BUDGET KAEYA GUIDE
SUMMARY
Kaeya is a 4-Star Cryo character who can act as a solid Support character with his Burst's off-field Cryo application. In Freeze teams, he can act also act as a Cryo battery by providing extra Elemental Particles

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is a great general Support Set for any ATK scaling DPS characters
- 4pc Blizzard Strayer is great for Kaeya's personal DMG in Freeze teams
- In Reverse Melt teams, 4pc Emblem of Severed Fate or 4pc Lavawalker's are great options for him.
- Flexible 2pc Build: Blizzard Strayer, Noblesse Oblige, ATK Sets
Main Stat & Substats
- ATK % Sands is preferred in most cases. Kaeya can also opt for an EM Sands in Reverse Melt teams.
- ER Sands is recommended if you are struggling to get his Burst back
- CRIT DMG Circlet preferred with 4pc Blizzard Strayer
WEAPON OPTIONS
- Kagotsurube Isshin (Quest) - Provides ATK %, Passive can increase ATK % further after using an NA. Great F2P Option
- Aquila Favonia - High Base ATK, but its Passive is not particularly useful for Kaeya
- Harbinger of Dawn - 3-Star Beginner-friendly weapon that provides both CRIT DMG (substat) and CRIT Rate (Passive). Be wary of capping on CR if using this in a Freeze team.
- Favonius Sword - General Support weapon that is great for batterying teammates
- Reverse Melt Weapons Only
- Lion's Roar - Provides ATK %, Passive increases DMG against enemies affected by Pyro.
- Toukabou Shigure (Event) or Iron Sting (Craftable) for its EM substat
TEAM COMPS
- Reverse Melt - Cryo / Pyro / Pyro
- Another Cryo character such as Rosaria, Wriothesley, Ganyu.
- Pyro: Xiangling, Bennett, Dehya, Thoma
- With the addition of Emilie, it is possible to replace the 2nd Cryo slot with her for a BurnMelt team
- As a Cryo Support character, Kaeya can easily slot into various teams that like his off-field Cryo application (Freeze, Reverse Melt, Mono Cryo, Fridge, Physical). He can potentially be used with:
- Cryo DPS: Ayaka, Wriothesley, Ganyu, Freminet
- Other Cryo: Shenhe, Rosaria, Chongyun
- Pyro DPS for their Melt teams: Arlecchino, GaMing
- Hydro: Ayato or Furina in Freeze teams, and many other Hydro characters, as long as they are able to apply Hydro effectively
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/80 & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
