Well, I did make a PRI review for both the new weapons, so why not do the Masters people some justice as well?
So today, we will be taking a look at the base forms of the two newly introduced weapons in v5.5:
Palatinus Equinox's signature 5-star lance- Midnight Eclipse,

and Spina Astera's signature 5-star scythe- Astral Rend: White Dwarf

WEAPON (LANCE):
1. Introduction:
MIDNIGHT ECLIPSE

Description:
Life is a self-contradictory antimonic helix. Everyone carries their beliefs forward and strives to leave their unique mark on the world. The purpose of being a warrior is perhaps to continue the exploration of the wilderness where the footprints of those who came before end.

2. Overview:
*All values are based on lvl 50.
[ATK: 287 CRT: 11]
Active Skill- Abyssal Might:
[SP: 0] [CD: 25s]
Launch a thrust attack, dealing 50% ATK of Physical DMG. If the thrust hits an enemy who is not in Invincibility or Iron Body state, it triggers a Throw ATK, controlling the target and dealing 90% + 1000% ATK of Physical DMG. While an enemy is executing certain moves, the wielder can unleash a Throw Counter unconditionally when the weapon skill button flashes, disabling the enemy and dealing 20% + 400% ATK of Physical DMG; this attack has no CD.
Palatinus Equinox equip bonus:
In Knight form, weapon skill becomes Throw ATK.

In Guardian form, it becomes Cannon Blast.
Tap [Weapon] to unleash Cannon Blast which reloads after 3 successive hits.
SEQ 1: 300% ATK of Physical DMG.
SEQ 2: 300% ATK of Physical DMG.
SEQ 3: 300% ATK of Physical DMG.

Tap [Weapon] after Special ATK to unleash Joint Cannon Blast:
SEQ 4 Joint Blast: 400% ATK of Physical DMG.
Shield Ram Joint Cannon Blast: 400% ATK of Physical DMG

Equinox Severance Joint Cannon Blast: 3 x 350% ATK of Physical DMG.

Passive Skill: Karma Wheel
Wielder's Crit Rate increases by 10%. Weapon skill deals 12% bonus Total DMG and 12% bonus Physical DMG.

3. Damage Comparison:
Now then, with the skill descriptions out of the way, let's see the performance of Midnight Eclipse when put in the same field as some other 5 star physical lances in the game and how these match up to it.
And as you already guessed, we will be doing this by using the DPS check stage provided to us in the Beta Client.

Oh and yet another reminder,
[DISCLAIMER: The following test is just for a simple demonstration in equally similar situations. These results can and will vary quite a bit depending on enemies/weathers/team comps/playstyle etc.]
We will be doing this comparison by doing a full burst rotation on a target 4-5 times (more runs to rule out possibilities of varying crit damage) with each weapon and recording the average damage observed out of the three runs.
The Team setup that will be used is:

(Yup, no PRIs used here.)
The Rotation:
HoS spear to activate SnS qte > SnS QTE + Charge Attack + Ultimate > HoS evade + chain combo + Ultimate > PE QTE > Evasion > Ultimate > Charge > Weapon skill > Switch to Guardian Form > Shield Ram into Equinox Severance + Cannon Blast/Weapon Active(2nd weapon active only applicable to Midnight Ataegina)

Enemy (Training Dummy):

(**Training Dummy has 2200 Physical DEF and 40% Elemental Resist)

RESULT:

- Midnight Eclipse, being the signature weapon, will obviously perform the best.
- Endothermic Lance and Abyss perform almost exactly similar, depending on the amount of crits you get in the fight.
- Hler's Serenity performs worse than the f2p options, in a weird turn of events.|
- Abyss Flower performs exceptionally bad on PE, mainly because of the lack of the throw skill and its overall skills being made to suit BK:E only.

3. Conclusion:
Although the f2p weapons in the game perform really close to the signature weapon in Masters tier, that changes drastically once you enter Exalted, so try not to skip the equipment for Palatinus Equinox if possible.
The weapon especially becomes a requirement once you enter higher levels due to the ability to chain into PE's combos, which no other lance in the game can do.
So the best-case scenario would be getting the gears along with the character (Weapon more important obviously).

SCYTHE:
Astral Rend: White Dwarf
1. Introduction

Description:
Like Durandal, Rita also received a unique weapon as a gift from the Astral Harness. This blade formed by the might of the stars is testament to her protection of the Bubble Universe.

2. Overview and Skills:
*All values are based on lvl 50.
[ATK: 300 CRT: 12]
Active Skill- Planetary Nebula:

Showcase:

- Like its PRI version, this weapon active skill also inflicts "Flared" state on enemies while dealing large amounts of Fire Damage.

Passive Skill- Electron Degeneracy:

3. Damage Comparison:
Alright, comparison time. You know the deal, 3 full burst runs, we pick average and use as our measure for decision. And like in the lance comparison, we'll use no PRIs to keep the comparison Masters Tier friendly.
Team setup is the following:

The Rotation:
Midnight Absinthe Ultimate > AE switch in and Ultimate > Spina Astera QTE > Charge Attack > Basic Attack Sequence 1 to 5 > Activate Weapon Skill > Charge Attack > Charge Attack again > Ultimate > Final Charge attack

Enemy (Training Dummy):

Mech Type Enemy to negate any type advantage/disadvantage.
(**Training Dummy has 2200 Physical DEF and 40% Elemental Resist)

RESULT:

- Signature Weapon stays on top as always.
- Skadi is 2nd best in the non PRI field because of its unrestricted 20% tdm.
- Sanguine Gaze performs just a bit lower than Skadi.
- Onyx Iron is the last of the decent performing options, and is an f2p weapon.
- All the other scythes fall behind after this. Path to Acheron, Iris, Aphrodite, Genome Reaper etc. perform almost as much as Onyx Iron at best. So if you don't have the first three options, you can go for Onyx Iron.
So yeah, pretty much that and as soon as you enter Exalted the damage gap extends even further. So if you want to use SpA effectively, try getting the weapon at least!

4. Conclusion:
So is her gear worth pulling? To be completely honest, I don't really know as of right now. People say she doesn't really hold a priority right now. But remember, the same was said about Fallen Rosemary and Argent Knight: Artemis. And people who had Argent Knight geared up, enjoyed high asf scores in abyss and Rosemary still is the go-to for lightning teams.
So I'd say it depends on whether you have crystals left for her equipment (or maybe you're like me and will pull for any Rita battlesuit regardless of meta). I really think that her performance and place in the meta will increase gradually.
But from a meta point of view, you should, first of all, get the essential valks and gears like Azure Empyrea, Herrscher of Sentience, Margrave, Shattered Swords, Turgenev, etc. If you have already done that, going for Spina Astera's Equipment can possibly prove to be pretty worthwhile in the future.

Well, that pretty much covers all of it, hope you found this review somewhat insightful!
Good luck on your gacha rolls, and once again, A Happy 4th Anniversary to my fellow EU and NA Captains!!
I'll catch you later~
