least 30%).
Electro Off-field DPS Artifact Recommendation
- Gilded Dreams
- Raiden Shogun's default artifact set
- It increases her personal Elemental Mastery attributes, which makes it a great choice for her, even outside Dendro team compositions. It is also located on a resin-efficient domain.
- Flower of Paradise Lost
- Raiden Shogun's alternative artifact set
- It is an alternative set for her if you plan to put her in Hyperbloom team composition since the set allows her to yield high Hyperbloom damage.
- +80 Elemental Mastery set / +80 Elemental Mastery set
- Raiden Shogun's alternative artifact set
- It is a good transitional set, which works decently. You can use it to transition to use either Gilded Dreams or Flower of Paradise Lost.
- +20% Elemental Skill DMG set / +80 Elemental Mastery set

- Another decent set that also works for Raiden Shogun since her Off-field capability is under her Elemental Skill, increasing her personal damage a bit more. Although, the damage is quite subpar.
