Popsicle's Short Review

▲PROS: Chasca's introduction allows players to experience another unique gameplay that revolves around Anemo's mechanic - taking advantage of Swirl and triggering more elemental reactions. As a DPS, she can deal massive amount of damage per shot, making her opponents disintegrate with ease. Her constellation also hides additional damage that Chasca can use to defeat her enemies faster. She can hover during the combat, allowing her to be relatively safe against non-range enemies, and have a decent range. Lastly, her overworld mobility, especially around Natlan, is marvelous.
▼CONS: Even though Chasca's role is DPS, her kit is similar to other Charged Attack DPS in the game, making her damage per second somewhat lower (although it is already compensated with high shot damage). If you want to use her in a specific elemental reaction, it would be RNG since you may not trigger your preferred reaction. She also has limitation on her firing arc as she can't fire directly below to her. Lastly, her preferred team is highly coveted by other team compositions, like Furina, Bennett, and Xiangling.

Combat Profile
✦ Normal Attack | Phantom Feather Flurry

➤ Chasca's Normal Attack allows her to deal 4 consecutive strikes, dealing Physical DMG, while her Charged Attack can deal Anemo DMG when fully charged up. It is important to take note that you won't be using her default Normal Attack kit, since you need to activate her Elemental Skill to take advantage her kit.

✦ Elemental Skill | Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt
❝Let's fly❠

➤ Chasca's Elemental Skill is her core kit. In combat, you will use her Hold version to maximize her damage potential. Your goal is to complete the loading of her 6 Shadowhunt Shells, that deals different kind of Elemental DMG, which is dependent on your team.
➤ Shadowhunt Shells
Chasca's core damage provider. It may be wordy on paper, but in a nutshell,
- FIRST SHELL = Always Anemo
- SECOND SHELL = Always Anemo
- THIRD SHELL = Always RNG (See A1 Passive)
- FOURTH SHELL = Dependent on the Element Type of her Party (Shining Shadowhunt Shell)
- FIFTH SHELL = Dependent on the Element Type of her Party (Shining Shadowhunt Shell)
- SIXTH SHELL = Dependent on the Element Type of her Party (Shining Shadowhunt Shell)
The configuration of the fourth to sixth shells are dependent to the elements in her party, as long they have Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro.
Additionally, Shining Shadowhunt Shell does more damage than the regular Shadowhunt Shell
➤ "Last in, First Out Mechanic"
It is already mentioned that the 4th to 6th Shadowhunt Shells is dependent to the element type in her party. For example, you got, Cryo, Electro, and Hydro as your fourth, fifth, and sixth shell. Once it got fired, the next batch of shells would be Hydro, Cryo, and Electro. Please see the captions on the following image

First Batch of Shells

Second Batch of Shells after being fired.
➤ In exploration, you can use her large musket to ride around Natlan. In Quahuacan Cliff, there are phlogiston that are floating around the region. You can get it to extend its duration.

✦ Elemental Burst | Soul Reaper's Fatal Round
❝Knock 'em down.❠

➤ Chasca's Elemental Burst allows her to fire a single Galespliting Soulseeker Shell that deals AoE Anemo DMG. After it hit its mark, it will split into six Soulseeker Shells, attacking nearby opponents. Two Soulseeker Shells will undergo Elemental Conversion to become "Radiant Soulseeker Shells", allowing deal to deal corresponding Elemental DMG against the enemies.

Passive Ability
✦ Utility Passive | Mediation's True Meaning
❝Alright, whose wings need clipping?❠
◢ 25 Phlogiston will be restored when your own party members defeat an opponent. This effect can trigger once every 12s. This has no effect in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.
➤ A nice overworld Utility that allows you to restore Phlogiston once you defeat your enemy. It is quite sad that it has no effect in Domains and Spiral Abyss.

✦ Night Realm's Gift Passive | Everburning Heart
❝Ooh, shiny... It's so pretty...❠
◢ After her Nightsoul points are exhausted, Chasca will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul's Blessing. While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Chasca. When the active character is in the air, the following will occur when switching to Chasca: Chasca will enter the Nightsoul's Blessing state and gain 32 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team.
➤ Similar to other Natlan character, it is a good way for players to understand the framework to fully maximize her Nightsoul Blessing as your team explores around Natlan.

✦ 1st Ascension Passive | Bullet Trick
❝Huh, is that a new bullet in the chamber?❠
◢ When the Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Multitarget Fire is being charged, if there are party members who meet the Elemental Conversion Type requirements, gain the following effects based on the number of different eligible Elemental Types present:
- There is a 33.3%/66.7%/100% chance for each Type to trigger "Spiritbinding Conversion" and cause the 3rd Shadowhunt Shell loaded into the cylinder to be randomly converted into a Shining Shadowhunt Shell from one of the corresponding Elemental Types.
- Each Elemental Type will grant Chasca 1 stack of Spirit of the Radiant Shadow, increasing the DMG of Shining Shadowhunt Shell by 15%/35%/65%. This effect lasts until the current Multitarget Fire ends. Max 3 stacks.
➤ Her A1 allows her third Shadowhunt Shell to be converted into an Elemental bullet, allowing you to increase the chances of the elemental reactions that you produce. Additionally, since it is converted into Shining Shadowhunt Shell, it also increases Chasca's personal damage. However, the elemental conversion is a random one, so you may get either of the three elements that are present in her team. Since there is a base 33.3% chance to trigger Spiritbinding Conversion, Chasca's third bullet would be Anemo, until RNG gives it luck to you.
➤ For players who really wanted to focus to trigger a single elemental reaction, I would suggest doubling an element that are present in her team to increases the chances to trigger your favorite reaction, (e.g., for Vaporize teams with Chasca, you can put Furina, Xiangling and Bennett to assured a Vaporize reaction to trigger).
➤ Addiitonally, Chasca will grant herself a stack of Spirit of the Radiant Shadow, increase the damage of the Shining Shadowhunt Shells up to 65%.

✦ 4th Ascension Passive | Intent to Cover
❝There's an urge to fight that runs in my veins... But now, I know how to put it to good use.❠
◢ When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, Chasca will fire a "Burning Shadowhunt Shot" at a nearby opponent, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Anemo DMG equal to 150% of the Shadowhunt Shell DMG from her Elemental Skill Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt. If the party has Pyro, Hydro, Cryo, or Electro characters, the Burning Shadowhunt Shot will be converted to deal Nightsoul-aligned Elemental DMG of the corresponding Elemental Type equal to 150% of the DMG dealt by Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt's Shining Shadowhunt Shells.
The DMG done in this way is considered Charged Attack DMG.
➤ It serves as an additional damage for Chasca whenever her team triggers a Nightsoul Burst. Do you know how to trigger it at this point, right?

Constellations
✦ C1 - Cylinder, the Restless Roulette
➤ A much needed constellation for Chasca as it gives some upgrades to her kit. The second Shadowhunt Shell deals more damage, the third bullet will always trigger Spiritbinding Conversion, converting it into an Elemental Bullet, and it would decrease the Nightsoul Blessing state by 30%, allowing you to fire the fourth shot with fully loaded shell.
✦ C2 - Muzzle, the Searing Smoke
➤ It significantly increases Chasca's damage thanks to the 1 stack of Spirit of Radiant Shadow readily available for her and the additional AoE Elemental DMG that her Shining Shadowhunt Shells can deal (equal to 400% of her ATK)
✦ C3 - Reins, Her Careful Control
➤ It further increases her Elemental Skill's Talent Level to 15. You can use this as your stopping point if you want to partially invest on her.
✦ C4 - Sparks, the Sudden Shot
➤ Chasca's C4 gives her straight up additional damage to her Burst as it deals AoE Elemental DMG to her Radiant Soulseeker Shells equal to 400% of her ATK. Additionally, it alleviates Chasca's energy needs as it will restore 1.5 Elemental Energy to her, lowering herd required Energy Recharge attributes.
✦ C5 - Brim, the Sandshadow's Silhouette
➤ It further increases her Elemental Burst's Talent Level to 15.
✦ C6 - Showdown, the Glory of Battle
➤ Chasca's best constellation as the charge time decreases significantly, allowing you to fully charged up her fourth salvo. Additionally, it also boost Chasca's damage as the Crit DMG of its Multitarget Fire's Shadowhunt Shells and Shining Shadowhunt Shells is increased by 120%.

About Constellation
➤ Vultur Gryphus = Andean condor
➤ Andean condor is a South American vulture that is commonly sighted across the Andes (thus her namesake). Like any other vulture, it primarily feeds on the carrion. It is a national symbol of Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, and Ecuador. Andean mythology dictates that it is closely associated with the sun deity and a symbol of power and health.

Build Notes
As mentioned, Chasca is a powerful Anemo DPS, allowing her to deal massive damage as you charged up her gun. Your goal is to always charge up her Skill before firing it. Since it is easy to build her, finding a right substat is necessary to maximize her damage potential. As always, you can check her talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section.
Anemo On-Field DPS Weapon Recommendation
- Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage
- Chasca's signature five-star weapon
- It is her uncontested weapon that allows to maximize her kit and further increases her damage.
- The First Great Magic
- Chasca's alternative five-star weapon
- If you managed to get this weapon instead of her signature, it also works for Chasca, especially they have similar Crit DMG attributes. Its passive requires you to have similar Anemo units in her team, so it would be perfect on Swirl/Mono-Anemo team compositions. The Movement SPD is still being tested on how well it would benefit her.
- Aqua Simulacra
- Chasca's alternative five-star weapon
- It does boast a high Crit DMG substat than her signature weapon and it grants her additional damage buff, making it another option for Chasca.
- Flower-Wreathed Feathers
- Chasca's recommended four-star weapon
- It is the newest four-star weapon that you can get for her because of its high ATK substat and the increased damage dealt by her Charged Attacks, making it suitable for her.
- Song of Stillness
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- A craftable weapon that you can use for Chasca because of its high ATK substat and additional damage buff. However, the latter requires you to have a healer to make it beneficial to you.
- Hamayumi
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- This weapon boasts the highest ATK% substat among the bow roster in the game, thus making it another craftable weapon that suits Chasca's needs. Additionally, it buffs up her Charged Attack DMG, making it suitable for her.
- Chain Breaker
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- It could be a good option for Chasca if you managed to pair her up with Natlan characters. However, you need to stay still until appropriate supports from Natlan are released. So far, only Ororon is the only Natlan character that can support Chasca.
- Range Gauge
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- It is another decent option for Chasca due to the ATK and Elemental DMG Bonus buff that it gives. However, it passive requires Chasca to be healed. Usually, you will get the buff on the second rotation.
- Scion of the Blazing Sun
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- A Battle Pass weapon that also works perfectly on Chasca since it buffs up enemies with more Charged Attack DMG once you apply Heartsearer effect to the enemies. However, it does have low Crit Rate substat.
- Ibis Piercer
- Chasca's alternative four-star weapon
- A limited weapon that can be used on her because of its ATK substat. The Elemental Mastery buff is also useful for her in Swirl team composition.
- Sharpsoother's Oath
- Chasca's recommended begniner weapon
- New players can also enjoy Chasca using this weapon because of its high Crit DMG substat.
Anemo On-Field DPS Artifact Recommendation
- Obsidian Codex
- Chasca's default artifact set
- It is her recommended artifact set because of the buff it provides, and it works perfectly on all Natlan DPS in the game.
- Marechaussee Hunter
- Chasca's default artifact set
- Due on Chasca's reliance on Furina on her team, Marechaussee Hunter is also a default set on her. Not to mention it also increases the Charged Attack DMG, make it useful on her.
- Shimenawa's Reminiscence
- Chasca's alternative artifact set
- It's another decent option for Chasca due to the Charged Attack DMG buff that it gives. However, it is often recommended to use her Burst first before activating her Skil.
- Wanderer's Troupe
- Chasca's alternative artifact set
- It's a legacy artifact set that can be used on Chasca due to high Charged Attack DMG buff that you can get. The Elemental Mastery buff is appreciated.
- Viridescent Venerer
- Chasca's alternative artifact set
- It's another option for Chasca especially on Swirl team compositions.

Since Electro-Charged is being buff on Version 5.2, you can use try this team composition.
NOTE: Xilonen can be replaced with Ororon.

Community Consensus

Conclusion

Chasca's introduction in the game provides another exciting mechanic that players could enjoy. Her kit provides another player to try niche kit as she didn't conform to the DPS mechanic that we already know for years. Players that love Charged Attacks, high concentrated damage, loved seeing rainbow color damages, or have biases for Anemo DPS are encouraged to try her in game. She may have flaws on her kit, but with my time playing with her, I think veteran and new players would love her kit. Mastering her kit would result to a high excitement on every time she pulls the trigger.
