Popsicle's Short Review

For more deep-dive analysis of Citlali, take a look on our newest Community Insight Episode!
▲PROS: Citlali's introduction provides amazing support for team composition focused on Frozen or Melt because of the Pyro and Hydro shredding that it provides, making her one of the best supports on said compositions. You can easily build her because you only need one attribute. She can also restore Nightsoul Points, which is essential when pairing her up with Mavuika. Lastly, she can provide shielding, which protects your team.
▼CONS: Her shield is somewhat mediocre because of the lack of shield absorption multiplier in her Skill, and her Burst's Cryo application is not frequent enough to trigger Frozen or Melt.

Combat Profile
✦ Normal Attack | Shadow-Stealing Spirit Vessel

➤ Her Normal Attack allows her to throw Citlalin and Itzpapa against opponents, dealing Cryo DMG. Its damage multiplier is low, making it not the focus on her kit. However, it would be appreciated if you upgraded her Normal Attack talent level especially if you have any spare time or resources.

✦ Elemental Skill | Dawnfrost Darkstar
❝Usually, the wills that symbolize different stars cannot coexist, for how can purest black be reflected in purest white?
Be that as it may, Citlali has never harbored a particular preference for colors themselves, and that is just how things played out.❠

➤ Her Elemental Skill is the core of her kit, allowing you to use Itzpapa into combat, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Cryo DMG. Additionally, it allows her to generate Opal Shield that scales on her Elemental Mastery attribute, with great efficiency on absorbing Cryo DMG.
➤ One of her plushies, Itzpapa, will follow the main character and allows it to enter into Opal Fire state if Citlali has 50 Nightsoul Points. During in that state, Itzpapa becomes pink, continuously consumes Nightsoul Points and unleashes Frostfall Storm that deals Nightsoul-aligned Cryo DMG.

✦ Elemental Burst | Edict of Entwined Splendor
❝Ugh, enough of this 'dark star, opal star' stuff! Citlalin, Itzpapa, get 'em!❠

➤ Her Elemental Burst allows her to summon Citlalin and Itzpapa to unleash an ice storm and bombard a large area, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Cryo DMG. It also allows Citlali to restore Nightsoul Points to herself as she uses her Burst and summons Spiritvessel Skull that will explode to opponents after some time. She can only summon 3 Spiritvessel Skull and it also restore a bit of Nightsoul Points to herself after it exploded.

Passive Ability
✦ Utility Passive | Songs of Profound Mystery
❝Leave me alo— Ahh, never mind! Let's go!❠
➤ It improves your Natlan teams as Citlali can restore Phlogiston when you trigger Nightsoul Burst. Unfortunately, this passive won't activated in Domain, Trounce Domains, or Spiral Abyss.

✦ Night Realm's Gift Passive | Smoke, Mirrors, and the Flowing Winds
❝Go on, take them. I'll thank the stars for you later.❠
➤ It works similarly to other Natlan characters in how they will traverse the region. However, her Gift Passive will prioritize consuming Phlogiston when initiating Charged Attacks mid-air. Additionally, it allows Citlali to glide into the air using Citlalin.

✦ 1st Ascension Passive | Mamaloaco's Frigid Rain
❝Hmm, this doesn't feel like a divination technique from beyond this world. My school of shamanism relies on the earth rather than the sky. When the fake inauspicious stars show their teeth, I bind them with the spirit of the earth, the bones of dead animals, and the power of the obscuring smoke.❠
➤ It allows Citlali to shred Pyro and Hydro to the opponents once her party triggers Frozen or Melt reactions, making it the core passive that you need to immediately unlock. Additionally, Citlali will regain Nightsoul Points when you trigger this passive.

✦ 4th Ascension Passive | Itzpapalotl's Star Garments
❝Each Tzitzimitl contains the bones of small animals, which is kind of a creepy technique if you think about it. So, when it comes to people being afraid of me... I guess I bear, maybe, ten percent of the responsibility. But, I don't harm any animals! I just find the bones in the wild!❠
➤ It allows Citlali to further increase the Burst DMG based on her Elemental Mastery. Additionally, it also regains Nightsoul Points when her team triggers Nightsoul Bursts.

Constellations
✦ C1 - Radiant Blades of Centzon Mimixcoah
➤ Citlali's C1 increases its supportive capability by gaining Opalstar Vestments to Itzpapa. This essentially increases the damage dealt by an active character that scales through her Elemental Mastery by consuming Stellar Blades. You will have 10 Stellar Blades upon casting her Skill and will consume 1 Blade per Normal, Charged, Plunging, Skill, or Burst, and you can gain more Stellar Blades when the party triggers Melt or Frozen. You can reset it by using her Elemental Skill again. Lastly, Citlali decreases her Phlogiston consumption rate when she's using her leap, Aiming or Charged Attack in mid-air
✦ C2 - Heart Devourer's Travail
➤ Citlali's C2 allows her to gain more Elemental Mastery to herself and her team shielded under her Opal Shield or whoever Itzpapa is following, and the Pyro and Hydro RES is increased to 40%, increasing the Frozen or Melt damage created by her team.
✦ C3 - Cloud Serpent's Feathered Crown
➤ It further increases her Elemental Skill's Talent Level to 15.
✦ C4 - Death Defier's Spirit Skull
➤ Citlali's C4 grants her Burst an additional Obsidian Spiritvessel while her Skill is active. The created Obisidian Spiritvessel through her C4 deals higher Nightsoul-aligned AoE Cryo DMG, restores Nightsoul Points, and gains Energy for her. Remember that the damage done by her C4 is not considered Elemental Burst DMG.
✦ C5 - Nemontemi's Hex
➤ It further increases her Elemental Burst's Talent Level to 15.
✦ C6 - Teoiztac's Secret Pact
➤ Citlali's C6 bypasses the Nightsoul Points requirement to trigger Itzpapa's Opla Fire state, will continue in that state even if her Nightsoul Points are depleted, and continue to consume all Nightsoul Points while it is on the field. This consumption allows Citlali to gain Cifra of the Secret Law points, which grants an increase to the Pyro and DMG Bonus on all of her party and increases Citlali's DMG. This is the reason why it is her best constellation.

About Constellation
➤ Patina Anavatlaca = Unconquered Sun
➤ In Nahuatl, anahuatl is a round disc worn as a pendant in the chest pectoral (as a talisman). It is a pendant carved out from an abalone shell and is related to Tezcatlipoca, the God of Providence and Lord of the Night Rule of the North. Tezacatlipoca is often associated with divination as he can use a smoking mirror (obsidian) to use shamanic rituals and prophecy readings. Since Citlali is a shaman priestess in the Masters of the Night-Wind, the constellation is suited to Citlali's role in her tribe.

Build Section
Support
Build Notes
Citlali is an excellent Cryo Support that enables you to use her kit in Frozen or Melt team composition. Your goal when building her is to stack as much Elemental Mastery in her kit as possible, allowing her to maximize the kit provided by her Elemental Skill. As always, you can check her talent prioritization in the Quick Glance section.
Cryo Support Weapon Recommendation
Starcaller's Watch
➤ Citlali's signature weapon that tailors to her kit thanks to massive Elemental Mastery that you can get (up to 365 at R1), and buffing the active character's DMG as her shield provides a Mirror of Night effect that can be used once every 14 seconds. This makes it a must-have weapon for Citlali.

A Thousand Floating Dreams
➤ Citlali's second-best weapon that you can get if you don't have Nahida in your team. It allows her to support her team by buffing their Elemental Mastery or Elemental DMG Bonus attribute with its simple conditions. The only downside to it is that Citlali won't gain any Elemental Mastery buff, but the high Elemental Mastery substat on this artifact is already good enough to compensate for it. Just make sure that you have at least 50 Elemental Mastery to your Flower and Plume/Feather on her artifact substat.

Sacrificial Fragments
➤ It is her best four-star weapon because of its high Elemental Mastery at Level 90. It's important to have a higher refinement level on this weapon as it provides a high uptime to her Skill because of its cooldown reset chance, allowing you to maximize Citlali's supporting role in combat.

Wandering Evenstar
➤ Another option for Citlali because of the bonus ATK can receive for her and her team. It's recommended that you allow Citlali to trigger a reaction to take full advantage of this weapon's passive.

The Widsith
➤ On paper, it provides a huge Elemental Mastery and Elemental DMG buff, which synergizes with the buff Citlali can give to her team. With Crit DMG on its substat, Citlali can deal higher damage potential in combat. However, the randomness of the theme song makes it somewhat inconsistent to use. But, if you like to gamble the odds (since you can only take advantage 2 out of 3 buffs), be my guest.

Sacrificial Jade
➤ Since Citalli is best when it's not on-field, you can maximize the weapon's passive easily, However, I wouldn't advise getting this weapon solely for Citlali because of its mediocre Elemental Mastery buff. But if you have it already in your inventory, you can use it.

Mappa Mare
➤ It's a decenr F2P weapon that you can get for Citlali because of its decent Elemental Mastery substat and Elemental DMG Bonus buff that can stack twice. If you managed to get this weapon, you can use it until you get Sacrificial Fragments on your pulls. New players are also recommend to use this weapon.

Fruit of Fulfillment
➤ It's another decent weapon that you can use because of its Elemental Mastery buff that you can get (up to 120 at R1). However, it requires you to have a consistent Elemental Reaction to maxed out the buff that you will be getting.

Favonius Codex
➤ It's considered as a niche weapon to get because it doesn't have any Elemental Mastery in its substat. However, when Citlali is placed in team that are erergy-hungry, you can use it.

Magic Guide
➤ It's one of the early weapons that new players can use it because of its high Elemental Mastery substat and increased damage for Freeze team composition. It's also a good EM stat stick.

Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers
➤ It's considered to be the secon best weapon that you can get for Citlali (after her signature weapon) because of the weapon's buffing capabilities. It also allows Citlali to be part of any Freeze or Melt team composition that you can think of. The HP substat is also greatly appreciated

Cryo Support Artifact Recommendation
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
➤ Citlali's default artifact set for supports from Natlan. However, if you plan to have Xilonen in your team, it's best to give it to her than to Citlali.
Tenacity of the Millelith
➤ If someone is using Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, Tenacity of the Millelith takes precedence because of the ATK buff it gives to her party and increases the Shield Strength of her Opal Shield a bit. Her Spritivessel Skull is good enough to trigger the four-piece bonus of this set.
Gilded Dreams
➤ Another option for Citlali is this set as it provides an increase of Elemental Mastery and ATK depending on her team. It is usually recommended to have this set when you place Citlali with another Cryo unit in your team.
Wanderer's Troupe / Flower of the Paradise Lost
➤ You can use this 2-piece set to increase Citlali's Elemental Mastery to 160. You can also use Gilded Dreams' 2-pc set if you are struggling to get its four-piece.
Instructor
➤ It provides a huge Elemental Mastery buff to Citlali, allowing her to gain up to 200 EM if you managed to trigger its four-piece bonus. It's usually recommended to have than sticking with two artifact sets that provides 80 EM each.
Tiny Miracle
➤ Surpisingly, new players can also use this set to further increase the Elemental RES that Citlali provides. You can combie it with 2-pc Instructor.

Synergy
The synergy section provides a detailed guide on how much synergistic that character is to Citlali. Please adhere to the legends inside the infographics.
- High Synergy refers to the character that can definitely use in your team without any restrictions. You don't need investments in their constellation to make be synergizes with the featured character on this guide.
- Conditional Synergy refers to the character that you can use with some caveats, unlocking constellation, utilizing one of their passive, or requires high investment to their kit. It is often used as an alternative if you don't have any characters that are synergistic with the featured character on this guide.
- Low/No Synergy refers to the character that don't synergize well to the featured character on this guide.
- To Be Determine refers to the characters that isn't playable yet but it is already confirmed to be playable within the version.
Reason for Conditional Synergy:
- Lyney is best suited for Mono-Pyro team composition, but I've seen him on some Melt composition.
- Sigewinne could be the best support for Freeze team composition because of her healing capabilities, but her Hydro application is limited to her Burst and it will take some time to get used to it.
- Nilou is best suited for Bloom tea composition, but placing her in Fridge teams (Bloom + Freeze) could provide a decent damage.
- Ayato and Citlali is good when you place him in Freeze team composition, but it limits Ayato's potential to other composition. Plus, Yun Jin, Xilonen, and Kazuha is still hjis best support even with other Freeze composition variation.
- Hydro Traveler is also a good synergistic with Citlali, assuming they are paired with Neuvillette or Sigewinne.
- Barbara a decent Hydro healer that you can use, but her Hydro application requires your team to get near in the enemies.
Reason for Conditional Synergy:
- Lynette is a good option for Citlali in certain team composition but it's quite cumbersome to use her. It works but there are other Anemo supports that will make your life easier.
- Wanderer could benefit with the Hydro and Pyro RES but Citlali doesn't buff his Normal and Charged Attack. If you really want to use Citlali on her, invest heavily on EM and use TTDS.
- Faruzan could also work with Citlali teams assuming that you are using an Anemo DPS.
- Heizou could also work for Citlali as long you are reliably triggering Frozen or Melt reactions
- Sayu could also work for Citlli teams especially with her healing capabilities.
- Venti is another decent Anemo crowd controller, but you need to pair him up with a DPS that could target the oppoonents he lifted up mid-air
- Anemo Traveler could also be synergistic with Citlali but there are other Anemo units that you could use on her team composiition.
Reason for Conditional Synergy:
- Kinich, Emilie, Kirara, Baizhu, and Yaoyao could work with Citlali in the Burn-Melt team composition.
- Mika is a decent healer that you can use, but he excels more in Physical team compositions
- Aloy could be a decent option only for Freeze team composition.
- Yun Jin is heavily dependent on team compositions and favors a DPS with Normal Attack-focused gameplay.
- Albedo provides 125 Elemental Mastery buffing Citlali more, but it is heavily dependent on your gameplay with him.

Team Building
Here are some team compositions you may use for Citlali. If you can use these characters when building her team composition. It will differ depending on your character availability and preferred playstyle. Please in mind that you can use the Synergy section to help you decide your preferred team composition with Citlali.

Rotation Tips
It is generally recommended to use Burst and Skill before switching to your Main DPS, since you need to maximize the buff that her Skill provides to your DPS.

Community Insight

Conclusion

Citlali provides a both offensive and defensive kit that players could enjoy, especially if they love Freeze or Melt team composition, thanks to the Pyro and Hydro RES that she provides for the team. Her shield may not be as strong as Zhongli's or Layla's but it provides more support to your Main DPS, allowing their damage to boost even more. For veteran players, if you're gameplay revolves around Freeze or Melt, you can definitely try her. For new players, Citlali provides a best option for you to try Freeze or Melt composition, rather than sticking on Vaporize or Dendro-related reactions. If you managed to work out her flaws, you will have a blast using Citlali in combat. She might allow you to binge-read with her ![]()
