BUDGET SAYU GUIDE
SUMMARY
Sayu is a 4-Star Claymore character who can act as a general Support character heal the party through her Burst or act as a on-field Driver by using her Skill to Swirl Elements
TALENT & ASCENSION MATERIALS
Sayu leveled to 80/90 due to her Ascension Stat (EM). You can choose to leave her at Lv 80/80 if you are mainly using her as a Burst Support character, but it is recommended to get her to Lv 90/90 if you're using her to Swirl

Artifact Sets
- 4pc Viridescent Venerer is her best Artifact Set option that you should aim to use or farm a bit for
- 4pc Noblesse Oblige is also a generalist Support set that she can use to buff teammates!
Main Stat & Substats
Depends on the build you are going for!
- On-field Driver: build her with Triple EM main stats since she will mainly deal Swirl damage. Focus on ER and EM for substats as well
- For Burst Support Sayu:
- ER Sands is preferred, but if you have enough ER to Burst comfortably, you can use an ATK Sands instead
- As for Substats, prioritize her ER. ATK % and EM don't hurt either!
- At C6, you can use EM Goblets and Circlets. If she doesn't heal enough for you, switch to a Healing Bonus Circlet for a comfier build
- Before C6, Sayu is better off with ATK % Goblet and Healing Bonus Circlet to increase her healing
- CRIT Rate Circlet and/or Substats are recommended if you are using Favonius Greatsword on Sayu
WEAPON OPTIONS
- An ER Weapon is highly recommended for Sayu, especially Favonius Greatsword and Katsuragikiri Nagamasa.
- Other ER Weapon Options: Skyward Pride, Sacrificial Greatsword, Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword, Forest Regalia
- Favonius Greatsword is a great General 4-Star Support weapon that can be useful regardless of her playstyle
- Katsuragikiri Nagamasa - Craftable weapon. Passive that helps with ER and benefits her on-field playstyle a bit
- Ultimate Overlord's Mega Magic Sword - Limited-time Event weapon that provides a lot of ATK % through Passive. Doesn't give as much ER as most of the other options
- EM Weapon Options: Recommended for on-field Sayu - Mailed Flower, Rainslasher, Bloodtainted Greatsword
- Mailed Flower - Limited-time Event Weapon with EM substat. Passive increases EM and ATK %!
TEAM COMPS
- Can be used to Support most teams who want an Anemo VV holder. Sayu can also consolidate the healing slot!
- While she can help gain Furina's Fanfare stacks, her Burst healing is primarily for the active character, which makes her less effective than a team-wide healer option like Jean
- Driver Sayu mainly uses her Skill to Swirl, so characters whose off-field Elemental Application works through NAs (Xingqiu, Yelan, Beidou, Thoma) don't work with her
- Off-field applicators that can work include:
- Cryo: Kaeya, Layla, Rosaria, Citlali
- Electro: Fischl, Ororon, Raiden Shogun, Yae Miko, Lisa, Kuki Shinobu
- Hydro: Furina, Kokomi, Mona, Ayato
- Pyro: Mavuika, Xiangling, Dehya
Notes:
- Weapon options in my budget guides exclude weapons that are only obtainable from the limited (weapon) banner.
- With the addition of Chronicled Wish, this means some Weapon Banner exclusive weapons were added to Chronicle Wish as well, but these weapons are still considered "limited" for the purposes of these guides
- The rationale behind this is that the Chronicled Wish banner has the same duration as a normal banner and uses precious Intertwined Fates.
- This makes the Budget Guide friendlier to newer players, F2Ps, and low spenders.
- Materials for ascending the character to level 80/90 (for additional EM) & talent levels 1 / 8 / 8
- In terms of purple XP books alone, you'd be saving 172 XP books (419 to 90/90 compared to 247 to 80/80). That's enough XP books to level up a different character to level 70! This aspect of the Budget Guides is friendly to players who may have less resources.
- It also potentially frees up resin that may be spent on leylines to farm artifacts instead
